1 Star ReviewAn impossible DSLR
Strengths: 24Megapixels, capable of iso 50.
Weaknesses: Price, Speed, Noise, lowered ISO Capability,
Summary: In a nut shell D3x has the great 24megapixel. That's it!

It's slower than the D3($4300) the ISO range is really suited for slower photography since it's geared toward the low ISO 50, and cuts off at 6400 instead of the ISO 25600 of D3 and D700, it's also way-way too costly at $8000 tag! Even Canon EOS 1Ds Mrk III has come down to $6500 with similar features, but the Canon is how many years old??? Nikon could/should have introduced something with stellar functionality at such price.

The 24megapixel, Awesome Zeiss lens using, fullframe, 5fps, Sony Alpha 9000 will out do it at approx $3000 price tag.

Besides all that, all these cameras will loose values in no time compared to the film days. Digital SLR bodies goes through such rapid evolution, and there's not a way to "upgrade" its innards(sensor & processor). Therefore you pretty much end up throwing away a rugged pro-SLR body, just because the sensor & processor has gone through improvements. This is a really wasteful use of equipment, and technology. Lens will hold value for 10~20 years! All I can say is get a good lens and go with D700, D3(if you think you need serious durability, and speed), EOS 5D Mrk 2, or Sony Alpha 9000 for the megapixel counts.
