Strengths: Good price and size. Very nice looking design. Great for someone who just wants a camera, but doesn't use it all the time.
Weaknesses: Battery life does not last long. You need a lot of light for the pictures to be clear and sharp. The flash might take a while to load.
Summary: You can print pictures out if you have a photo printer. Make sure you know and read about all the little features this camera has. Try to use the LCD for short periods of time to keep your battery life long.

Strengths: Descent Starter Camera and cheap.
Weaknesses: Very Grainy pictures and lousy battery life.
Summary: I purchased this camera as part of a rebate deal. The camera comes with 16mb built in memeory and a SD slot for upgrades. The quality of the pictures are ok and well suited for internet sale and as a simple starter point and shoot camera. The battery life is highly dpendant on using the screen and turning it off when done.Descent buy if you can get a good deal with it.

Strengths: It's an HP
Weaknesses: No manual zoom
Summary: Excellent entry level digital camera. Plug and play with iPhoto, no need for the accompanying software package. At the end of it's product cycle this 3+ MP was the best buy compared to other brands with similar features.

Strengths: Simple to setup and use. HP software works well for most routine photo work.
Weaknesses: No optical only digital zoom-prevents seeing what you have by looking through the viewfinder. Must use the LCD to preview the photo.
Summary: Easy to use camera. Great entry-level camera and the price is very competitive for the quality. The sliding lens cover doubles as the power switch- could result is a battery power drain if bumped on. SD memory expansion in addition to 16MB internal memory is nice-but you can't use both simultaneously.

This camera is clearly aimed at beginners. It has ...
Strengths: Easy to use, can take video clips, 16MB built in memory
Weaknesses: Mediocre image quality, low battery life, boxy and unattractive, small and grainy LCD, no optical zoom
Summary: This camera is clearly aimed at beginners. It has no optical zoom and no manual features. Everything is done for you - the camera has auto focus and auto white balance. It comes with 16MB of internal memory (expandable using SD cards), so it's ready to use right out of the box.
Image quality is mediocre, at best. Colors aren't very accurate. The camera has a tendency to oversharpen the images often, leading to a very grainy picture. In low light, the camera struggles to autofocus - many pictures come out blurry. This camera also struggles to take well focused pictures if your subject is moving even slightly. The "action" shutter speed mode seems to do almost nothing to help.
The LCD is small and grainy - one of the worst LCD's I've seen on a digital camera. At times, it's almost unusable. This camera does have a Quicktime movie mode; however, the movie quality is extremely poor.
In conclusion, I won't recommend this camera to anyone, even a child. For the $150 that this camera retails for, you can get a significantly better camera, such as the Nikon 3200 or the Fuji A330. Both of these cameras have 3X optical zoom and far superior picture quality than this HP.

Basic point-and-shoot digital camera
Strengths: Light and easy to carry around; decent picture quality; video and audio capture; inexpensive.
Weaknesses: No optical zoom; bloated HP softwares.
Summary: Not a bad digital camera for a first time user like myself. Fairly easy to use and pictures are ok as long as the object you're trying to capture isn't too far away. Optical zoom would greatly help here but the price would be significantly higher too. The digital zoom does wonder up to a certain point, until you start seeing pixels on the LCD screen. I've been using rechargeable batteries from the beginning, and turning off the camera after each shot, so I can't really comment on the power usage (especially of the LCD screen). One thing I don't particularly like is the fact that when I installed the driver/software, five new icons appeared on my desktop, three of which have been utterly useless.

Couldn't imagine an easier to use set up... but wi ...
Strengths: It was cheap, got it in a bundle deal with a compact photo printer. Small and pretty.
Weaknesses: Horrible battery life though i've found recharageables do last a little longer... i'm not sure that they're reccomened though. Unless lighting is perfect pictures are super grainy.
Summary: Couldn't imagine an easier to use set up... but with conveniece comes a price. i went through a 12 pack of batteries the first week i had it, first few photos were perfect and i was amazed, later in the day i found that perfect photos were few and far between as you need perfect, natural lighting. But, yeah, it's cheap & easy i take lots of pics of my cats with it.

Strengths: Sturdy build, yet feels light. Light drain on batteries. Pictures are rather sharp for a camera without optical zoom.
Weaknesses: Well, it only has dig zoom. Many other similar equipped cameras are available with more features.
Summary: I really liked this camera as a back up and I let me kid bring it to school. It's something I don't have to worry about being knocked about and stuff as it is a sturdy camera. Rather a plain Jane in the looks dept but it does deliver a nice picture and it can be printed without the need for a computer too. Of course with a computer u can send it to print or email a picture right off.

Strengths: Low price, compact size.
Weaknesses: Regular batteries (not Lithium).
Summary: For the price, you can't beat this camera. 3.1 MP is all you need for 4X6 pictures and the HP name is very reliable. Good camera for the price.

Product Review Photosmart 435 Digital Camera (3.1MP, 2048x1536, 16MB Internal Memory).
Strengths: easy to use. User friendly. transfering the files is easy
Weaknesses: Power consumption too high.
Summary: 2005-08-16 06:22:32 You don't need to read the instructions manual because it is easy to use. It has a microphone built in that makes your video recording with sound. Most cameras don't have it. Once you connect the cable to the computer and turn camera on, the system starts to transfer the files to your computer.
Power consumption of this camera looks like it is too high because batteries' life is too short.

Strengths: EASY TO USE
Weaknesses: N/A
Summary: I HAVE BEEN USING THE HEWLETT PACKARD 435 DIGITAL CAMERA FOR 7 WEEKS NOW. IT TAKES VERY CLEAR PICTURES AND IT VERY EASY TO USE. THE BUTTONS ARE SIMPLE YET THEY HAVE COMPLEX FUNCTIONS. EVEN MY KIDS COULD USE IT AND TAKE GOOD PICTURES. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT FOR THE MONEY

Strengths: Very simple to use as you just go through the menu to make any changes.
Weaknesses: Don't like the digital zoom as you can't see what you have by looking through the viewfinder.Needs a better on off switch as the sliding front one doesn't work very well.
Summary: Very nice looking and easy to use camera. Great for getting into digital photography at a resonable price. Don't like the way sliding the lens cover turns camera on as it is very easy to turn camera on when you don't want to if camera is in coat pocket. Batteries don't last very long as I feel I'm always putting in new ones after taking 50 or 60 photos. No extra card comes with camera and then you have to spend another $40.00 or so on a larger smart card. Otherwise a well made easy to use first digital camera.
