Fujifilm Finepix 40i
Strengths: Great Macro, great resolution, great color. Tiny and durable metal case. A bunch of SM cards fit in my wallet. Fast recharge batt. Easy controls.
Weakness: Digital telephoto only, but I don't mind since the photos are so detailed and easy to crop. No hard drive for the mp3's, no big deal.
This is the best in quality features and space saving portability for any camera I've had a chance to play with. I have owned other digicams that I was happy with, though this one has been exponentially better in practicality and usability. I have had it with me in my pocket for many travels without a hitch.
I can take great quality images with this camera that is painless to take along everywhere. It fit in my pocket along with a cell phone in the jungle, mountains, at sea, islands, and has been running around with me in any metropolis. So small I can totally palm it for outstanding candid stills and video!
The mp3 player is great to have a little music to keep you entertained on your adventures. Sure, it doesn't have a large hard drive to carry my whole collection of tunes, but given the size and quality of features, I leave my other mp3 and CD players at home and bring this little Fuji along instead with a few extra super thin Smart Media cards in my wallet for fun. It seems like a clever bonus.
Digital telephoto only, but I don't mind, since I can crop any of the crystal clear 2400 X 1800 images it produces to a functional size for snapshots.
