Good cheap point n shoot

Strengths: Battery life, low cost, non-proprietary battery, solidly constructed brushed aluminum body. Easy to use.

Weakness: Not exactly feature-laden.

This is a good point n shoot camera. It is cheap. The only aspects I've noticed that are above average are its battery life, which is quite good, the build of the casing which is very solid, & the user interface that is very intuitive. Image quality is average at best, slightly lower than average in most conditions (compared to other ~$100 point n shoot cameras). Like many other inexpensive point n shoot cameras, its low light picture capability is poor.

Nice Camera

Strengths: Good quality and features

Weakness: N/A

I purchased this camera for every day click and shoot photos. It is working great and has some nice features. The 7MP is more than needed for everyday photos. The red eye removal feature is very nice.

HP M627 Digital Camera

Strengths: Comes with a large memory card, high mega pixel output

Weakness: Needs a more powerful optical zoom

The camera has been a nice camera for what I'm using it for. However, I wish it had a more powerful optical zoom. This is one of the few cameras that HP sells that doesn't have a battery built in and you can use standard size batteries in.

A simple camera for everyone

Strengths: 7MP point-and-shoot camera with a 3X zoom. Easy-to-use built-in help screens. Nice looking and strong brushed-aluminum body.

Weakness: No viewfinder. Limited choice of settings

A feature of this M627 that I liked is that the camera allows the users to quickly and easily add creative effects and borders to their photos right on the camera using the HP Design Gallery; I can can choose up to 10 different borders, including burnt, soft or torn edges, 12 different artistic effects, such as kaleidoscope, retro and slimming, and four unique color tints. The HP Photosmart Express feature is also nice; it makes makes sharing, printing and saving digital photos easy. The drawback of the camera that I found was the lack of sharpness and color accuracy when taking pictures in night time.

Thanks for your review which I found useful. I really agree with you about the lack of viewfinder - it is a major weakness. Particularly as I only use the camera periodically & in between I forget what adjustment I need to make between what I can see on the LCD screen & what I will get in my photo!. My next camera will definitely have a viewfinder.
