Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Great beginner camera. Awesome for taking regular 4 x 6 photos. Took to Disney in Apr.2003 and almost all the pictures came out beautiful. Very easy to use and a great price.

Weakness: Close up shots get a bit fuzzy, but then again it's only a 2mp. Shutter time is a bit long, Low light, inside a gymnasium, pictures are a bit dark.

This is the first digital camera I bought and I think it was well worth the money. Takes great picture. It's a great camera for taking pictures at family functions, school, vacation. It's light weight and easy to use!

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Easy to use. Very clear pictures. The process to download and/or view the pictures from the camera is very simple.

Weakness: You have to read the instruction manual to figure out how to use some of the features. (as if that's really a weakness)

I love this camera!!!

For the price (I paid $175.00 from Harmony Computers) it's really a great value.

The 3x optical zoom is very handy for giving you flexibility in your shots.

The battery life seems satisfactory. (I'm using rechargeables)

The pictures are really great!!! Plus since it uses a USB interface, accessing the pictures is really smooth!!!!

It also has a movie mode that will allow you to capture short .AVI video clips.

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: 5 Flash modes. 7 White Balance and a good range of Exposures in Manual Mode. Good zoom, fun Macro mode. Produces nice shots if you know when to use the various balance/flash/exposure settings.

Weakness: No Self-Timer in Manual Mode. Webcam mode is useless indoors--too dark, and VERY red. No MJPG codec on CD. Had to buy one (Grr!). Auto Focus is hard to use if it's too dark--shine a light first.

- Manufacturer states Lithium batteries can't be used, so pack extra NiMH batteries & a charger on long trips.
- Some say the camera is a bit bulky, but I found it just large enough to hold comfortably without my fingers straying over the lens or flash sensor.
- When I talked to Tech Support to ask about the poor Webcam performance, the representative seemed rushed and uninformed.
- I was quite miffed to learn that there was no MJPG codec on the CD, but I found a good one for $20 with a 60-day free trial.
- You can't take pictures or edit settings while the Flash recharges. This can cause you to miss photo-ops, so either time your shots or use Suppressed Flash mode (which disables the Flash, but can cause blur in low light)
- Movie mode uses Auto settings, but only when you first begin the movie (it doesn't re-adjust mid-movie). If indoor shots seem too red, start the movie in the same light you'll be finishing with.
- Be sure to experiment with all of the manual settings in various situations to become familiar with what modes are best in which scenarios. Also be sure to pick up a good photo editor (Adobe PhotoDeluxe or, preferably, PhotoShop) and a good movie editor (as well as the DivX codec or another free codec so movie distribution is easier).

---------
Though the gamera has its quirks, I was still quite pleased with the purchase. I've taken some excellent shots with it (mostly of plants), and with a Fuji Aladdin kiosk, I can have them developed like real film

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Great price, good brand reputation, surprisingly clear imgaes.

Weakness: A little on the bulky side, need more than 16mb, invest in rechargable batteries.

The Fuji 2650 is very easy to use. I was taking pictures within 5 minutes of opening the box. The images look great for 2MP. The controls are user friendly and easy to understand. It's a great value. I paid under $170 for it. It could be a bit less bulky. It's not a camera you want to keep in your pocket, but it's not too big either. Definitely a great buy!

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Very good quality pictures for a 2 MB model. Inexpensive.

Weakness: Controls slightly different. Could be smaller.

Purchased as an inexpensive point and shoot camera. For the most part, I'm impressed. Overall quality of pictures is better than average for cameras in this price range. Easy to use though controls are a little different. Requires a switch be pushed and lens cover opened before taking pictures. Battery life (2 X AA) quite good. Quality of LCD is very good even in fairly bright light. Too big for pocket but fits nicely in a small case. For less than $200 would buy again.

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: easy to use,affordable

This was a christmas present, and with 4 kids that love to take photos to the LCD screen was a hugh selling point. I have taken lots of photos with this camera in the last 6 months and have not been dissapointed yet. It is a bit bulky but not a real problem. I highly reccomend this camera and if you are in doubt email me and i will send you some pics of the grand canyon i took with the 2650. Shann973@aol.com

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: great price, ease of use for first-timers

Weakness: none

I love this camera! I am a nail technician in a nail salon, and I constantly take pictures of my work.....I decided to upgrade to a digital camera and I must say I am very pleased with this camera....it has a macro lens which is the primary reason I bought it, and I love the fact that it's so easy to downlaod photos and organize them with the USB connectivity. I highly recommend this camera if you're a first time user and want great close up shots.

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Inexpensive camera, with great features for the price.

Weakness: Too fat, hard to carry around in your pocket. If you want a pocket size camera don't get this one!!!

This was my first camera. I shopped around for a while and finally bought this one. The price was good and it had enough pixels and optical zoom. The only complaint is the thickness, I would like to be able to carry it my pocket more. I mean the best pictures are the ones you don't plan on taking. Other than that it is a great camera.

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Very Light, Battery useage is great, detailed instruction manual, bundeled software

Weakness: Zoom power, managing light

The FinePix 2650 is an excellent camera for novice photography. You can not get a better quality camera anywhere for under $200 bucks. It took a minute to get the understanding of how to set up the camera with your subject based on the surroundings ... if I had read my manual right off, I am sure my first few pics would have been even better. Bottom line, I have printed out quality pics (not even using the BEST resolution) and given them as gifts to friends who praised them as 35mm film shots.

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Price, 2MP, 3x Optical zoom, software, size, AA batteries

Weakness: Low light is horrible, no sound on movies, LCD not enough brightness / contrast

For a cheap camera it isn't bad, we bought it for my daughter since we own a Fuji s602 and are extremely pleased with it. The software is very nice for a novice to use for moving files off of the camera, organizing them, and resizing them to send via e-mail. The pictures are good quality, not excellent, but good. The 3x optical zoom is very nice on a sub $200 camera. It's not the smallest camera but it is in the compact 35mm point and shoot size so it is easily transported. Low light focusing is bad, so bad that even with all the lamps in the room on it had troubles (this is true to a lesser extent with the s602 as well). No sound on the movie clips is a bummer, but oh well it isn't the primary point anyway. Finally, the pictures on the LCD aren't very representative of what you end up with on the PC or printed out, they either appear too dark or washed out if you turn the brightness up.

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Nice feel, Large enough to use without fumbling. Has 16 MG, enough to take some nice photos, without having to purchase more memory immediately.Large screen, with clear imaging, action does not blur.

Weakness: In bright sunlight, screen becomes difficult to view.

A very nice camera for beginner or intermediate use. Has nice "3 step Zoom" viewing of image from memory. Comes standard with 16 MGB. Buttons large enough to use. I highly recommend Lithium or other rechargable batteries. User manual is easy to understand. Action shots, are not blurry. Macro & Zoom works well. A very nice camera. Highly recommend.

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Cheap

Weakness: Blurry action photos

This camera says it has a 1/2 - 1/1000 of a second shutter speed implying that it's manually adjustable. NOT SO. I tried to take photos of my son doing karate and HE was in focus BUT his hands and feet that were moving came out blurry. VERY unhappy that Fuji did not explicity state whether or not the shutter speed was manually or automatically adjustable. If you want clear ACTION PHOTOS, DON'T buy this camera. Now I have to pay a 15% restocking fee at BEST BUY to return this crummy camera. >:(

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: This is a great camera. Very easy to use from the minute you take it out of the box, the manual is easy to understand, Good size LCD display to review pictures, very decent battery life, FUN!!

Weakness: Takes a while for picture to "process"-causing a delay when wanting to take many pictures one right after another. Sometimes pictures come out dark in dim lit areas (easy to fix on computer software)

I got this camera as a Christmas gift and I couldn't be happier! This is my 1st digital camera and I find it so easy to use as well as fun to use. The LCD display is great and you have the option to erase a not so great picture at any time. My neices love to be in pictures and then they run over to see what it looks like-instant gratification. I enjoy the ease of hooking it up to my computer and putting all my pics. in organized albums, able to touch them up if necessary, and printing them. The final results are wonderful-I love to look at all my pictures all the time. I have rechargable batteries and I got a 64MG chip with my present and it holds over 150 pictures(it comes w/16 MG-which holds a very decent amount too). I take it everywhere with me and I highly reccomend it-the positives far outweigh the few negatives!

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: quality workmanship; ease of use. excellent price

Weakness: Requires accesories to get pix into computer without using up batteries ( not recommended)

Excellent little camera for the snapshooter. Has video. Easy to use, but shutter beep is too quiet to be heard, and there is no shutter sound. Delay of seconds makes it impractical to use for stopping moving objects. ISO rating 100
I think this is a discontinued model, and the price has dropped considerably in last month. Uses 2 AA batteries, and uses them fast!

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Great-looking outdoor photos, very easy to use, reliable, uses AA batteries.

Weakness: Indoor/low light shooting requires more patience, skill.

I think I've had the camera for about 1.5 years (memory fails).

This camera has been so much fun that I am reluctant to let it go. (I'm giving it to the kids because I just ordered a Fuji Finepix model E550, basically the same camera with 6.3 MP). I must have a thousand or two pictures that I've taken with it. I started shooting pictures right out of the box with a 64MB xd memory card, which holds 101 full-res pictures.

Several times, I've given the camera to an 8 or 9 year old kid and told them they could shoot it 'til it was full. Within minutes a kid can figure the camera out and take great pictures, particualarly outdoors. (Of course, kids also take some of the weirdest pictures, but that's another topic.)

Indoor shots with a flash take a little more practice than the outdoor shots, but it didn't take long to start taking good pictures that way, too.

Overall, I was surprised by the quality and ease of use of the camera and I would strongly recommend it. I paid $200 for this camera when I bought it and I don't regret it a bit. After my experience with the 2650, I have little apprehension about buying another Fuji Finepix camera.

FujiFilm FinePix 2650 Zoom

Fuji's been carving out a niche for themselves in the low-cost camera market. Their specialty has become low-cost camera that aren't low on features or image quality, and the FinePix 2650 is one of the latest in that lineup. Not fantastically flexible, but it'll snap good-looking photos under typical outdoor shooting conditions with the best of them. A great choice for novices or others looking...
