Strengths: Excellent Digital SLR for a great price especially for Amateurs, Very good picture quality, excellent zoom, if autofocus does not allow your to focus, allows one to manually focus in diffucult cond.

Weakness: Autofocus is takes time in poor light conditions as with most SLRS, excessive use of flash can drain battery and can be especially anoying sometimes, remedy-extra battery and quick charger

I have had some of the best pictures with this camera, excellent for novices learning to use digital SLRs, EXCELLENT reproduction, magnifier allows one to manually focus in almost any light conditions. Has a macro feature which allowes one to take macro shots withought any need for an expensive macrolens

Fujifilm Finepix 4900 Digital Camera

Strengths: Great resolution, Good battery life, Easy to Use, Lots of features.

Weakness: LCD Viewfinder, Autofocus.

I bought this camera several monthes ago looking for something with a large optical zoom. It has been by far the best camera I have owned. I have taken thousands of pictures with it which have come out great. The only complaints I have about it is the autofocus is poor. Also an attachement is needed to add different lenses or filters which crops the picture.

Fujifilm Finepix 4900 Digital Camera

Strengths: Excellent picture control. Enough features to keep a camera nerd busy for years. Was always pleased with the images, and that's what really counts.

Weakness: Auto-focus and the LCD's are not so great, but have obviously been greatly improved on the S602. Have had a problem with overexposures in sunlight and had to send it back to Fuji for repair.

I am not pleased with Fuji's turnaround time for repairs. They take a minimum of 3-4 weeks and their minimum charge is $200. I would recommend avoiding the 4900, but would not hesitate in buying the S602. I think that Fuji fixed the 4900 with the S602.
