Strengths: Small, light weight, EASY to use even before reading the manual, GREAT photos, long battery life
Weaknesses: Haven't found any, yet.
Summary: This camera EXCEEDED my expectations. I had read reviews about short battery life, so I purchased an extra battery, which was NOT necessary. Pictures turn out GREAT and it is EASY to use. I have been using the camera extensively and have been delighted. Much easier than other camera I have played with - it is a fun camera to use. Fits into my jacket pocket or purse. It goes everywhere with me.

Strengths: Very compact and solid, auto mode plus lots of advanced features, very fast start up, focus and picture processing, great video quality, great macro, great for wife use, kid pics, advanced mode pics.
Weaknesses: None found
Summary: I think this is a great all around camera. Picture quality is great for prints up to at least 8x10 and viewing on a big TV, love the compactness and quickness of this camera to be ready to take the picture. Long battery life. Image file size at highest setting is about 1.5 MB which is great for storing and editing on my old computer system. Has been an excellent camera for my wife to take snap shots of the kids and for me who likes to use the more advanced features. I highly recommended it especially in the $300-$400 dollar range.

Strengths: Great menu system, easy to use. Camera overall is user-friendly, yet powerful. Very compact camera, memory, and recharchable battery. New Fuji 6.2 technology takes very detailed pix.Highly recommended.
Weaknesses: Needs to come with larger memory chip, but can be upgraded.
Summary: Great camera, glad I have waited for the price of digital to come down and the quality to go up. This is a 6.2m camera for a very good price. Very easy to use with lots of features. I cant find any negatives of this compact camera, about the size of a pack of cigarettes. Make sure to order some extra memory when ordering this camera(only 16m included at the moment)

Strengths: Easy to use. Many advanced features such as shutter speed or appeture priority, center focus and auto focus.Auto setting great. Controls are easy to use. Small but not too small. Manual easy to read
Weaknesses: Flash is a little weak but editing can brighten up pics easily. Fine pix software a little different than Adobe but it works fine.
Summary: This little camera is awesome. The 6.2 MP setting is so sharp that it spoils you. You can also change the setting to 3MP or 2MP. It would have been nice to have a 4MP setting. The camera has more features than most people will use but all you have to do is set to auto and fire away-the pictures are great. For the accomplished, you will find the advanced features easy to use. I purchased the camera, a case, a 128 card, and an extra lithium battery for just under $400 plus 20 bucks for fast shipping-an unbelievable value. Fuji is making a statement and putting their money where their mouth is. Canon, Sony, and Olympus should be worried.

Strengths: Very fast startup and autofocus time. Good battery life. Sharp pictures and good color. Many settings to choose. Very quick display and downloads from the xD card.
Weaknesses: Pitifully weak flash. Difficulty getting good color with flash photos. Plastic part on eyepiece came unglued and fell off.
Summary: I've been basically very satisfied with the performance and quality of this camera. This is my third and best digital camera so far. Photos print exceptionally with no tweaking whatsoever. After I got the hang of setting the white balance, colors looked much better. Auto color balance doesn't always produce the best results. Great features for action photography.

Strengths: The Fuji F-700 offers excellent digital photos even for the beginning digital camera user
Weaknesses: It takes a lot of extra work to use the raw image format
Summary: This is perhaps the very best point and shoot digital camera now being offered on the digital camera market. It is small, easily used, and produces excellent digital photo results. Yes, I agree, it is a somewhat outdated design, but the results are indeed high quality. With the selling price dropping quite rapidly on this digital camera, it is well worth your consideration. Obviously the real test is to see the results. The digital photo results will amaze you. You see, I too, was a skeptic until I was able to get a Fuji F-700 to use and view the results.

Just keep in mind that this is an very easy to use digital camera that gives rather spectacular results. No,it is not a Nikon D-70, but for less than $300 IT GIVE THE AVERAGE USER WONDERFUL DIGITAL PHOTOS!

1 Star ReviewGreat while it lasted
Strengths: Best camera I ever had. It had every feature I was looking for and took good pictures. Easy to use for an electronically challenged person.
Weaknesses: Best camera I ever used for 16 MONTHS! The F700 has an internal problem, which I will not attempt to identify, but will tell you that the manufacturer knows about but will not acknowledge it.
Summary: Thank goodness for the retailer from whom I purchsed the camera or I would be out $399.99. If your F700 has exceeded this 16 month time frame (we took a lot of pictures during this period so it may vary according to the number of pictures you take) consider yourself lucky and immediately seek an extended warranty because you are shooting on borrowed time. There is an internal chip problem and if you have one of the cameras with the faulty chip, it WILL just quit on you. Don't expect Fuji to step up unless you can get your retailer to go bat for you. Buyer beware on this fine camera...fine for a limited time.

Strengths: great pics, easy to use, easy software to set up and use. underwater housing is inexpensive. great battery life, charged in europe without adapters. you wont need the extra battery or charger.
Weaknesses: needs more memory included with purchase. 16 meg chip holds about 9 pics. white light problems underwater. read the manual.
Summary: buy an exteneded warranty! mine is a little over 1 year old. extensive use, lots of travel, underwater use. throw it in the backpack and go.

the focusing barrell stopped working.....$200.00 to repair.

but it's a good enough camera to pay for the repair and keep going.

Strengths: Small enough to fit in your pocket, but big enough to be able to provide very good quality.
Weaknesses: Too much JPEG compression. Fuji really should have offered some compression choices, as well as offered TIF output. I use a MAC and Fuji's software is lacking. But, I have plenty of other options.
Summary: I own a Fuji S1 Pro digital SLR and was looking for something that I could easily take with me for the not so photo critical trips. I tried a number of small point and shoots and settled on the F700.

It really does take nice saturated photos. The JPEG compression is a bit much for my tastes though. I do like the ability to shoot RAW, but this does lead to more work at the end of the day. Why didn't Fuji offer a TIF option?

I bought this camera from Ritz so that I could return it without hassle. But, all in all, it is a good camera and I'm going to keep it. It isn't up to SLR quality of course, but it IS better then most other small pocketable point and shoots out there. And, now that the price is down to $399, it is worth buying.

Strengths: Small, fast, good in shaded areas, nice video. Great screen.
Weaknesses: No cigarette plug charger.
Summary: Great for shooting in shade - at picnics, with side lit faces, or any time the sun is not coming down over your shoulder onto the entire subject. This camera captures what you see. Menu's a snap compared with some 35MM's. Software easy. Very fast and pocketable. Video is great. 8X10 prints are excellent. We shoot action pictures with driving horses (so far in early evening) and have gotten the shot no matter if set for aperture or shutter priority- this has been a big surprise. Two sensors per pixel works. As I understand that some larger, slower cameras are better value, I do not know enough to rate it "best". BUT I sure do like it!

Strengths: Raw files, great AVI 30 / sec Video capture, easy to operate, nice pictures. Can be used as Web cam. Has so many features so it can be for both: newbie’s and advanced photographers.
Weaknesses: If LCD viewer could be adjustable.
Summary: I was looking to buy well known brand name when I spotted this camera. I paid $360 and I kept the receipt close in case of disappointment. But I’m very pleased with what I have found on this camera as far as options, features and quality.

It is worth every cent. Previously I've been using Nikon Cool Pix 3MP, I liked it very much and paid $1000 about 5 years ago.

This Fuji beats up every piece of my old camera and it is less expensive.

I recommend it very much if you ask me about.

I'm Polish living in US.

Strengths: Quick shots 3 sec start up time fantastic photo's on i965 Canon printer but with Fuji finepix selected as Default Colour management
Weaknesses: small 16MB XD Picture card needs 256MB Min
Summary: Love the photo's I find out door the best indoor needs all lighting on to get best.

I bought this over a 5 megapixal camera because of cheaper cost and just as good pictures.

I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

1 Star ReviewWill last about 2 years normal use
Strengths: Fast startup to first picture taken
Weaknesses: After around 2 years of normal use, sensor went bad. Takes all "Black" pictures now, but the LCD can display menus and so on just fine...
Summary: I have had the Fuji 6800 and the F-700. Both cameras failed after a little less than 2 years of use. I do take a lot of pictures but did try to be as careful with the F-700 as I could. Apparently they are just not built to last and should be considered disposable. I did a little research recently and noticed quite a few people on other sites posting reviews with issues with the sensors going bad and a common complaint of lack of quality with warranty work. Since my cameras are past warranty there is no reason to send them in and get stuck paying the bench fees. I would highly suggest avoiding purchasing a used Fuji point and shoot camera based on my experience.

2 Star ReviewNever thought it would happen to mine!
Strengths: Great pictures, fast, small
Weaknesses: Died after 28 months of normal use
Summary: Mine worked like a charm for the time I had it. Read these reviews a little while ago and thought to myself how lucky that it didn't happen to my camera (I have an underwater housing and have taken it snorkeling more than once or twice with no issues) and then, bam, the day before a vacation, the screen went black. Tried taking pictures (thought maybe the previews were just lost) but loaded them on the pc and found out it was experiencing the same issue as others have had.

Bummed!

Thank goodness I have an older fuji finepix 2600 (many less pixels, much bulkier) that still works like a trooper. It got to go on another vacation.

2 Star ReviewShortest Shelf Life of Any Camera I Ever Owned
Strengths: Excellent handling, quick start-up, fine contrast capabilities
Weaknesses: Froze and died during inopportune times, then died completely after 14 months
Summary: I loved the feel and responsiveness of this camera. The manual setting capabilites provided a lot of options not available on most digital cameras of this type. I have many excellent photos ranging from high-speed motorcycle riders to still life table settings where the contrast between light and shadow are excellent. Unfortunately, the camera was dead after just fourteen months of use. I never had this problem with other top brand name cameras I own. Fuji service wanted to charge me over $100 to fix it. Sad- I won't purchase a Fuji again.
