Olympus D-460 Zoom 1280x960 8MB

Strengths: takes great pictures, simple to use, panorama mode

Weakness: needs branded memory card for full features, no mpeg, poor macro functionality, lcd sucks batteries fast

This camera speaks for itself. Easy to use, menu driven, point and shoot. has optical viewfinder along with LCD display. I use this camera exclusively for my pictures now, and I wont go back to film! You can't go wrong with this camera

Olympus D-460 Zoom 1280x960 8MB

Strengths: More features than most need. GREAT Panoramas! Records light that is not visible in low-light situations. Durable camera

Weakness: Hard on batteries - carry spares. Occasionally misfocuses in very low light.

I LOVE this camera! Breathtaking panoramas. Beautiful color. This camera is tough. I dropped it onto a boat deck and it wasn't affected. People who see my pictures are often so impressed they ask what camera I used. I would buy another Olympus.

Olympus D-460 Zoom 1280x960 8MB

Strengths: Amazingly Great Pictures... for the amount of MP in it.

Weakness: compatibility and software

love love love this camera and have been completely satified with the quality, I will stick with Olympus most likely when I upgrade insead of going with a more popular make and model

Olympus D-460 Zoom 1280x960 8MB

Strengths: easy to use, great pictures, small, uses AA batteries

Weakness: only 1.3mp

This was my first digital camera and I love it. It is very easy to use and has lots of great features. 3x optical zoom, adjustable "film" speeds, adjustable resolution, macro, timer. The built in lens cover is great because it protects your lens even in your pocket and doesn't accidently turn on and drain your batteries. I recommend nimh batteries for this camera. Have a back up set and either a 1hr. or 15min. charger and you're good to go. The only complaint I have about this camera is that it's only 1.3mp, but then you know that when you buy it. I HAVE pulled off 8x10's with this camera that aren't too bad, though if this is what you want to do, I recommend you pick a higher mp camera. This is an EXCELLENT choice for a first camera, and the software helps make your prints even better.
