Casio Exilim EX-S10 (silver)
THE GOOD: Slim design; features not often found on cameras in this class/price range; convenient onscreen menu; live histogram; broad Best Shot options; peppy performance. THE BAD: Tiny controls; impossible to read icons/text on buttons and camera body; soft photos; moderate zoom focal range. THE BOTTOM LINE: Although its tiny size and just-average image quality may be dealbreakers for some, the... Top

Casio EXILIM CARD EX-S10 Review
Thin is in for digital cameras, and the Casio EX-S10 easily delivers on that score. It's certainly one of the sleeker models we've looked at lately, and it comes in colors for those who want their digital camera to color-coordinate with their wardrobe. (Buy several, for different outfits?) The Casio S10 also has one "unexpected extra" feature that Dave would have given his right arm for in... Top

Exilim S10: great looks and good camera functions
Strengths: Beautiful design and size. 10 mega pixels. Auto Focus modes.
Weakness: No image stabilization. Some of the pictures have more noise than desirable. Can sometimes feel awkward to operate due to the size.
The Casio Exilim S10 is undeniably one of the best looking ultracompact cameras on the market. It's small, has a giant, bright viewscreen, and comes in 4 colors, all of which look very good.
Casio sells this as the world's smallest 10 mega pixel camera, which may be true, but 10 mega pixels is a little overkill for normal point-and-shoot camera usage. It doesn't hurt though, if you have enough memory.
The S10 has a neat function called autofocus. When using autofocus the camera automatically take a picture when the subject is stable in one mode, when a moving subject in clear while panning in another, or when the subject smiles and shows some teeth in another mode. This innovation works fairly well; not great, but well enough to be useful.
Also, the S10 turns on and is ready to take a picture very quickly.
Most of the other options are carryovers and upgrades to older Casio cameras (which isn't at all a bad thing.) The normal stereotype of Casio's applies to this camera: it looks great, has tons of easy-to-use options, but sometimes lack a little in image quality. Overall, it's a very good camera for simple point-and-shoot purposes.
