Strengths: Great value for money. This camera can do a LOT for the price -- great zoom, SLR like manual controls, and pretty low shutter lag. Controls and menu are intuitive. A winner in it's price class!
Weaknesses: Feels a little plasticky and cheap; Autofocus not so hot in low light; No audio in video mode; only 16 MB SD card provided; No image stabilizer. But hey, for $200, nothing else comes close!
Summary: I come from an SLR background, but am not yet ready to shell out the big bucks for a digital SLR. The Z10 gives me what I need (high optical zoom, low shutter lag, manual controls for more creative photography, as well as automatic overrides for point and shoot simplicity) while keeping the price nice and low. Sure, it's only a 3 MP camera, but that will more than suffice for my standard album-size prints. The controls and menu are intuitive and well laid out. The display is crisp and bright, the flash is powerful, and the battery usage is surprisingly economical. I like the feel of this camera, and I trust the Minolta name. This camera is a perfect compromise between an expensive digital SLR and a cheap digital point and shoot. The Z10 is a well thought-out and nicely designed camera that can fill a wide range of needs, and the $200 price-point is outstanding.
