Great Basic CameraStrengths: Good for beginners, takes great pictures in all lighting conditions. Weakness: Zoom feature decreases picture quality quite a bit. Energy saver initiates too quickly. The most frustrating thing I've discovered about this camera is that it's energy-saving feature of closing the display comes on within about a minute. So if you pause between taking pictures for too long the screen goes black. So if you forget to keep the screen active (by pressing a button every 15 seconds or so) you will go to take a picture and the view screen is black, which causes an additional delay to get the screen back up. I wish it had the option of either setting the time it goes to energy-saver yourself, or the option to turn it off. I am a beginner at digitals, so there may be a way to do this, I just haven't found it yet. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Nice little camera
Strengths: Compact, takes decent pictures
Weakness: Piddly Zoom, in camera red eye
For under $100 this is a decent digital camera. It's 5 megapixels so you can get quality photos at larger sizes. It is compact and can easily fit into a pocket. It is user friendly so it is a good first camera. I would recommend this camera for beginners, or for an inexpensive grab and go 2nd camera. If you are a more active photographer I would suggest you go for something with a larger zoom. 12x is excellent. Also beware the in camera red eye removal. I have found that it is better to correct the pictures afterward than risk having it auto correct. The auto correct will sometimes mistake the red of lips or other features and turn them black thus ruining the entire picture.
