If you're using this in bright...
Strengths: Easily fits into back pocket, so it goes anywhere with you. Quick startup, so going from off to ready-to-shoot takes less than 2 seconds. Good pic quality if bright and well-lit subjects.
Weakness: Shots requiring a flash leave me disappointed.
If you're using this in bright settings or in a well-lit room, it's a perfect camera (if you don't mind the prices of the memory and batteries). Small, lightweight, easy to use.
But in low-light where you need a flash, use something else. The flash is weak; the subject has to be no further than 5 or 6 feet from the camera. Everything behind the subject will be dark (not just night shots with a scenic view behind, even in a small room where the background is only a few feet beyond the subject). But then, if you move the subjects closer than about 2 feet, it becomes washed out and makes the background appear even darker.
I love the camera, but knowing what I know about it now, I would buy something else (in fact, I'm selling my whole setup to my friend, who I've informed of the camera's shortcomings, and buying a Canon).

a bit pricey, but if you look...
Strengths: small lots of features 5.1Mp quick picture taking 2.5" screen
Weakness: short battery life needs a lot of adjustment for really good pictures - you must delve into all the settings and can't rely on auto mode weak flash no tripod mount pics not so sharp in low light
a bit pricey, but if you look around online you can find it cheaper. I would probably get a different camera - there are so many great quality 5MP cameras out there for ~$300 that are better quality. It can take great pics, but you really have to know the adjustments because the automatic settings can't always be trusted. Once you get to know the settings and try different settings in different situations and practice you can get good pics. it's not too hard to get around in the advanced settings and you can get great pictures if you know what you're doing. Don't let the sleek sexy looks fool you, this is not a simple camera!

At first, I was very excited about...
Strengths: Great LCD. Awseome size. Fantastic menu options. Portability. Incredible design.
Weakness: Extremely weak flash. Horrible flash photos. Decent daytime photos. No case.
At first, I was very excited about this camera. The size of the LCD, the size of the camera and the 5.1mp, seemed like the perfect camera to me. Unfortunately, the quality of the pictures are not that great. Daytime photos are somewhat dull and lack-lustre. This isn't a huge problem because I use iPhoto and the "enhance" feature takes care of most of this problem. I could have been happy with this camera with that work around but, unfortunately, the T-1 misses the boat big time with it's weak flash. The flash photos are terrible! If you're more than just 3 to 4 feet away from your subject, you'll have a terrible picture due to the lack of light. The colors are way off and the photos are extremely noisy. I have a 1.3 mp camera that takes better flash photos. No software that I know of can correct these problems.
According to the other reviews, this cameral obviously works for many people. For me, yes, the size and features mean a whole lot. But the main thing is the quality of the pictures. I have had several digital cameras in this same price range and I think that the quality of the T-1's flash photos are totally unacceptable.
One last thing. If you're still planning on getting this camera, the iPod clip on case works fantastic!

great camera to carry in your...
Strengths: size, convenience of operation, docking station's ease of charging and downloading pix, appearance (Cool factor), large LCD, menus, controls, lens cover,
Weakness: flash photos, timer photos, sensitive to hand-movement
great camera to carry in your shirt pocket. Unobtrusively takes great photos, once you learn the correct adjustments. Nothing more to say, except plan on spending some hours with the 120 page instruction manual.

This is a really good point and...
Strengths: Excellent 5MP photos. Very compact. Very high "cute" factor. Excellent video mode, esp. 640 fine (30fps). Ability to crop photos/video clips in camera. Macro ability excellent. Multiburst mode great!
Weakness: Red eye is significant. Almost too small, can easily fall out of your hands. No manual focus, white balance, aperture, shutter speed. Flash is weak/very limited range. No tripod mount.
This is a really good point and shoot camera with excellent quality photos. We especially like its ability to crop in the camera and maintain the quality of the photo. I like the multiburst mode to study golf swings and action sequences without having to use movie mode.
The red eye is a problem but usually easy to fix with editing software. A tripod mount on the docking station would be nice; a tripod mount on the camera would be nicer!
Overall, we are really enjoying this camera. If the flash were better, tripod mount, more manual controls, it would be almost the perfect camera.

This is a great camera to keep...
Strengths: Camera is very compact, takes great pictures, very easy to operate, large screen
Weakness: Accessories are very expensive, must keep camera steady when taking pictures,
This is a great camera to keep with you, convenient, and captures great pictures. I highly recommend this camera to someone who doesn't mind spending some money for the memory stick.

I really wanted to like this...
Strengths: Small, easily fits in any pocket. Sliding cover is a great idea. The video was neat, better quality than the snapshots.
Weakness: Took awful, awful pictures.
I really wanted to like this camera. It cost hundreds more than others I looked at (S410, Pentax s4i, etc.) But it was so compact, easy to carry, great docking bay that automatically fires up the software, BUT THE PICTURES SUCKED! Fortunately I bought it at best buy (salesman couldn't get their floor model to take a decent pic either) and I took it back. Bought a Pentax S4i and love it. Cheaper too and 4 meg of good pic is way better than 5 meg of blurry, slurry, poorly lit pic.

I wanted a high quality compact...
Strengths: Can fit in your pocket. Big LCD. 15 min 30fps movies w/512MB card.
Weakness: Overall picture quality disappointing. Flash pix other than close ups are very poor.
I wanted a high quality compact camera and bought this one in Tokyo when it first came out. It's generally been a disappointment. My previous camera was an Epson 800 and the pictures looked so off on the T1 comparatively, I thought something was wrong with the camera at first. I work at night and was shocked to see how bad the flash pix were. Daytime shots in good light look OK but that's about it. Not a good value. If this were a much cheaper camera, the poor quality pictures wouldn't be a surprise and the pay off would be its size. Not recommended.

I wanted a small point and shoot...
Strengths: size, solidity of construction, picture quality, features
Weakness: no tripod socket
I wanted a small point and shoot camera after I had a Canon S10 for 4 years. My original aim was to get a Pentax, but after handling it in a photo shop, I decided it was too flimsy and the next closest offering was the Sony DSC-T1. I am glad I did not buy on the internet for I would have been locked into an inferior product. I love the features, the big size LCD, the lens that does not protrude and its cover protecting it in transit. Good job Sony, I highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys a quality product.

Strengths: Convienient to carry, takes excellent photos and is easy to use.... The large lcd monitor is a pleasure
Weakness: Important to focus on keeping the camera steady..... At such a light weight it's easy to move the camera when taking photos..... Memory sticks are expensive
This camera is just plan fun.... I carry it in a PDA case and hardly know it's there..... The photographs are excellent and the camera is easy to use.... I would recommend this camera highly...

Overall it is a pretty good...
Strengths: Very Compact, Easy to carry, Big LCD screen, Very fast start up, Great movie mode.
Weakness: Average picture quality, Weak flash, High price for memory stick pro duo media.
Overall it is a pretty good digital camera. Could have been better if Sony improve the picture quality and the flash. If you are looking for a compact digital camera with alot of features. Look no further this is THE one.

I love this camera. Basically is...
Strengths: Compact, Great 2.5" LCD, very fashionable, excellent picture quality, optical zoom works great with all settings, easy menu options, free cam strip, and software suppport for all OS.
Weakness: 32meg memory not enough need at least 64mb to 128mb for video clips, need carrying bag, and weak battery life when pic taken at 5meg pixel and under video settings.
I love this camera. Basically is just point and shoot. This is my first camera and I have tried over 20 digital camera before I land my money on this one. Its a bit pricy about $499 at BestBuy but I learn all the functions in about 30 mins.

Took the camera to the NY Auto...
Strengths: Quick response from cold start - multi-burst function outstanding, movie mode terrific with addl 256k pro memory stick, excellent auto focus, good battery life, compact, easy to use, & menu logical.
Weakness: Red eye was seen on a number of shots, unsure if technique or camera, must get the 256k memory stick- $100+ cost, no tripod access, no protective cover for led screen
Took the camera to the NY Auto Show and it was superb. Took over 100 pics with hi resolution using the 256k memory and never needed the additional battery I brought along, and I used the camera non-stop for at least 3 hours.
On another occasion, I used the camera for taking people shots and noticed a number of red-eyes, and I remain concerned that it may not be technique as I used different methods to minimize it without help... Anyone know out there how to get rid of it successfully, please assist...
Overall, it is the best 5.0 mega pixels compact camera available with software that works great on Windows. The camera interfaces well on my iMac using Apple's software and easy to connect using the supplied USB cable and docking station.
Lastly, I'm glad I got it and I find it a fun camera to have around with you in your pocket when you otherwise wouldn't want to be seen wandering around with a much larger 5.0 mega pixel camera hanging around your neck looking like a tourist.

This camera beats ANY camera for...
Strengths: Ultra Compact - fits in my pocket, very good pictures, very good movies/sound(!), large LCD screen.
Weakness: More expensive and rare Memory stick Pro Duo, 512mb.
This camera beats ANY camera for "point & shoot" user like me and the main reason - ultra compact size. Very comfortable high quality camera. I spent extra $100 for 256mb Pro Duo memory, however still looking for "out of stock" 512MB.

This is the first camera I have...
Strengths: Large LCD. Small size. This camera has features I never knew existed, but hope to master.
Weakness: It's a little on the pricy side. Consequently, it may be my last camera.
This is the first camera I have owned in many years, and I just love it. It is the perfect camera for my vacation to Europe this summer. I am having fun experimenting with all the features. And have not yet had a problem with the limited flash capabilities, that I read so much about before my purchase. Most of my indoor shots are close ups.

I purchased it from Bestbuy. It is...
Strengths: Very light, big LCD screen
Weakness: battery life, and so so picture quality
I purchased it from Bestbuy. It is a good Digital camera overall, and I would recommend to my friends. Afterall it has the biggest LCD screen in the DC world. The picture quality is so so, not the highest quality comparing to the other DCs at the similar price range.

Camera is everything that it was...
Strengths: True Pocket sized, Jumbo LCD, Charging and assessory cradle
Weakness: Cost of Pro Duo Memory Stick, Lack of availability of Pro Duo Memory Stick, Lack of View Finder
Camera is everything that it was advertised to be. It is even smaller in person than the pictures show. Camera can placed brought everyplace for all your picture needs. The pictures taken thus far are pretty high quality. Outdoors this camera is a no brainer, however it needs a stronger flash for indoor pictures, thus on my review it does not earn top stars. However given the size and the GEE-WOW factor, this camera is still very pleasing to me. New memory is a bummer, it is not availabile in larger sizes anywhere at retail stores or on the internet except for full retail at the Sony site. Sony how about making more memory!

This camera is a big...
Strengths: Small Size. Intuitive controls and easy to adjust the settings.
Weakness: Many. Poor picture quality in full sun. High cost of memory. LCD image is washed out. Poor performance in low light. Many images out of focus. Slow lens.
This camera is a big disappointment. If you like good quality pictures do not purchase it. The lens speed is very slow, meaning poor depth of field and out of focus shots. The picture quality is worse than my 2.2 MPix DX-3500 from Kodak. And with this lens you need to stand back real far to get a wide enough view to fit a few people into the photo. The outside surface of the camera is very slippy which makes it is easy to slide out of your hand and drop. The attached strap needs a means to adjust it so that it can be sized correctly around my hand (I added a tight rubber band). The memory is expensive. The LCD is very large but the image is all washed out making it difficult to see. I'd much prefer a smaller LCD with a brighter image. This camera is a big disappointment for someone wanting good quality photos. I'd like to return it for a real camera!!

I would highly recommend this...
Strengths: Tons of features with a compact design. User friendly menu and setup option with great supporting manual. Most of all the quality of your photos under all different lighting conditions is amazing.
Weakness: For the price of the camera I wished they had included more accessories and a larger capacity memory stick.
I would highly recommend this camera for the average user wanting it all in one compact unit. The added bonus of taking 640x480 movies is a terrific plus. The large LCD display view finder is so vivid and crisp. It helps you line up your photos with a grid mapping and so many options to ensure you get the best quality picture under even the most difficult lighting conditions. Sony has out done itself in the camera marketplace this time!!!

I love the compact size, picture...
Strengths: Fantastic picture clarity and quality..easy to operate..owner's manual is easy to follow
Weakness: Memory stick and battery in same opening space.
I love the compact size, picture quality, and ease of operation. I could figure out how to operate this camera including hooking up the cradle to my computer to view and e-mail the pictures without any help from my husband. The owner's manual is written in basic, understandable terms and the picture quality is fantastic.

good picture quality, images can't...
Strengths: compact size, sliding lens cover turns camera on and off, easy to use controls, large LCD screen
Weakness: difficult to see images in LCD screen in bright sunlight or low light conditions, lack of viewfinder can be a problem in these instances.
good picture quality, images can't be seen in LCD screen in bright sunlight or low light conditions and since there is no viewfinder, it's difficult to frame the photos properly. The custom fit camera case that can be purchased allows you to take pictures without removing the camera from the case and allows full access to the controls while protecting the camera.
A viewfinder would make the camera much better.

Very small camera, you can forget...
Strengths: very small, big display
Weakness: quality of pictures with the flash is not so good. The price of the memory duo is still too high.
Very small camera, you can forget to have it in your pocket!
The quality of the pictures is pretty high and could be better when you use the flash.
High quality movies, but you need at least the 512mb for almost 7 minutes. (512mb is now the biggest)
Highly recommend this Sony camera.

I have read many reviews and this...
Strengths: Size - Very small, smaller than the pics do justice for. Very solidly built. Good battery life. Very good picture quality.
Weakness: No tripod mount. Size requires VERY solid handling when taking pictures (anything more than minimal movement will result in minor to sever blurring).
I have read many reviews and this is a responce to many:
Red-Eye is not an issue with this camera. Red-Eye reduction on the DSC-T1 defaults to off. Turn it on and your set. The flash is *NOT* weak. There are many different settings to this camera, though fairly intuitive you must read the manual. For dark settings you should be within 10 feet of the subject you are taking a picture of. The video quality on this camera is fantastic. The detail on day picutres is great.

Strengths: Very high quality pictures; easy to use; fast
Weakness: Screen in sunlight sometime difficult to see
My first digital camera; although my wife has an
early Sony. This camera is idiot proof as evidenced
by the fact that I can use it!! Extremely high quality
photographs; digital is going to make film the buggy
whips of the 21st century. Highly recommend this
camera.

I recommend this product. This is...
Strengths: Small and intuitive to use. I like close-up (1 cm) capability. Zoom of previously taken photos great. Good battery life. Slips in pocket.
Weakness: Relatively expensive memory.
I recommend this product. This is my first digital and I love it. Large viewing screen is great. Accessories not available at retailers. Excellent value all things considered. Should come with a case though.

In concept, this camera has a...
Strengths: Size, construction, lithium-ion battery
Weakness: Small front lens element (let alone the lens group), periscopic lens design, no optical view finder, large screen
In concept, this camera has a great idea... it was probably cooked up by a computer guy and a graphic designer... but for anyone who needs to take indoor or bright outdoor pictures... it is not suggestable. The small lens and periscopic lens design chokes out "natural light" photography (aka. without flash) while outdoor photos are tough because the screen gets washed out in daylight. Sony is no Canon or Nikon, but if you must, consider the P100... fast, accurate, AMAZING battery life.

Strengths: small and compact
Weakness: weak shots, you have to stand absoulatly still otherwise you get a horrable really blurry shot. IT SUCKS, DONT BUY IT!!!!!!!!
i have been looking to buy a new camera for a while. I looked at the cybershoot and it looked awesome. But dont let looks fool you. Its a waste of your money, features arent clear and picture quailty is really bad.

Easy to store in your pocket but...
Strengths: Small and easy to operate
Weakness: Poor flash, poor picture quality
Easy to store in your pocket but in my opinion it is not worth the money. My old Olympus d450 takes better pictures as well as my $149 Kodak (this takes amazing pictures}. The biggest problem with this camera is that pictures tend to blur in moderate to low light levels. Plan on about one third of your pictures coming out. As for the flash if it is not within 8 feet don't even think about it. If I had to rate this from 1 to 10 I would have to give it a 6.
