Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Ease of use, Not to big not to small (fits well in hand). GREAT PICTURE!!! Awesome features. Weakness: Uses Sony Proprietary Memory cards I had a Canon A70 Powershot prior to getting this camera. This camera is 110% better as far as features, quality, accessories, and everything else I've seen so far. The Canon was nice, but not nearly as nice as this camera. Highly Recommended 97% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Solid body, good price & reliable name. Weakness: None Found This is my second Sony digital camera. The Mavica F88 being the first. I looked at the Cannon S45, nice but to much $$$ and more camera than I need. Cannon A70 to small and chrome refective band around LCD screen. Most of the New cameras are very small, the Sony P72 is a little bit larger in size and fits in my hands perfect. I looked at the Sony P8 as well and it was too small for me. The P72 seems to be enough camera and takes great pictures indoors and outdoors as well. Get another set of NIHM batteries. Purchase a larger memory stick, the 16 mb somewhat small. I got a 128 stick for $49.00. Very Happy with this purchase and would highly recommend the Sony P72 Camera. 93% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: weight, quality Weakness: Needs a bigger memory chip, but 16MB is ok, picky on batteries Decided to spend the extra bucks for the 72 because of it's 3X capability. 75% of readers found this review helpful. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: VERY COMPACT! EXCELLENT QUALITY PICTURES! Weakness: BATTERY CHARGER TAKES 6 HOURS TO CHARGE TO FULL LOAD I'VE HAD THIS CAMERA FOR 2 YRS. UPGRADING FROM ANOTHER DCS-P. I WILL UPGRADE TO THE DCS-P150 OR 200 NEXT BUT AS OF NOW I'M COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THIS ONE. I'VE TAKEN OVER 4000 PICS USING THE SAME BATTERIES THAT CAME WITH IT AND THEY'RE STILL GOING STRONG. I BOUGHT A 30 MINUTE CHARGER AND THESE BATTERIES CHARGE IN IT IN 30 MINUTES TOPS. IT'S VERY WELL BUILT! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA TO ANYONE. IT DOES A GREAT JOB. 75% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Great pics, easy to use. Weakness: The included battery charger is slow, takes 6 hours to fully charge the two batteries. What else could you possibly ask for in a point and shoot digital camera? It gives mostly great pictures in auto mode (every camera made spits out a bad pic now & then, mainly in adverse lighting conditions). It also has a few limited manual controls and an excellent macro (close-up) mode. The length of mpeg movies are only limited by the size of your memory stick. (A lot of Digicams limit you to a couple of minutes no matter how much memory you have installed). 93% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: 3.2 P, 3X optical zoom, exposure control, ISO choice, white balance control, flash control, price Weakness: Lag between pushing shutter button and when actual picture is taken, although this may be common in most digital cameras. I have no basis for comparison for the Sony is my first digital camera. I am a novice at digital photography and actually had to take a community service course on how to buy a digital camera. From the course I was able to establish my needs and desirable features of a digital camera for us. 93% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Takes very good quality pictures. The body has a nice design and is solid enough. The cam is easy to use, yet has all the features you would expect. Weakness: Only drawback is it comes with 16 mb memory stick and memory sticks are more expensive that other types of memory so upgrade is a bit of a problem. I have owned this camera for 3 months now. The only complaint that i have is there is no intermediate level resolution 1280x960 and 640x480. If you want to take pictures that have a small size, yet have a better resolution that 640x480, you are stuck with 128x960. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Very Nice Performance Weakness: Just 16MB Memory :-( .... I am using this Camera since last 2 weeks, and found it to match my expectations..I find it better not to use the software included with the camera , but just to cut & Paste from the removable device.. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Excellant battery life, easy operation, excellant manual Weakness: Tends to underexpose in sunlight shots. Need to use "always on" flash. Occasional left side "halo" This is my first digital camera and I am very please with its ease of operation and quality of pictures. It provides a great range of resolution and quality of picture. Even my wife enjoys using it! 67% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Price, Brand, Unlimited Video shooting mode Weakness: Image quality is not so super, even in sunny days, bulky for today's standards This was my second digital cam after 1.2 MP Olympus, although the resolution was lower, I did have beter daylight shootings with Olympus. Sony seem to make this model without much attantion to the detail. 71% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

My first Digital Camera and still takes nice shotsStrengths: Macro mode is decent and so are the pictures. They come out pretty nice up to an 8x10 with the right software. Compact size can fit in a large pocket. No red eye! Weakness: Uses up AA batteries quickly. Most pictures are blurred wen the object moves...bad shutter and bad ISO so it doesn't do well in low light. I've had this camera for 3 years solely for taking pictures of place I travel to and my baby. It holds up well for a 3.2 in comparison to my newly upgraded Canon A620.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72
Sony's P72 is the latest in their midrange, mid-sized Cyber-shot "P" series line. A 3.2 megapixel CCD, 3x zoom, and host of useful features make this a solid all-around digicam, a great choice for a "family" camera. Top

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera
Strengths: This camera takes very sharp and high quality pictures! In addition, it is very easy to use. Using the inexpensive and long lasting AA size NiMH batteries is also a big plus.
Weakness: None so far.
I've previously owned a SONY DSC-P50 digital camera for two years, and very happy with it! Many of my friends who saw the pictures taken by this camera where very impressed. As a result, some of them bough the same ones. Now, I wanted to upgrade to a higher resolutions. Since 4-5MP CCD is too much for me, I bought the SONY DSC-P72 with 3.2MP CCD. Today, I did the comparisons of the pictures print-out from this P72 camera with the ones came from Canon S400, S230, and Olympus 550, P72 is much better! I really like it.
(Note: Both print-out were from CostCo 1-Hour Digital Photo)
