Fujifilm FinePix 6900 Digital CameraStrengths: 6X Zoom and lots of features for the money. Well-constructed. Good menu system. Weakness: Low-light focusing and low-light image quality (even at ISO 400). No noise-reduction. Wish the "doors" were soft rubber rather than hard plastic to avoid potential damage (esp. USB cable door). After reading the reviews of the suppliers, I checked out my old photo supplier, www.bhphoto.com. They had the 6900 for $659 with an additional BP-80 battery (that I needed to buy, anyway). That battery goes for $45-$70, depending where you shop. Plus, they had FedEx Economy shipping for only $12...they didn't try to gouge on shipping as some sites do. I picked up the Fuji external 1-hour charger (item sku 10156857) along with a $45 128Mb SmartMedia card at Buy.com with free shipping for just over $100 total. You need that external charger, otherwise it takes 5 hours to charge the battery in the camera. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix 6900 Digital CameraStrengths: 6x zoom, external flash hotshoe, extensive manual controls Weakness: Proprietary battery that lasts maybe 100 shots (using LCD screen), autofocus is sometimes slow I did a *lot* of research before buying this camera. My second choice would have been the Olympus 3040 or 4040. Overall, I am very pleased. I was able to take a lot photos in very low light (set to 400 ISO) at my daughter's High School play recently. I did not want to use a flash so as not to disturb the performers. Although the pictures were a little grainy (that's what you get with 400 ISO and low light), they turned out better than expected. I don't think I would have got such shots with my film camera. The 6x zoom was a *huge* plus. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix 6900 Digital CameraStrengths: 6x optical zoom is above the rest of the pack in at this price. Good styling. Very good pics once you work out the nuances. Weakness: Can't just shoot right out of the box. I'm learning it as I go. I bought the Fuji 6900 Zoom from Buydig (also operate as WorldWide Direct and Beach Camera. All are rated highly). I enjoy the zoom the most - very, very good range. For awhile I thought the colors were off, but that seems to be the LCD. Once you download it, the colors are bright, accurate, and pack in the pixel densities. Excellent purchase in the 400-800 dollar range of cameras. I think it may be the best. Also, just for info, I purchased it based on a very favorable review of this camera in PC Magazine. I was going to flip a coin between this and the Olympus Camedia C3040, but the spectacular zoom in sold me. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix 6900 Digital CameraStrengths: Excellent features and capabilities for the price; lightweight, compact body. Weakness: Indecisive focusing mechanism, nonstandard lens design. Overall, this is a great camera for the price. Capable of six megapixels, there's no better deal out there. The body is light and compact, and as easy to hold as the best SLR's. Still, there are a few things that could be improved upon. The focusing mechanism is sometimes slow to focus. Also, the lens is designed so that filters cannot be used without some sort of adapter from Fuji (only a problem for people who use filters). Nonetheless, I definitely recommend this camera. Fujifilm FinePix 6900 Digital CameraStrengths: Light-weight, compact, can add-on telephoto or wide angle lens, high mega-pixel Weakness: Comes with only 6X optical zoom, image stablization not as good as some other cameras Just got the Fuji FinePix 6900 and love it! I previously thought I wanted to get a camera with a 10X optical zoom, but this camera won out because it has a lens add-on option. You can throw on a telephoto lens and get a 12X optical zoom with this one. The image stablization is not as good, in my opinion, as a Sony Mavica, but it's not terrible either. I'm only a complete novice photographer, but already I've taken some really great shots. The FinePix 6900 is much smaller than the comparable Sony Mavica CD1000 or the like and a lot lighter than the Olympus C2100 ultrazoom. It sits comfortably in your hands, and it's easy to get started with. I didn't find it in the least formidable. Other digital cameras intimidated me from the start. I only looked at the quickstart reference page and I've been able to take pictures, review them, and delete them. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? TopSponsored Links

Fujifilm FinePix 6900 Digital Camera
Strengths: 6X Optical zoom and 4X digital. Has built in flash and accepts external flash. Interpolates the 3.3MP to 6MP for sharp portraits up to 11X14. ISO speeds 100, 200 & 400.
Weakness: Operates on 1 rechargeable battery that is about the size of a "AA". You should have more than one because the charge is good for only about 50 photos with flash. Movie mode doesn't record sound.
I have used this camera for about two months now and have found that it has almost every option that I need. The 3.3 megapixel is ample. However, the camera can interpolate images to 6 mega pixels. I can alternate viewing between a color viewfinder or the color display screen on the back. You can set it to allow you to review each photo before storing it. The self timer has two modes: 2 seconds and 10 seconds. I find the 2 second timer ideal for taking tripod mounted "hands off" photos to prevent any camera shake by me. It has a fully automatic mode, and many modes that you can set yourself including full manual. The autofocus lens can also be set to manual focus if desired. There is a macro setting to photograph as close as about 4 inches away. The movie mode will record about 160 secs of movie. I would recommend buying a 128MB smart media card. The 16MB card that comes with it is not adequate. However, that seems to be what most of the digital cameras come with.
I uploaded about 50 photos from a family Thanksgiving dinner and the Fuji site allowed me to email other family members how to view the pics on-line (and order copies for themselves). The camera is amazingly lightweight and versatile. I have enjoyed using it and am pleased with the finished product it produces.
