Leica support only less.
Strengths: Lens sharpness, simplicity of use, size and weight.
Weakness: Noise, support, and the fact that Panasonic issues the same camera for hundreds less ( though I will admit that Leica gives twice the warranty.)
I actually think it is a very brilliant camera though there are weak points. The primary criticism of the camera is that it is quite noisy with ISOs greater than 100. Secondly, I received my camerawith a defect- the image stabilization function wasn't functioning. I was forced to deal with Leica's support which, though they were quick to repair the camera, they were so no responsive to my calls. They did not return calls, never told me just when the camera would be returned and just what was done to the camera. Finally, it was near impossible to get a live person on the phone.

Leica-D-Lux 2 digital camera
Strengths: Intelligent design. Versatile. Easy to use.
Weakness: Only aluminum like surface available. Would prefer black.Costly as compared to others in it,s class.
A costly versatile camera compared to others . very
easy to use. Briliant screen with great detail. Picture quality is equal to that of the SLR'S.
The speed of 1/2000th of a second and zoom make it ideal for many high action sports events such as basketball.

It's a Leica!
Strengths: Brilliantly sharp photos...even when hand held. Easy to operate once you get the hang of it...which doesn't take long.
Weakness: Only wish it had 10X zoom instead only 4X. Price is a bit steep (still worth it)
I've owned this little beauty for nearly a year now...and I love it. Read the booklet well before using it...the play with it for a bit. By then, you should have more than the basics. I use the 100 setting and get superb results...but have pushed it to 400 with OK results..still prefer 100. Use a tripod for the best possible phots imaginable.
There is a quick switchable picture size on the lens up to 16.9 HD widescreen which is extremely easy and helpful.
I really like the manual pop-up flash instead of automatic pop-up. Thus I can be sure it won't flash when I absolutly don't want it to.
I've also pushed the zoom its max with good results as long as you use the 80 or 100 settings.
I also like the tight fitting carrying case...my extra battery fits inside perfectly.
