Olympus D-535 Zoom

Strengths: This is a very easy to use camera! Its great if your just starting out in the digital world or if you know somone that is. The mode dial on the back of the small body is very easy to use.

Weakness: One of the major downfalls of this great camera is the batteries. YOU MUST go out and pick up AA rechargible batteries and a charger, mine as well get a bundled kit. Other then that, this ia a great!

Like I said above this is a great starter! But, you definitely need some rechargeable batteries! Now the software, well thats really great stuff that Olympus Master! I'm not sure if it will come with your camera if you buy it here but, you can always look on Pricegrabber.com for Olympus Master software and see what you find! So in all, this is a great camera that takes great shots!!

Olympus Camedia D-535 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Weakness: no viewfinder, delay in picture taking sometimes

I have another more expensive digital camera, but since i went off to school at Temple University, my mom didnt want to risk sending the good one with me. She bought this one for me for christmas, and for the price, i love it. It takes good pictures, i find there to be only a few problems. When i first turn it on, it doesnt seem to want to take a picture right away. I usually have to wait 2 or 3 minutes in order to take any picture at all. Also, it eats through the batteries like whoa. I have rechargables, and those seem to last longer. This camera did come with something my other digital camera did not, and that is a cable for connecting to the tv. I love that, for when i am in Virginia on vacation with my family, when we come back to our vacation home, everyone likes to see the pictures, and on the tv, everyone can.

I love this camera, though. I expect to keep it until I graduate from college (unless it will be way low in quality in comparison to the new ones coming out by then.... who knows)

Olympus Camedia D-535 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Easy to work with-Price-Quality for the Price-You can easily see the pictures on the TV if there is no computer .

Weakness: Nothing special-Is not as bright and good as professional cameras. No Mic to capture audio while in video mode.

I bought this camera for my brother. He is new in Digital photography. I thought it's a good start for him and I guess I made the right choice. The camera is good. Very easy to work with and the quality is good for the price that I paid. I bought it for 120$ (Shipping/Tax included). I wished it had a bag. The 12MB internal memory is also too small. I have to go ahead and buy an XD card for it. The good thing is that it uses 2 AA battery and it makes it easy. I have a Nikon Coolpix 2500 and it has a special battery that runs out too fast. But this is very good. I just bought a rechargeable battery and charger for 10 bucks from Walmart and I'm not worried about power anymore... It has also another good feature. It connects directly to TV video in and you can see the pictures or the video on TV. The bad thing is that if you record the video it won't capture audio.
Overall I have to say that it's a good camera if you don't want to pay a lot... But if you want to have a really good camera spend more and buy a better one.

Olympus D-535 Digital Camera Review

Strengths: The Olympus D-535 is a very nice camera. It takes very nice pictures, is easy to operate yet has tons of features, fits easily in you pocket and is relatively inexpensive.

Weakness: As in most or all pocket-sized digital cameras today, the D-535 has no optical viewfinder. Also, it takes one or two seconds before the shuuter clicks from the time you press the buttons.

Olympus D-535 is a great little digital pocket camera that takes beautiful pictures. They are clear, sharp and have good color. The camera’s CDD has good light sensitivity – allowing you to shoot in amazingly low light conditions without flash. The flash is quite strong, being able to light subjects 20-30 feet away. The camera has a macro lens setting that lets you get to within an inch of a subject. My wife had asked me for a camera for quite some time – but she wanted one that was simple to operate. She hates having to set things and to fiddle around with knobs and buttons before she can take a picture. She just wants to point and shoot. Well, she loves this camera and has now used it to take more pictures than she has in a lifetime. I was originally concerned that with all the camera’s many features, the selections would overwhelm her. But once she got the idea of the settings that she wanted (mostly ”automatic”) she finally has a camera that’s not only simple to use but also takes great pictures. Plus, she likes the zoom feature - despite the fact that it requires her to get familiar with another button.

There are just a few things that I find undesirable (but, of course, I’m not the one using the camera very often anymore): I miss having a viewfinder. All of these little digital pocket cameras are now made without one and you have to rely on the LCC display to see what you are shooting. In strong outdoor light, that often becomes difficult. Also, as typical with digital cameras, especially these pocket types, there is about a second or two delay from the time you press the button to the time the camera actually snaps the picture. Thus, this is not a camera to use for capturing fast action scenes, unless you want see want happened after an event. You can somewhat get used to the slow response, but it would be nice if the process was more instantaneous. I said earlier that the light sensitivity of the CCD is quite good. I like that because I find that shooting with available light makes pictures look more natural. But this feature comes at a price. The shutter speed drops to the point where moving objects become blurred. But realizing this and taking it into account still lets you take good pictures in low lighting conditions.

When you buy this camera or any other digital pocket camera these days, you will find that the two AA batteries that are usually included wear out very quickly. So, be sure to go to your nearest X-Mart and pick up a battery charger and rechargeable batteries. I got a charger with four rechargeable batteries for about $17, and it’s been a lifesaver. Besides, rechargeable batteries hold a much longer charge than the one-pass alkaline ones. Also, pick up some memory. Most cameras, including this one, come with only a small amount of internal memory while others include a memory card with only about 16 MB of memory. Through mail order or your nearest Circuit City store, you can pick up a Fuji 256 MB card for about $32. (The Olympus folks charge about 50% more for their cards). The 256 MB lets you shoot pictures seemingly forever. Eventually you can download your pictures to you computer with the provided USB cable and software. In any case, investing in rechargeable batteries and a battery charger plus some decent memory removes most the frustration that I have heard other digital camera owners talk about.

It sum, the Olympus D-535 is a very nice camera. It takes very nice pictures, is easy to operate yet has tons of features, fits easily in you pocket and is relatively inexpensive (For example, I paid $131 and that included shipping). I recommend it for anyone first getting started with digital cameras and for anyone wanting to take the everyday kind of pictures we take most of the time.

Nice Cam

Strengths: Super Macro, Macro, Ease, Size, Lens, Picture Quality,

Weakness: no viewfinder, delay in picture taking, No Voice Recording,

I took this cam a year ago i found this to be very good. I loved the quality, the pic i took are really of high class. I took several photos in macro all turned to be nice clips. One should read the usage completely to get the best of the camera. But it would have been really great if the video format is .avi with sound. When pics taken at SHQ it is very much delayed. Flash is really good.
Night mood requires a tripod for must.
U can get the best quality pictures in 3.2 MP. Most of the clips took in this cam are of true color and often appricated.

Olympus Camedia D-535 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: The Olympus D-535 is easy to use, compact, and fairly inexpensive for what you get in this 3.2 megapixel camera.

Weakness: Battery life is very short since you are using the lcd display all the time. No optical view finder.

I purchased the Olympus D-535 for it's easy to use features and inexpensive price point for a 3.2 Megapixel camera. I was not disappointed! The dial settings & buttons on the camera are easy to understand. In addition, Olympus has done a very good job at simplifying and making the menus fairly intuitive. I would recommend this camera for anyone who is getting into digital photography as a beginner or you just want a great inexpensive digital camera that has the main bells and whistles.

On the down side, I can't believe Olympus did not have an optical view finder on this camera! This is a main down side because you have to use the lcd display as your view finder when taking pictures. This causes 2 important problems. If you are taking pictures in bright light, it is very hard to see the lcd display. Secondly, because the lcd display is required to be on all the time your battery life is very short. If you can overlook these irritations, you will be happy with the camera.

DCRP Review: Olympus D-535 Zoom

I had high hopes for the Olympus D-535 Zoom. I was hoping that Olympus wouldn't skimp on features to keep the price down. The results are mixed. Olympus did manage to put a 3X optical zoom lens and high resolution (but small) LCD display on the camera. At the same time, they took out useful features like white balance and an optical viewfinder, making the camera more frustrating to use than fun.
