Fujifilm FinePix E510 5.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Easy to use, pictures seem very clear, price, size Weakness: The LCD screen is not easy to view to take photos in low light situations. xD-Picture Cards are a little bit more expensive than other memory cards. I am not a professional photographer, so I am looking for a few things in a camera: 1. quality pictures, 2. the right price 3. ease of use. This camera provides all 3. I have taken pictures in several light situations and have been happy with it in all of them. For a 5.2 mexapixel camera, the price is definitely right. I examined other similar cameras such as the Sony Cybershot DSC-P93 and the Canon Powershot A95, and they were much more expensive. I spent a very short time in the manual before understanding how to use this camera. It is very easy. The camera is compact yet comfortable to handle. 99% of readers found this review helpful. Fujifilm FinePix E510 5.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Size, battery life, spot metering, shutter speed control Weakness: Must change settings from auto under some low light conditions and when either subject or background have different light levels. The Fuji E510 addresses the problems that we have had with the 2 previuos digital cameras. Almost all camera's of 3.0 pixels and above take pictures that look descent on the computer screen, but print quality cannot be assesed until you actually print. This is especially true in low light situations or when the light level of the subject and the background are significantly different. The spot metering and shutter settings available with this camera solve this issue. Once we experimented for several days with various settings, which we found out later were clearly specified in the manual, we were able to take great printable pictures under almost any lighting situations. We actually took a picture in a cave which was pitch black. No light was used except the flash, used the slow shutter speed and spot meter to focus on subject. We got a flawless photo of the subject, colors, dettails all against a completely black background. We were amazed. As we continued to play with the camera we found it to be capable of better shots than the 35mm we were replacing. My suggestion is you save yourself some time and just read how to change the settings for specific light settings. What they recommend really works. Also for those very low light shots a tri-pod is probably a neseccity unless you have a very steady hand. It is also worth the $20 dollar investment to buy 4 2100 mhw rechargeble batteries and charger. They will last several days taking approx. 100 pictures without having to worry about using the flash and zoom. As with all digital cameras avoid the digital zoom as it does create distortion in the pictures. Overall, we were very hard to sell on a digital camera, but we plan on keeping this one. 99% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix E510 5.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Price, appearance, picture quality, ease of use You can not beat this price for a 5.2MP camera of this quality. I must say I have been researching digital cameras for at least 6 months and no competitor has come close to this price for what they are giving you. The ease of use is amazing the manual goes step by step for parties who are not familiar to the digital world. A definite steal!! 96% of readers found this review helpful. Fujifilm FinePix E510 5.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: The amazing 1 inch super macro feature is why I bought this camera. I sell things that need the closest possbile shot and this E510 does the job even over a "Sony". Weakness: I have noticed it makes a unusal noise when turning on/off. I am convinced it is just the make up of the camera. As long as it works it will not bother me. I recommend this camera to whomever is looking for a good quality shot especially when needing to take very close up pictures up to 1 inch!! The step up of E550 does not have Super Macro so this is why I went with the E510. 95% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix E510 5.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Very good picture quality, advanced picture card(fast) Weakness: Does not focus well under low light, does not have focus assist light. Very happy with picture quality, size and ergonomy. I chose because all controls can be set to manual. Use Ni-MH batteries. Video mode is limited to 60sec. Picture to picture time is quite fast. 89% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix E510 5.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Takes clear and professional looking photos for printing and viewing on a computer. Takes great night photos. You can be in a pitch black room & use your flash & the photo comes out like daytime. Weakness: Experienced lots of blurriness even when I tried to hold my hands steady. Moving objects came out blurry too even on sport mode. Moisture also builds up in camera if the humidity is too hot. I am going to contact Fulgi to see what they suggest regarding the blurriness and humidity weeknesses of the camera. Other than that, it is a good camera. Takes great photos when the conditions are right! I would purchase another one if they made the camera weather proof and made it where the camera could not take blurry photos. 88% of readers found this review helpful. my first digital cameraStrengths: The E510 has many good features; small size, ease of use, better than i might expect photos, range of use. Probably near ideal for learning and technical family use. Weakness: I notice that movement can cause a bit of blurriness in lower light. It is difficult to get a sense of light and exposure. I like the idea of being able to have a very useful camera that is very portable.. If you are of a mind to you can put it in your shirt pocket. I used it with a simple camera case and a neck tether attached to the wrist tether. (so it was difficult to drop. This made it quick and easy to set up and click in a matter of seconds. Pretty good resolution and color. 83% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix E510 5.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: It is very affordable and easy to use. I'm an amateur photographer and am very impressed with the quality of the prints. Weakness: No rechargable batteries or charger. It also doesn't come with a carrying case, but none of them do. I haven't had problems with quality issues. The memory card also needs to be upgraded. I am very satisfied with the camera and found that it is very lightweight and affordable. I would recommend it to everyone. It takes great pictures without all the fuss of complicated settings. 81% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fuji E510Strengths: None Weakness: Camera does not take good close up pictures I should have purchased a Canon. Do not buy this camera it does not take good close up pictures. It is very complicated to use. The auto setting takes a good pic at about 10 feet. Pictures that are faraway do not turn out good. Do yourself a favor and buy a Canon. Also the video mode takes terrible video. Max is a minute and quality is poor. I later purchased a Canon for about 100.00 dollars more and the video mode is 1000 times better. Solid CameraStrengths: solid stop action, lots of features for technical shots. reasonable optical zoom. LCD screen. Weakness: 3.MANUAL FOCUS - no measureing device but the LCD screen! 2.NIGHT SHOTS - 2 seconds max. shutter speed!?!?!? buy a canon if you want great night shots. 3.length of time between shots When using the camera in manual mode, it is really fun to play with EVERYTHING. from macro to super macro shots. Night shots.... i recommend using flash to capture more light, however this seriously is an achilles heal to the shot. You won't have to worry about picture size with this camera. I'm waiting for a non-SLR digi-cam that allows me to zoom in/out while taking a picture for barrel-distortion effects. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix E510 5.2 Megapixel Compact Camera
Strengths: Very good price for a 5.2 MP.
Weakness: Comes with only a 16 MB picture card.
After comparing many cameras online, my brother helped me choose this one as a gift for my fiance. I wanted a good quality camera with alot of features (and a reasonable price) and this one seemed to have everything we needed. Other than needing a bigger xD picture card (we bought a 256 MB) I see no need to have to upgrade to a different camera in the near future. The 5.2 MP seems to be more than enough for what my fiance (and I) will need. After all the research the camera intrigued my brother so much, so he ended up buying the FinePix E550 and found that it was a bit of overkill and wished he would have saved the extra money and got the E510 instead.
