Good camera for an inexpensive price.Strengths: Good picture quality. Panorama mode. Weakness: USB port hard to access. Battery must be removed and charged in separate charger unless you purchase additional power cord. This is a nifty little camera and was a good deal for the price (about $108.00 plus tax). It has a number of nice features and settings including auto, manual, and portrait with an additional twelve scene setting modes for various picture taking situations. It also has an image stabilization setting and my favorite feature, a panorama setting. The panorama setting is really helpful in those vacation situations where you want to capture your full surroundings. Camera connects directly to your computer via an included USB cable, however the USB port on the camera is a bit hard to access as the little rubber cover is not easy to remove. I suspect anyone with short finger nails or stubby fingers might have a bit of difficulty. Also, the camera has a port to directly attach an external power cord, but the cord was not included in the kit. Therefore, unless you have or purchase a compatible power cord, you need to remove the battery and charge it in a separate batter charger. I find this a bit inconvenient and feel the manufacturer should have included this extra power cord. The picture quality is very good for a basic digital camera. In a side-by-side test against my 8.1 MP Casio Exlim, the E1030 produced an image slightly shaper than the Casio (for which I paid significantly more for about 2 years ago), but with slightly more artifacts. Overall, I recommend the E1030 as an inexpensive option if you’re looking for a good basic camera to have at your disposal. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Very bad picture quality.
Strengths: I like how small the camera is, the size of the LCD and the movie taking mode.
Weakness: Takes very bad pictures and very slow. Flash put in a bad spot.
I bought this camera online, so I didn't really get to see it before I bought it. After I bought it I wanted to return it, but there was a 15% restocking fee. I looked everywhere online and most of the reviews were positive.
The pictures taken had a bluish tint to it. I thought it was just the LCD. When I downloaded the pic it was still the same on my computer. It was also slow in taking pictures. It took a while for the camera to take the picture after I pressed the button. By then my object had moved. You have to be careful where you put your finger, it can cover the flash.
