HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart R607 4.1 Megapixel...Strengths: Very lightweight and compact, easy to operate, easy to transfer to computer. This camera is very easy to use. The rechargeable battery is a plus that makes it easy to grab and go without having to worry with batteries. The photos from the camera are great quality. Ease of use and functionality is exceptional. Printed photos look like they came from a photo lab. The on board video is good quality for a small camera. 91% of readers found this review helpful. HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart R607 4.1 Megapixel...Strengths: ultra-compact, rechargeable battery, relatively inexpensive, tons of features Weakness: none so far I really recommend this camera. Its user interface is a breeze to use and the features that it comes packed with should leave even professional photographers satisfied. I nearly bought the comparable Canon SD300, but this camera meets (and sometimes beats) the double priced SD300. 82% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart R607 4.1 Megapixel...Strengths: Many features,Great price Weakness: Taking good pictures takes some getting used to, expensive accesories. So far I am pretty happy with this camera. I researched cameras for a long time and I felt that this was the best one for the money. I got mine for just under $150 after rebate so it is a very affordable camera. I have taken many pictures and a couple movies with it so far. The pictures are good but I know they can be better with more experience. The video quality is pretty descent when there is good lighting considering that it is only a digital camera. All in all I am pretty happy with it, especially for the price. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart R607 4.1 Megapixel...Strengths: long battery life; Advanced Lighting Weakness: small LCD screen; noisy pics. Got this camera because it was small (smaller and lighter than R707). So far, so good. Picture quality is good, but reducing it for emailing causes grainy pics. Still, got it for $145 after rebates, so it's a good deal and worth it. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart R607 4.1 Megapixel...Strengths: long battery. Ok quality Weakness: image quality could be improved, sort of noisy I have had this camera for a while and I am happy with it. I was using my old canon camera and I can tell a difference, better price, better camera. I got this with a bundle rebate, so it's pretty cheaper than MRSP. 100% of readers found this review helpful. HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart R607 4.1 Megapixel...Strengths: Great design, Excellent features for the price, Optical zoom is very good. Very easy to use. Great Software. Weakness: The quality of the pictures is not the best, escecially with low light. Colors are not very bright. This is a compact and very nice camera that I bought for $199 to Newegg.com (GREAT STORE!!!!!!!). Including the rebate it was $149 so it's really cheap. It has a great deal of features, including in camera red-eye reduction and other special cool options. 90% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart R607 Digital CameraStrengths: Compact, great price, good pictures Weakness: Small LCD Easy to use, small, compact camera. In-camera red-eye removal is a plus. And it uses SD Card so it's not a problem since I have Canon S2 Camera and the SD card is not expensive. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart R607 4.1 Megapixel...Strengths: lightweight and compact Weakness: noisy and lcd is small it's another entry level camera I have tried before. Finally I passed it to my cousin since it didn't satisfy my requirements. The quality is fine but not great. The motor noise is a little bit loud. It doesn't look cool, which is the problem of almost all the HP cameras. 25% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Rarely So Happy with a Digital Camera
Strengths: 21x total zoom (3x optical Pentax, 7x digital) * Red-eye reduction * Panorama preview feature * Accepts SD and MMC memory cards * Prints to select HP printers without a PC
Weakness: None so far
I previously liked my HP PhotoSmart 635 because the menus were so easy to use and the photos were fine for 2.1 megapixels. My son wanted an inexpensive digital camera which was my excuse to upgrade to something smaller. I finally opted for another HP and purchased the R607 and I absolutely love this little thing. It's very small (about the size of a slim pack of cigarettes), but still feels great in my hand and it's packed full of features. The menus are still incredibly easy to use, and there are many settings which can be customized to maximize the quality of different types of photographs. The rechargeable lithium battery life is excellent, AND it's replaceable with the new CP-1 disposable from Duracell if you're going where you won't be able to recharge. It's compatible with both SD and MMC, but in a flash-card emergency the built-in 16MB becomes available as a backup. As for quality, I took several close-up photos of my favorite flower in full bloom this spring, and they were absolutely stunning. The owner's manual is full of information about using the many different settings to get the most from your shots... I'll have to play around with that some day, but in the meantime I'm just having fun.
