Strengths: Heavy, substantial, aluminum construction, excellent feel and balance, superb, fast lens, full manual control, fast AF, strong onboard flash, accepts both SM and CF cards, incredible image quality.
Weaknesses: Weak AF in low-light, AF will confirm though OOF, slow write times, small buffer, big power consumer.
Summary: Excellent digital for first time SLR type buyer. Incredible build quality, very substantial, built like a tank. Great ergonomics, most used controls placed ON the camera instead of hidden in menus, awesome lens quality, though non-interchangeable, pixel mapping capability, can use CF and SM simultaneously, IBM MD compatible, extremely high resolution and detail though a bit noisier than the D30. Best value for $$$ in any "SLR" type design in digital. Good lens accessory offerings including awesome TCON300 telephoto. Interlaced AND Progressive scan modes, PS mode offers very fast (1/18,000) shutter speed though reduced to 2.5mp rez, 1/640 in IS. Recommend highly for serious enthusiast and pro on a budget.
