2 Star ReviewAffordable Camera with OK quality
Strengths: Not bulk, Advanced Modes, Video Mode Available
Weaknesses: Movie mode is not good. Pictures are not too exciting but OK.
Summary: This is a affordable camera with good image quality. There is slight lag when you take a picture, The camera can be used in Auto Mode so any member of your family can handle it.

Again affordable camera with a little compromise on picture quality and the camera operation

Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: NA
Summary:

This camera works like a dream. Would recommend it for the average person who wants a good camera for family, vacation photos etc. Takes very good indoor flash photos. Colors and resolution are excellent.

Has a good feel and easy operation. Lens retracts and lens cover closes when you turn it off.

At 4 megapixels you get more than enough resolution for 8 X 10 blowups.

Uses "XD" format picture (memory) cards. Would recommend you buy the 256 MB card or a 512 MB for a few more bucks. I purchased a Fuji 256 MB card and it works fine. Holds about 260 photos.

Can use two ordinary "AA" alkaline batteries. However would recommend the NiMh rechargeable batteries.

If you buy it, you wont be disappointed.

Strengths: SIMPLE!! Good picture quality.
Weaknesses: A little slow. Internal memory not used when card is installed.
Summary: Got this for my wife who is very non-technical. It's perfect for her: small and extremely easy to operate. A dial on back with very legible icons lets you select from program modes (portrait, landscape, night, etc.) -- very quick selection with no futzing with menus which usually confuse the techno-challenged. Beside the viewfinder are two buttons, one for shooting and one for reviewing making it very simple. Very easy navigation for the basic functions -- not sure it could be simpler.

It has a self-portrait programmed setting, too, for those arm-around-your-buddy shots; flash setting is perfect when used. Flash range is good but flash pix are slightly overexposed from five feet or less. They say max 12 feet flash range, but in a well-lit room, I got decent flash response from around 18 feet.

For those with so-so vision, the viewscreen is very easy to see, but direct sun on the screen can be a problem - no viewfinder to fall back on. Macro (1") and supermacro (.8") work well. Easy to download pix as the computer sees it as an attached storage device if USB is used -- no loading any software to retrieve pix. If the included software is used, basic editing, filing, etc., features pretty easy to use. With the Olympus xD cards, the softare lets you easily stitch photos together for panoramas.

All-in-all, for someone who needs a point-and-shoot with a decent feature set or who wants to learn the basics of digital photography, this really does the trick. As usual with Olympus, the picture quality and color accuracy is quite good. Consider also the FE-110 w/5MP vs. the FE-100's 4MP.

3 Star ReviewAffordable Entry-level camera
Strengths: Affordable, good quality pictures
Weaknesses: Next shot time above average
Summary: For an entry-level camera, this is very affordable. Good for first time users, especially as a gift for kids. With 4 megapixels, it is a bargain at just over $100. Got this camera with 256XD card for 120 after taxes. No viewfinder might be a problem when shooting bright subjects. Time to next shot is at least 5 seconds, which would also be a problem for sequential shots.

Strengths: Very nice Picture Quality , Easy to operate , Affordable range , Complete in Features
Weaknesses: With rechargable battery, camera shows low battery signal after short use only.
Summary: Camera is really fine in appearance , excellent picture quality . Only thing which disturb is its low battery signal. Camear start showing low battery signal quite quick

but it keep working for another hours with low battery signal.

In overall , i found it worth for money i spent.

Strengths: Easy to use, good quality pictures
Weaknesses: Slow between pictures
Summary: I brought this camera at Fry's for $80. It is very good for that price. Picture quality is good and it is very easy to operate. It is little slow between shots, which is a problem while taking continuous shots. Overall good camera for the price.

Strengths: Picture quality is great for the price, does exactly what it's described to do. Macro mode and Super Macro Mode work exceptionally well(very clear)
Weaknesses: Alkaline batteries do not last long enough, I suggest NIMH rechargeable batteries. Could use bit of a bigger LCD. There's no picture stabilization, especially crucial during zoomed shots.
Summary: Overall, this camera is a great purchase considering the facts that it does have a 2.8x optical zoom(basically,I didn't notice the difference when comparing a 3x op.zoom Fuji and the FE-100), pictures come out bright on the LCD which was a positive thing, and it's very simple to manage yet has a good number of different modes.

The camera could have been built with "picture stabilization" like the later models(FE-120,FE-140,etc...),but for the price and the brand name, it's a great buy for the beginner. One last thing, I suggest using a tripod whenever possible with this camera, trust me, pictures are very clear and detailed! Pretty much the only thing missing from this camera, once again, PICTURE STABILIZATION.

Strengths: Well made, compact and easy to use.
Weaknesses: Needs a better carry bag
Summary: Well what can I say, here is a camera that is easy for anyone to use. It is compact, very solid construction and has an excellent menu for the first time user through to the professionals. Picture quality is simply fantastic. The only downfall I feel is the carry bag, it would be great if you could carry two spare batteries as well as the USB cable and a mini charger. I bought one for my wife and was so impressed with the performance I went and bought one for myself.I have used a lot of digital cameras and I must say this one is an absolute gem.Cheers to all ..Terry Bloomfield
