Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Beautiful pictures. Great color and clarity. Docking station makes for easy transfer to PC.

Weakness: Camera takes too long to boot up (7-9 seconds). If you are trying to capture a momemt, it may pass before the the camera is ready to take the picture.

Overall very pleased, will definitely consider Kodak again when time to upgrade. Incredibly pleased with the picture quality. My parents have an HP camera and the Kodak puts it too shame.

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Very easy to use, compact size, great value for a 4X zoom and 4.1 megapixles

Weakness: Delay between pressing the shutter button and taking she shot in action mode (especially whne using the rechargable battery) should be shorter.

We have so far taken over 300 pictures and have had no issues at all and are enjoying the camera. While nothing is ever "perfect", the camera is actually performing better than our expensive 35mm film camera at focusing in in low light and action situations and the prints are turning out great. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a good digital camera that is easy to operate and does not require lots of on screen menus to function.

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: User Friendly! 4x Optical Zoom. Perfect Picture Quality!!!

Weakness: Battery Life.

I have used about 4 Kodak Digital models and each generation gets better. This one is no exception. It is the best yet! I recently also bought a Pentax Optio 550 because PCMag gave it a better rating. I wish I had not because PCMag was not correct in my opinion. The kodak DX6440 has taken much better pictures! Maybe if I was a professional photographer I might like the Optio better...but I am not...and the Kodak DX6440 take a superb picture every time...even in low light situations!

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Easy to use and understand controls. Easy to scroll thru menu to set up.

Weakness: Maybe the flash, I haven't used the flash much. The selector wheel is a bit hard to move with big fingers.

By shutting off the "Live-view" the camera goes to standby, and is still ready to take photos. Battery will last a day of touring. Editing photos is a snap, Very little color correction is needed and with 4 meg-pixels you can do plenty of cropping. The selector wheel is hard to use with big fingers. I've used it mostly in Auto, but on a recent trip to Italy I went to the landscape mode and eliminated having to shut off the flash.

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: This camera is extremely easy to use while still capturing very accurate photos.

Weakness: None that I have experienced.

I am a technologically challenged person. I had more than my share of reservation about moving from my faithful 35mm
camera to the world of digital. Despite this phobia, my husband purchased the Kodak 6440. I read the significant
parts of the manual and "played" with the features in a rather "crash course" round. Four days later I took it on
vacation! I've seen what it can do and am extremely pleased
with the clarity of shots I know my 35mm would never have
caught--night shots, scenery shots, and even a brief video.
Happy shooting...

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Easy to use right out of the box. No surprises

Weakness: Why the non-rechargeable battery? Couldn't they throw in an extra rechargeable battery?

Will definitely recommend to others.
Pricegrabber rocks! I looked all over town for this camera package and pricegrabber had the best prices around. This camera does it all and the battery life is not too bad either. Very clear pictures.

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: great pics ease of use very compact looks beautiful and hi tech

Weakness: none, really

As soon as I opened the camera the simple instructions had me snapping pictures in minutes.
The camera really takes beautiful shots under a variety of circimstances.
The instructions on the aperture setting and lens speed adjustments , in particular, are very well written.
I can't wait to start framing some really good shots and hanging them on the wall (or give to friends).

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Easy to use little camera.Nice looking screen.Loaded with nice features like aperture priority, and shutter speed priority.Menu makes it easy to make changes.User friendly camera is a huge plus.

Weakness: Lens is prone to lens flare.Flash is weak in the automatic mode, and has a tendency for the pictures to look dark just a few feet away. The look of the exposure on the LCD screen is misleading.

This is a disappointing camera from Kodak,I have been using cameras cameras for years, and I am unimpressed with the way it handles flash exposures. The exposures are on the darkside in the automatic mode.Set the ISO to 400,and use the Aperture prioriy mode to get better exposures.Lens flare shows up a lot when using flash, and is seen on dark clothing, and backgrounds.Very annoying. It looks like whitish spots, and if it is really bad,it will look like bubbles that are well spaced apart. This camera's lens has a poor lens coating to control flare. The loading dock is great. One button will get your shots into the computer. The Kodak software is a lot of fun.You can fix your prints easily,or use the cool special effects such as cartoon, fisheye, coloring book etc. to make pictures look cool.It is better than the Camera.

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Ease of use; sharpness of images; features

Weakness: 16 MB internal memory

I just got the Kodak Easyshare DX 6440 in the mail yesterday and am extremely pleased with my purchase. I was able to take pictures right out of the box. This camera also comes with the docking bay which makes transfers from the camera to the PC very easy. The docking bay also comes with a rechargeable battery pack. There is also included a lithium battery. Features that attracted me to this camera were the 4 MP; 4x optical zoom + 11x digital zoom = a total of 15x zoom; able to take Quicktime video clips; the included docking bay. I kind of wish I had went with the printer docking bay but for now my HP printer will do just fine for printing. The software that comes with the camera is very simple and well organized. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who is looking for a good quality digital camera but can't afford paying over $350.

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: 4x optical zoom. Docking station. 1.8" lcd display.

Weakness: Only annoyance is having to turn on the camera to view your shots on the lcd screen, which extends the lens.

I was looking for a reasonable priced 4mp camera-so you can blow up to 8x10 pics but the shots don't take up so much memory on the storage cards. This was a great compromise between a 3 and 5mp camera. The docking station is super easy; just push a button and it downloads your shots.
The 1.8" lcd screen is larger than most at 1.5"; when you are in your 40's you need a bigger screen to see! The 4x optical zoom lens is longer than any I saw on similar camera (most have only 3x). I did alot of research online re digital cameras and I think this was the best buy for the money. The camera has lots of great dial-in modes like macro, action, night time, landscape, portrait etc.
The Schneider lens is superior.
A great all around family camera...

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: ease of use

Weakness: shutter speed

This camera has everything I was looking for: a nice zoom, easy to use, powerful software. The only downside is the shutter speed seems to take longer than I would like. However, I haven't yet tried the sports setting, which is supposed to take faster pictures. Overall, this is a great camera.

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: One of the best digital cameras on the market. Interactive menus are very easy to use and do not take hours to figure out by reading a users manual.

Weakness: Does not come with a carrying case for the camera.

EasyShare feature is one of the key advantages of this product. It quickly allows you to take pictures and then download and distribute them to friends.

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Crisp pictures, easy to operate.

Weakness: Limited memory, software supports limited number of CD-R drives, limited battery life.

This is a very nice camera in that it takes crisp, clear pictures and that is easy to use. The software and easydock also make downloading and editing fun and easy. The only drawback for me is that the software does not yet support some hardware oin my computer which is very new. I hope Kodak updates their software frequently as new hardware becomes available(CD drives, etc.).

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: The camera is easy to use and figure out. I like the different photo setting and how it tells you what each on does on the screne. I also like the dock and how it keeps the batteries charged.

Weakness: I find that the photo selector knob needs to turn a little easier.

We have done a lot of research on digital cameras and tested different ones. This camera is so easy to use and the picture quality is excellent. I also like the docking system that comes with the camera. We are so pleased with this camera I would defintely recommend it to any looking at digital cameras.

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Light, intuitive operation, easy to use.

Weakness: LCD clarity is a little less than expected, and USB cable is non-standard. Also, it would've been nice if manual mode could control to both aperture and shutter speed (priority only)

Got it last week, tested over the weekend, and it works fine. I really like the intuitive control. Didn't have much luck with my older kodak, but I think I got the right one for me this time.

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Ease of using it.

Weakness: Manual: Certain sections are hard to understand such as the PSA section.

This is my second easyshare camera(dx4330 was the previous one). Haven't had much expreience with it, but it sure beats my previous one. The price of the camera with a dock 6000 that I paid can't be beat. Thanks pricegrabber.

Kodak EasyShare DX6440 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Optical Wide: All Family can be in the same picture.. Everyone can take Picture in Automode with Good Sesults.. No Red Eyes.. Excellet colors.. OverSharp picture (look cons.).. Sheap..

Weakness: OverSHARP means VERY GOOD picture IN THE DOCK, But not OK in normal Picture normal prosessing by PC:s.

You can buy this camera especially, when price is under 300 euros/US-dollars.
Good response for money. Takes Good Pictures escpecially Auto Mode.
Warnings: Power consuption (Rating 3V/2amp). Keep care of battery/accu economyes and Chargecies!
Picture Processing: Too Sharp picture causes too much Noisy.
So You cannot add crisp picture any more in your Computers picture processing Programs. Only You can to do is decrease noisy and sharpness and so... Picture goes backwards than original.
