DARKNESS

Strengths: Small Size, Takes long video at 640x480 fills up a 1gb card with 30 min of video. fast startup, fast focus, fast zoom

Weakness: Dark pictures at night times, weak flash, battery life is okay. about 130 shots or 30 min of video.

I refer to my camera as "darkness" because it takes lousy night time shots. I also own a Canon camera, the canon takes awesome night timepictures. Just to give you an example of how lame the night shots are, i can take video at night times and it still looks brighter than night time shots taken with or without flash. IF you want a compact camera that you can take around on social occasions, starbucks, clubs, dinners, this isn't the camera you want. since most social occasions are at night times, be ready for some DARK pictures.
Do your self a favor and buy a Fuji F30 instead, its a little more expensive but you won't regret it.

Kodak EasyShare V530 5 Megapixel Compact Camera -...

Strengths: great picture quality, easy to use, compact, 5MP, $100 cheaper than Casio 5MP

Weakness: battery life, need to use Kodak software or memory card reader to download pictures

Went to Belize for 8 days with new V530. Pictures came out great in all conditions (senic, moving, night time, at bars, sunset...). The camera used 2 full charges for about 300 pictures (with a lot of reviewing and playing). I highly recommend this product!

I am intrigued about your trip since I am also going to be taking the camera on a trip to Europe. How often did you charge/change the battery, along with how many pictures you took under one battery. Also you mentioned something about the changing of setting? intrigued as to those and if they would be able to help me

Easy Share V530

Strengths: Takes wonderful pictures. Easy setup. Good viewing screen.

Weakness: Not so easy to download to computer. I had to reload several programs the Kodak software deleted.

The camera does take wonderful pictures but downloading is a problem. I do like the camera but I am not a fan of the software. It overides ann other photo program on the computer. I was also sent a warranty in Chinese-not English.

pretty good

Strengths: size, goodlooking, optical zoom, pictures in good lighting

Weakness: pictures during in medium and low light and UI.

I have a Canon SD10 which is a pretty tiny camera. This Kodak is a little bigger, but very portable. The design is nice and sturdy.

Pictures taken with good lighting turn out very nicely, but when there's low or medium amounts of light, the pictures turn out a little grainy and dark (even with increased exposure).

One particular UI quirk is that when you are deleting pictures, the delete menu covers the picture you are deleting. So it feels dangerous when you are trying to delete pictures.

Overall, I'm pleased with the camera.

WOW! Now this is true point and shoot!

Strengths: FAST, sharp pics, small enough for a pocket. cheap storage cards

Weakness: None

I have had several digital cameras and this is the coolest. It is so fast that people don't have much chance to avoid the candid shots you wish you could get with other cameras. GET THIS!!

great ultra compact camera

Strengths: very fast, no shutter lag. Great photos. Easy to use

Weakness: Flash is average for an ultra compact which means it is not great

Wonderful camera. Takes great pics, and even does well with a fast moving two year old. Our old Sony p1 just could not keep up with our son. We would try to take the pic and by the time the camera fired he was gone. With the v530 we have no troubles getting the shots we want.

Very Good Camera

Strengths: Takes very good pictures; is very small and light; easy to use

Weakness: Sometimes the pictures taken in less light are not as good

Overall a very good camera; the best of all the cameras that I have had so far.

Everyone in my family loves the camera.

I have suggested this camera to a friend - who also purchased it and is also very happy with it.

Great camera

Strengths: size, stylish, easy to use, very good pictures, different picture settings, and more

Weakness: Need the doc to charge the battery, no view finder

I purshased this camera 2 weeks ago. It is really a great camera; it is very easy to use and takes great pictures. Several settings are also available for best use. Despite several warning from other reviewes, I found the battery life pretty good so far. Movie quality is also very good, and the camera allows to take a video clip for as long as the memory card will allow.

Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

Actually, you can charge the camera without the dock. You just need to plug the a/c adapter into the side of the camera instead of the dock.

I am plannin on purchasing this camera to tour Europe with however I have heard bad things in regards to battery life. What have your experiences been and could you estimate on how many batteries i would go through if I am taking pictures throughout the day?

Kodak EasyShare V530

Strengths: great looking, optical zoom, perfect size for pocket or purse, easy to use

Weakness: none

This is my third digital camera. It cost less than the others and is the best one yet.. It is easy to use and takes excellent clear, crisp pictures. I thought I would miss not having a viewfinder, but I have not. I would recommend this camera to the novice as well as the pro. You just can't not love it!

Great for the

Strengths: Quick boot-up, small size, easy to use, crystal clear screen, and more

Weakness: Buttons are small, battery life could be better (about 2 hours), write speed for video

This is a great camera for those who like to point and shoot. It will take the picture as soon as the button is pushed all the way. It will automatically detect the light level and flash brighter when it is darker and vice versa. This allows many pictures to be taken in a row.

The screen is HUGE for this size camera. It is one of the clearest screens I've seen on ANY digital camera. However, with such a large screen, no view finder was added.

The camera will allow you to take a video clip for as long as the memory card will allow, but not necessarily determined by the space on the card. I took a fairly long video and it cut out saying that the write speed was too slow for add-on memory and that video should be recorded to the internal memory. This was a bummer because I like long videos.

You need a fast memory card to record long video clips. Otherwise, the internal memory buffer fills up when the card can't write the video as fast as the video is captured. This is a limitation of the memory card, not the camera.

I purchased this camera for my sons 18th birthday. He has been very happy with the camera. All expectations have been met. I am also happy with the vendor, BUYDIG.COM. They were fast on delivery.

EasyShare V530 Black Digital Camera

Strengths: Ultra-compact, while still having full 5.0 MP with optical zoom and multiple settings

Weakness: Power & mode buttons very small

This was given as a gift and the reaction was pure delight and amazement. This camera is smaller than a deck of cards with more features than my "old" Kodak 5MP camera of only 2 years ago. The optics are crisp, especially for the compact size. The video quality, at the higher resolution (about 13 minutes on a 512 Mb card, is also good, again in view of the tiny size. Overall - a great camera to always keep in one's pocket.

Kodak EasyShare V530 Digital Camera Review

The Kodak EasyShare V530 hit the market in July 2005 and received a price reduction in November to make the camera an affordable choice for holiday buyers. Kodak shed fifty bucks from the original price tag so the stylish 5 megapixel digital camera is now $299.95.
