Never thought it would happen to mine!Strengths: Great pictures, fast, small Weakness: Died after 28 months of normal use Mine worked like a charm for the time I had it. Read these reviews a little while ago and thought to myself how lucky that it didn't happen to my camera (I have an underwater housing and have taken it snorkeling more than once or twice with no issues) and then, bam, the day before a vacation, the screen went black. Tried taking pictures (thought maybe the previews were just lost) but loaded them on the pc and found out it was experiencing the same issue as others have had. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Shortest Shelf Life of Any Camera I Ever OwnedStrengths: Excellent handling, quick start-up, fine contrast capabilities Weakness: Froze and died during inopportune times, then died completely after 14 months I loved the feel and responsiveness of this camera. The manual setting capabilites provided a lot of options not available on most digital cameras of this type. I have many excellent photos ranging from high-speed motorcycle riders to still life table settings where the contrast between light and shadow are excellent. Unfortunately, the camera was dead after just fourteen months of use. I never had this problem with other top brand name cameras I own. Fuji service wanted to charge me over $100 to fix it. Sad- I won't purchase a Fuji again. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great dealStrengths: 1. Easily transfers pictures to computer through USB port, even without using the provided software 2. Great picture quality and good zooming abilities 3. Very easy to operate Weakness: 1. Batterie doesn't seem to hold a charge for very long 2. Takes a few seconds to save pictures before you can take another one. 3. Would be very nice if it came with carying case and larger XD pict I dont think that my docking station works, but it doesnt really matter that much. The same cable to connect that will also fit into the camera itself. This is an awesome camera and a great deal. I bought it for my wife who uses it to put pictures of her artwork on the computer for her portfolio, and if she is happy with it then anyone should be. We have taken it on a few trips already and the only thing that I dont like are the wait time between pictures and that there is no carying case. I would still reccomend this to anyone, and have no regrets about buying it. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

CCD MalfunctionStrengths: The camera takes great still shots and has great autofocus compared to other digital cameras that I've had in the past. Weakness: The camera only lasted about two years before the CCD went bad. Dealers mention that the Fuji digital cameras always has the same problem. I will never buy another Fuji digital camera. Fuji makes great film for product and nature shots, but I do not want to go back to film. I guess they're technology for digital cameras are not perfected yet. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Will last about 2 years normal useStrengths: Fast startup to first picture taken Weakness: After around 2 years of normal use, sensor went bad. Takes all "Black" pictures now, but the LCD can display menus and so on just fine... I have had the Fuji 6800 and the F-700. Both cameras failed after a little less than 2 years of use. I do take a lot of pictures but did try to be as careful with the F-700 as I could. Apparently they are just not built to last and should be considered disposable. I did a little research recently and noticed quite a few people on other sites posting reviews with issues with the sensors going bad and a common complaint of lack of quality with warranty work. Since my cameras are past warranty there is no reason to send them in and get stuck paying the bench fees. I would highly suggest avoiding purchasing a used Fuji point and shoot camera based on my experience. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Same chip problem hereStrengths: Great picture quality. Fast startup. Weakness: Slow focus time can cause you to miss pictures. Doesn'the work well with the 1 GB xD cards. I have recently had the same chip problem described in another review. I have had the camera for two years so I can'the complain too much. I liked it a lot before the recent problem. Great while it lastedStrengths: Best camera I ever had. It had every feature I was looking for and took good pictures. Easy to use for an electronically challenged person. Weakness: Best camera I ever used for 16 MONTHS! The F700 has an internal problem, which I will not attempt to identify, but will tell you that the manufacturer knows about but will not acknowledge it. Thank goodness for the retailer from whom I purchsed the camera or I would be out $399.99. If your F700 has exceeded this 16 month time frame (we took a lot of pictures during this period so it may vary according to the number of pictures you take) consider yourself lucky and immediately seek an extended warranty because you are shooting on borrowed time. There is an internal chip problem and if you have one of the cameras with the faulty chip, it WILL just quit on you. Don't expect Fuji to step up unless you can get your retailer to go bat for you. Buyer beware on this fine camera...fine for a limited time. 89% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix F700 6.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Small, compact, fast start-up and long battery life. Great pictures! Weakness: Incl. 16MB memory too small, need 256MB min. Great camera! I got this camera as a gift last year to replace my old Toshiba 4MP. I love the compact size and the speed of start-up. Slide the switch and you can take a picture in 3 secs.! Great quality pics in auto mode and lots of features for the more advanced photographer. Macro mode is very good as well! I took this camera to camp with me for a week. Took 140 pictures and a 10 sec movie clip before the battery finally died on day 6! Got a few great close-ups of a butterfly too! I highly recommend it! Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix F700 6.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Ease of use, and quality of shots Weakness: have not encountered any yet. I had this camera since last december'o4, and recently was on vacation in Guam, and as a thank yougift to the family who showed us around and pretty much opened thier home to us I gave them my camera which the fatherhad taken a liking to. I then went online to pricegrabber and immediately purchased a replacement of the exact camera.Just shows how much I really liked the fuji fine pix Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Good CameraStrengths: Great clear pics. Easy to use. Has multiple shot and moving image feature and takes short video. Weakness: It is bulky and you need the cradle to upload pics to the PC. The camera is easy to use and it has a good manual. However, I prefer a sleeker design and the images cannot be uploaded to the PC without the cradle. But otherwise, it is a good buy. It's easy to use and has many features, video, B/W photos, moving images shots, multiple shots. Pictures are nice and clear, definitely worth the price. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Fujifilm FinePix F700 6.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Very compact and solid, auto mode plus lots of advanced features, very fast start up, focus and picture processing, great video quality, great macro, great for wife use, kid pics, advanced mode pics. Weakness: None found I think this is a great all around camera. Picture quality is great for prints up to at least 8x10 and viewing on a big TV, love the compactness and quickness of this camera to be ready to take the picture. Long battery life. Image file size at highest setting is about 1.5 MB which is great for storing and editing on my old computer system. Has been an excellent camera for my wife to take snap shots of the kids and for me who likes to use the more advanced features. I highly recommended it especially in the $300-$400 dollar range. 95% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix F700 6.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: The Fuji F-700 offers excellent digital photos even for the beginning digital camera user Weakness: It takes a lot of extra work to use the raw image format This is perhaps the very best point and shoot digital camera now being offered on the digital camera market. It is small, easily used, and produces excellent digital photo results. Yes, I agree, it is a somewhat outdated design, but the results are indeed high quality. With the selling price dropping quite rapidly on this digital camera, it is well worth your consideration. Obviously the real test is to see the results. The digital photo results will amaze you. You see, I too, was a skeptic until I was able to get a Fuji F-700 to use and view the results. 91% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix F700 6.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Easy to use. Many advanced features such as shutter speed or appeture priority, center focus and auto focus.Auto setting great. Controls are easy to use. Small but not too small. Manual easy to read Weakness: Flash is a little weak but editing can brighten up pics easily. Fine pix software a little different than Adobe but it works fine. This little camera is awesome. The 6.2 MP setting is so sharp that it spoils you. You can also change the setting to 3MP or 2MP. It would have been nice to have a 4MP setting. The camera has more features than most people will use but all you have to do is set to auto and fire away-the pictures are great. For the accomplished, you will find the advanced features easy to use. I purchased the camera, a case, a 128 card, and an extra lithium battery for just under $400 plus 20 bucks for fast shipping-an unbelievable value. Fuji is making a statement and putting their money where their mouth is. Canon, Sony, and Olympus should be worried. 93% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Fujifilm FinePix F700 6.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Small enough to fit in your pocket, but big enough to be able to provide very good quality. Weakness: Too much JPEG compression. Fuji really should have offered some compression choices, as well as offered TIF output. I use a MAC and Fuji's software is lacking. But, I have plenty of other options. I own a Fuji S1 Pro digital SLR and was looking for something that I could easily take with me for the not so photo critical trips. I tried a number of small point and shoots and settled on the F700. 83% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix F700 6.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Very fast startup and autofocus time. Good battery life. Sharp pictures and good color. Many settings to choose. Very quick display and downloads from the xD card. Weakness: Pitifully weak flash. Difficulty getting good color with flash photos. Plastic part on eyepiece came unglued and fell off. I've been basically very satisfied with the performance and quality of this camera. This is my third and best digital camera so far. Photos print exceptionally with no tweaking whatsoever. After I got the hang of setting the white balance, colors looked much better. Auto color balance doesn't always produce the best results. Great features for action photography. 92% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix F700 6.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Great menu system, easy to use. Camera overall is user-friendly, yet powerful. Very compact camera, memory, and recharchable battery. New Fuji 6.2 technology takes very detailed pix.Highly recommended. Weakness: Needs to come with larger memory chip, but can be upgraded. Great camera, glad I have waited for the price of digital to come down and the quality to go up. This is a 6.2m camera for a very good price. Very easy to use with lots of features. I cant find any negatives of this compact camera, about the size of a pack of cigarettes. Make sure to order some extra memory when ordering this camera(only 16m included at the moment) 93% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix F700 6.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Small, light weight, EASY to use even before reading the manual, GREAT photos, long battery life Weakness: Haven't found any, yet. This camera EXCEEDED my expectations. I had read reviews about short battery life, so I purchased an extra battery, which was NOT necessary. Pictures turn out GREAT and it is EASY to use. I have been using the camera extensively and have been delighted. Much easier than other camera I have played with - it is a fun camera to use. Fits into my jacket pocket or purse. It goes everywhere with me. 97% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix F700 6.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Raw files, great AVI 30 / sec Video capture, easy to operate, nice pictures. Can be used as Web cam. Has so many features so it can be for both: newbie’s and advanced photographers. Weakness: If LCD viewer could be adjustable. I was looking to buy well known brand name when I spotted this camera. I paid $360 and I kept the receipt close in case of disappointment. But I’m very pleased with what I have found on this camera as far as options, features and quality. 74% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix F700 6.2 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Small, fast, good in shaded areas, nice video. Great screen. Weakness: No cigarette plug charger. Great for shooting in shade - at picnics, with side lit faces, or any time the sun is not coming down over your shoulder onto the entire subject. This camera captures what you see. Menu's a snap compared with some 35MM's. Software easy. Very fast and pocketable. Video is great. 8X10 prints are excellent. We shoot action pictures with driving horses (so far in early evening) and have gotten the shot no matter if set for aperture or shutter priority- this has been a big surprise. Two sensors per pixel works. As I understand that some larger, slower cameras are better value, I do not know enough to rate it "best". BUT I sure do like it! 78% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

F700 20,000 pictures/videos and going strong
Strengths: takes a lick'n and keeps on tick'n
Weakness: small LCD compared to what is out there now.
My family of 4 children (youngest is now 5) and self have shot and shot, video and pictures (all at maximum 6 meg) and have now eclipsed 20 THOUSAND pictures. Bought it new back in 2003 (I think, lost track of time) taken it everywhere. Taken in a couple of times in the first year because of hard drops which the LCD was replaced, good since then! Case is now cracked open a bit & the guts are showing, the thinking is 'we'll keep on using it until it dies' but it won't! Hard to give up on it when it keeps on working well for us. Really nice to get a good buy, we will most likely be buying an other Fugi when the time comes!
