Toshiba PDR M60 1800x1200 4MB

Strengths: Easy to use. Nice resolution for the price. Very nice outdoor pictures.

Weakness: Not very good in low light and night time situations.

I have had my Toshiba for over two years, and maybe because it's my first digital camera, but I think that it's a very nice camera for the price. It has served me very well and has not given me any of the problems mentioned above. It's not very good in low light situations, and the shutter speed is kind of slow, but for some one starting out and wants a decent easy to use camera, it's pretty good!

Toshiba PDR M60 1800x1200 4MB

Strengths: took a few good shots af my dog, but...come on...$400 for two years of use??

Weakness: Very very bad technical support, kept asking for my credit card before even could tell me if this camera repairable at all, wouldn't even listen about the problem.

I was looking to repair this camera, but after reading one of the reviews here about this camera, I decided to dump it in the trash. Same exact problem as described by reviewer yahmonjn, from NJ.
Started showing battery problem when I wasn't even using batteries but AC adapter. Was clicking for a few days and making noise until it finally went completely dead. Wouldn't work with batteries either.
2.5 years and $400 later(that was the cost in 2001) and $60 for AC Adapter I'm looking for a new camera again.

Toshiba PDR M60 1800x1200 4MB

Strengths: FlashDisk and SmartMedia

Weakness: Poor Quality Camera. Poor Customer Support from Toshiba.

I bought the Toshiba PDR-M60 camera brand-new in December of 2000. Within a few months, it just stopped working. Wouldn't turn on or off. (Battery/power supply was fine). Sent it in to be fixed under warranty.

Shortly after the one year warranty expired, some of its functionality stopped working. First, I couldn't go backward to see any previous pictures. A few weeks after that, the playback feature stopped working. The LCD worked fine, I could see the pictures immediately after taking them, and I could get the menu up. But I could not see any stored pictures.

Then the camera stopped working altogether. First, it just wouldn't snap pictures. Then it wouldn't even turn on or off. It would sometimes flicker on and off for a short time (the battery indicator was full). Finally it would never turn back on.

I called Toshiba Support to complain. They would not pay for any repairs because it was no longer under warranty. I had the camera for about a year and a half. Even though it had broken once before within the warranty period with the same problem, they would not guarantee it. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told a supervisor would call back. Two weeks later, after not receiving a call, I called again. After an apology, I was told I would receive a call back. A month later, after I did not get the second call I was promised, I sent email. No response to that either. Extremely poor customer support!

I am very dissatisfied with the camera and the company's customer support.

Toshiba PDR M60 1800x1200 4MB

Strengths: Easy to use. Good resolution for the price. Very nice outdoor pictures.

Weakness: Pictures indoors are dim and underexposed. Mode dial tends to come off after a couple of years and is an expensive repair.

Toshiba has made a nice little camera. It performs well in terms of picture taking and would be good value for the price except for the common failing of the mode dial breaking. This is a serious problem and is the chief reason you should avoid this product.

This particular camera was the first digital camera I had and it was a gift to me 4 years ago. For it being the first digital camera I had, I thought for the most part it was a good camera. However, I did not like it's size and slow picture taking. It does however, take good pictures. But after 4 years of use, the dial mode button came off. Sounds like Toshiba has a problem with this happening. I am now in the market for a new camera as the repair price to fix it is expensive. I will keep in mind as to the location of the dial mode so it cannot be bumped and fall off. I am not upset too much because I have had the camera for 4 years.
