Konica Minolta DiMAGE 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Compact, internal 3x optical zoom, takes nice pictures, very high resolution LCD, very durable

Weakness: I thought the 2.1MP was a weakness, but I compared it to a Dimage Xi (3.2MP) and the difference was was not worth the price diference.

I recommend this camera to everyone. My co-worker bought one as well as my aunt bought a Dimage Xi. Everyone is always amazed at how small it is (usually that not a compliment for guys - ha ha) Anyway I think the pictures are very good. I have taken a few pictures I think would make it in an art gallery (or scenic calendar). I printed one out as an 8.5x11 and framed it and you couldn't tell it was digital picture unless you pulled out the magnafine glass. I have taken over 2500 pictures with this camera! It's even my pocket-sized photocopier. It is also very durable; I have had it in my front pants pocket for the last year and half and have had not problems at all. A word of advice: buy an extra battery. I bought two batteries for $19 on Ebay. SterlingTek was the company name I believe. It is not a 5MP Canon Digital Rebel, but I think it is the best digital camera for a person who likes to have to a camera on-hand (in-pocket) for all those candid shots where you wouldn't normally have a camera. I love mine so much that I bought one for my wife too!

Konica Minolta DiMAGE 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Fast start up time, easy to use, incredibly compact.

Weakness: Photo quality is very good, but not professional quality.

A very good camera that is stylish, easy to use, and provides solid photo quality. If the price isn't an issue and you are looking for a compact digital camera, this is the one to get.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: small size, well built, quick start, good battery life

Weakness: nothing major-no shutter speed control

Very convinient to have in the pocket. Images have to be put through the provided software for best results. Prints are excellent. Perfect for point and shoot.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Fast turn on, internal zoom, quiet operation, nice picture quality, 1hr 40min battery life(lcd on and taking pix w/flash)

Weakness: Expensive SD media ( i hear going wtih MMC slows performance?)

I am not a photo buff, but would like to take a camera with me when i go out and on trips. The only reason I have for replacing my 35mm camera (also minolta) is size and I hate going to longs to develop film because I always forget. I fought a long battle between this camera and the cannon digital elph, but when I went to a store that had both cameras, I was amazed at the slim dimensions of the X! I must adimit, that its picture quality won't keep up with a 3 or 4 megapixel camera, but I'll have my DimageX out of my pocket and the picture taken before my friends can take their cameras out of the bag they have to carry around!

Konica Minolta DiMAGE 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: easy to use, takes great pictures, zoom is easy to use & lense stays inside of camera instead of protruding outwards. I really like how it fits in your pocket...no bulky item to carry around.

Weakness: none!

I borrowed this camera from a relative to take on our vacation to Maui in Sept 02. The pictures of sunrises, sunsets & rainbows came out so beautful everyone wanted copies of them. It worked so well I decided to purchase one myself.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Small size and speed turning on is a real advantage. The use of SD memory cards is an advantage in size & security. It's nice to lock a card so it can't be erased.

Weakness: 2.1 MP limit sometimes hinders printing large format photos. Battery is small and light, but if you're shooting lots of 30 sec. videos, it quickly runs out. Bring a spare battery or two.

Wonderful using it all summer on job projects. It was easy to walk around with the camera in my pocket, and quickly pull it out for a job record photo. It never got in the way, I never ran out of memory space for more pics, but I did bring a spare battery in case of lots of flash photos. Literally, took hundreds of pics thru the summer that I would not have using a film camera. Great for job documentation.
Took it on 2 long family group vacations, and everyone commented on the small size. Then they forgot all about it and let me take lots of photos because it was so small and unobtrusive. Always has worked great, and USB sync to a computer is so easy.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Small size, good pictures, bright F2.8-3.4 lens, metal shell, small size!!

Weakness: Only 2.1 mega pixels, stepped-zoom, no carry pouch.

Minolta claims this is the smallest and lighest digital camera in the market to date. The truth is that there are several digital cameras out there with similar dimentions and weight. But the Dimage X is the only one, so far, that does not change it's physical appearance during normal zooming and focusing operations. Thanks to a bulit-in 3X optical zoom lens. I bought this camera for my wife because of it's simplicity and size. She is not a pro, therefore she can care less about shutter speeds and aperture settings. Just point and shoot! I'd wished, however, that the camera had a higher resolution count. At least 3 mega pixels like most of the other digital cameras it competes with. The digital zoom is not progressive as most other cameras but rather stepped. The image will jump from 1.5x to 2x to ect. Other than that this camera is very well disigned and it seams to serve it's intended purpose very well. Small and simple! Thanx to the "Mind of Minolta"

Konica Minolta DiMAGE 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Very compact...can take it with you anywhere. I love the lithium rechargeable battery. It lasts longer than anything I've used.

Weakness: Would like to have some sort of case or cover to protect it.

This camera has gone beyond my expectations. I bought it mainly for the size, but the photographs are excellent.
The battery life is excellent as well.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Small, convenient !

Weakness: Made in China

Easy to use. I would much prefer using regular batteries, rather then having to have to go out and buy another lithium battery to keep on hand.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Easy to use menu, good pictures with good light

Weakness: Processing time for highest quality pictures too high, low light conditions only average

An easy to use camera with good results in bright light conditions. Would not want to have this as my only camera but works for its size.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Compact, decent construction

Weakness: Pictures are not high quality.

About a month ago, the zoom did not work and the picture wouldn't focus. I sent it back to Minolta (sense it was still under warranty) the first week of December. I did not hear from them so I called them and they told me there was moisture damage and the camera couldn't be fixed. I have no idea how this happened. I spoke to several reps at Minolta and they told me the same. I asked if I could pay to get it fixed and they said they could not fix it and they are sending it back. How could they not be able to fix the camera? It is useless to me unless it is fixed. They were very rude and turned me completey off to buying any more Minolta products. This may be an isolated incident , but it did happen.
