Caplio RR30

Strengths: the Caplio RR30 has more options than most point and shoot cameras. You can get some artistic and above average results after taking the time understand the settings.

Weakness: It broke for no apparent reason, and cannot be fixed. Watch out for that.

I would recommend the camera, definitely. I am assuming I must have had a lemon. I'm sure they do not all break within 4 months, although that may be worth looking into.

Ricoh Caplio RR30

Strengths: For a 3Mega Pixel camera the photographs are clear and crisp, I've had no problems with focusing. Macro at 1cm is great and sharp as a pin Small shutter delay means WYSIWYG Light/small

Weakness: Battery life is poor, but then it only has 2 AA's No camera carry bag

I found this camera easy to work and the manual on the CD supplied with the camera is very comprehensive and easy to follow.
I also use this camera with an underwater housing where it is just as simple to use and I get fantastic results.
Go back to film no thanks

Ricoh Caplio RR30

Strengths: It does take pictures. And it is small enough to fit in your pocketbook.

Weakness: It is very confussing to work. Lack of Information in manuals. And no carry bag for camera.

I have taken many pictures with this camera, and almost all of them were out of focus. There are many scene settings, but they really did not work.Checking your images is easy to do in play back mode. And I would say that is all that is good about this camera.
