Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Zoom, menu features, everything about it.

Weakness: Nothing I can find.

This is a great camera, its software has an over two hundred page instruction manual and if you study it you will be taking pictures with professional quality in no time. I have never owned a digital camera before and this one really shocked me at how well it worked, out of the box (it has a quick start guide), without any instruction for all its features or changing any settings (it has an Auto mode setting from the factory). Anybody that has a problem with this baby just needs to read the instructions. The menus took me a little getting used to as I began exploring them, while reading the instructions, but after that there were no problems.

The Ni-MH batteries take 9 hours to charge but last really well with my 128Mb. XD memory I added, and with it will take about 150 pictures for me at a time. Wow! The 16Mb. XD included memory is only good for like 18 pictures so get added memory.

The "Through The Lens" view finder can be used with your glasses ON and you can swap between it and its TFT LCD review screen.

Want to take a picture of a moving object without a blur? It will do it!

40X Zoom with the 4X digital and 10X optical really drags those distant shots up close and sharp!

4 million pixels? This thing can be set for 8 million effective pixels! I've never seen pictures so clearly with so much detail before and I had no idea a consumer grade camera could be so good.

Run don't walk to get one of these if you want a great camera. Oh yeah, the new model C765 is out now and the price for this one is dropping. The only major difference is the C765 uses lighter rechargeable lithium batteries (big deal).

Want to make a movie? It does that too! Get a 256Mb card and make about a 15 minute movie with sound! Or with a 512Mb. card about a 30 minute movie! (it uses Quick Time movie format)

There's no way to say enough about it here. Its just excellent.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 10X Optical Zoom, Outstanding battery life, Good price, Great on full auto, or has many standard manual controls.. Macro and Super Macro... Hot shoe

Weakness: None for me..

I just Love "our" new Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom..
This is our second digital camera, and I still consider myself a digital camera neophyte, but this camera has you getting great results right out of the box..
My wife and I have been using it in all kinds of different situations over the past couple of weeks, with very pleasing results.
Whether it is snapping pictures of the grandchildren indoors, or outside, or taking pictures of live bands in night clubs, this camera always seems to deliver.
I was looking at the 5 Mega Pixel cameras for our second digital purchase, but the charts that I’ve seen (Mega Pixel to print sizes) makes me think that this 4 Mega Pixel camera will do us just fine, and with outstanding battery life, and 10 times optical zoom, this camera was the clear winner...
My only other comment is we may get the Olympus FL-40 dedicated flash to take full advantage of the Ultra Zoom, in less than perfect lighting situations...
Happy Snapping...

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Feature-rich, Excellent quality shots, Batteries live forever, 10X zoom. The Camera provides for a full range of uses simple point and shoot to manual I also like saving 4 different user settings

Weakness: the Flash shadow in Macro shots.. the girp area is a bit small and took me some getting used to happy with the rest

Overall this is a quality camer that takes high quality shots. It feels sturdy in the hand, and is a breeze to use. The menus are easy to navigate allows quick access to saved settings. I like to take the full range of shots, indoor, night, action, portraits and landscapes, this has worked beautifully with all. Using the zoom you should definately invest in a tripod.
For those who want a point and shoot, with a great zoom this is it, for those looking for more advance features this is also a quality buy for under 500$.
In short I am very Pleased thanks Olympus!

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Powerful optical zoom, easy to use, loads of manual controls, excellent image quality, list goes on and on!

Weakness: Autofocus time is slightly more sluggish than I would like. Zoom operation is also a little sluggish.

The C-750 delivers crisp, sharp images. The color is excellent in my opinion. Accurate and well saturated without being overdone. It's easy to use. If you're a novice snapshooter just set it on AUTO and fire away! The long 10x optical zoom is a HUGE plus for this camera. You can fill the frame with subjects that would otherwise still be a speck in the middle of the frame. Full Auto delivers great results in most lighting situations. For more advanced photographers, there is a lot of flexibility with this camera to easily adjust exposure, aperature, shutter speed, contrast, saturation, white balance, and more. Menus and mode dial are easy to use and intuitive. I am very pleased with this camera! It is not pocket size, but it is light and small, and handles nicely. It fits into a small belt pack if you're hiking or on the go.

A plus for me is the batteries are AA size. It comes with rechargeable AA's and a charger. The nice thing about AA size is it is easy to find them anywhere at a reasonable price. Try to find one of those proprietary odd size batteries that many other cameras use at a convenience store when you most need them and you'll understand my point.

Only mild negatives for me are the autofocus is a little slow sometimes, and the zoom is a little sluggish sometimes. Mild negatives that do not take away from the overall enjoyment of the camera.

A big Thumbs Up! There is no better combination of zoom, image quality, ease of use, and price available now.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Zoom! Battery Life, remote

Weakness: None so far.

I am headed to Africa for safari and instead of buying a bigger lens for my 35mm Canon I decided to go digital. The 10x zoom (380mm equivalent) convinced me to try this camera. I also bought the TCON-1.7x extender. The camera has been great so far. Super crisp pictures and hand-holding at 10x works well although a tripod and remote definitely works better. With the 1.7x extender hand-holding isn't really viable.

Since we are going to be on Kilimanjaro for 8 days I decided to do a battery test to see how many shots I can get on a set of batteries. It has turned out far better than I thought it would be. With the included rechargables, I've shot over 225 pictures on a charge and I'm still going! I can get 19 pictures on the 16MB card, so the battery life has included downloading after every 19 pictures and erasing them. I do lots of zooming, AF and> 50% flash.

I've also bought a 256MB card and a xd to CF adapter so I can download the pictures to a 20 GB storage device that my brother-in-law will have on safari (but he won't be on the climb).

Hopefully the camera will hold up to the cold on the climb and the dust on safari. My 6 year-old Canon Rebel has made it through many, many backpacking trips and mountain summits without fail and is coming along as a backup. Afterall, that's what the porters are for!

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Great telephoto (380mm equivalent), high quality images

Weakness: Only 38mm equivalent wide angle, noise at ISO 400, xD card, plastic tripod socket

Fantasic camera! I waited through several product release delays, including the temptation to give in and buy another camera (Olympus C-740, Fuji S602), but the bottom line is I am very glad I waited. The first few pictures I took with the camera were very good, and I am sure as I learn the camera and digital photography techniques, the pictures will only get better. While I am not yet ready to replace my 35mm film Nikon system, this camera will likely be my choice for casual family and vacation travel pictures. The bulk and weight difference between the C-750 vs. the Nikon F-100 + 28-200mm lens + 200-400mm lens + flash gun is incredible and all I am giving up with the C-750 is the 28mm wide angle, some flash range, and big (11x14 cropped or larger) print resolution.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: GREAT CAMERA WORKS JUST LIKE I HAD HOPED.EASY TO LEARN AND OPERATE. EVEN MY 4 YR.OLD CAN TURN IT ON AND TAKE A GOOD PICTURE

Weakness: SHUTER LAG CAN BE A PROBLEM IF YOU HAVE TO A FAST SHOT, MY WANT TO SET UP A FAST CUSTOM SETTING TO USE.ALSO YOU WILL PROBABLY WANT TO BUY A NEW PRINTER TO DO THE CAMERAS INCREDABLE IMAGES JUSTICE.

GREAT CAMERA GREAT PICTURES GEAT PRICE EVEN THE VIDEO OPTION FOR SHORT VIDEOS LOKS GREAT.USING PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS FOR EDITING.I'VE REALLY ENJOYED THE RESULT.BUY A TRIPOD CAMERA DOES NOT HAVE IMAGE STABILIZATION FOR THOSE 10X ZOOM SHOTS.PANARAMIC FUNCTION ALSO WORKS WELL.I'VE ALSO BEEN AMAZED AT THE ASSORIES AVAILABLE. I'VE PURCHASED THE SCREW ON LENS BARREL WITH UV AND POLARIZED FILTER. THERE IS ALSO A WIDE ANGLE LENS AVAILABLE, EVEN AN UNDERWATER CAMERA HOUSING.ALSO CONSIDER THE NEW C-770 LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER GREAT CAMMERA

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 10x optical zoom, crisp stunning pics, 4 megapixels, lots of features, etc.

Weakness: none except the included 16MB xd card, which is too small for a 4mp camera

I've bought the camera after 15 years of using SLR (my last camera was Canon EOS300), feeling tired of carrying the whole camera bag full of lenses and accessories around. After careful selection and viewing the reports and reviews of users, I decide to buy the Olympus C750UZ. True to all the comments, I was not disappointed at all. The pictures were very sharp, autofocus was good in digital standard and the features were incredible.... thumbs up to Olympus for making my travel pictures better with lighter equipments to carry.

Looking foward to buy the underwater casing and try my hand at underwater photography.

The are lots of interesting places to visit in my country, Malaysia....and lots of good photos to be taken

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Easy to Use for beginners

I have never owned a camera until I purchased this one a few days ago. I certainly have a lot to learn about all the great features this camera has. The wonderful thing about this one is that it is also just a simple point and shoot camera as well as having some very complicated features for a beginner like myself. I am very happy I bought this one and am looking forward to the many hours of teaching myself the many features of the C750. The 8.5 x 11 photos I have printed out are incredible. Almost professional looking. I highly recommend this camera, even for beginners like myself.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 10X optical zoom, small enough, very easy to operate,4 megapixel, takes AA batteries & comes with rechargeables/charger. Great indoor pics with no flash! Incredibly sharp pictures all around!

Weakness: Shutter button response is slower than I'd like - common to all digitals.

I've been able to use it very effectively without reading all the documentation which shows how user friendly it is.
I needed it quickly, so I just called the 800# of the company giving the best price with a good seller rating since they usually call you to confirm the order anyway before shipping. Got good service and the camera arrived 1 day early!
I suggest buying accessories like memory cards at local discount stores instead of online. Example: 256mb xd card at Costco = $85, online at vendor I purchased the camera from = $159. Our Costco also sells a high speed AA battery recharger for only $20!
Although it's not as small and light as the other pocket sized digitals it is still smaller than my SLR and has the great zoom to make carrying it around worth it.
I highly recommend buying this one!

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Great Price, for an excellent camera

Weakness: You can only buy Olympus Cards for this camera.

The Salesmans at Protek Direct was extremely helpful, and it was the cheapest way to go. The camera has an almost endless amount of features. Two of the best are is 10x optical lense which can't be found on any other camera for this price, and its high quality of resolution. I highly recommend purchasing htis camera.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Camera has great picture quality for close ups and distance, even without the extra lens you could purchase. The ease of use with the menus is especially great as well.

Weakness: The video images have a poorer picture quality than the still photo images. I bought this for the camera not the video. The video is a bonus for sending digital images to friends and family via email.

I bought additionally a 512 MB XD Picture Card than the 16 MB card included and also bought the 0.45X Micro Lens and the 2.0X High Defination lens. I now have no limitations in what I want to shoot and this camera is a great package at little cost compared to others I checked out before purchasing this combination. I highly recommend this to any amature or professional photographer. It will be well worth your investment, you won't be ashamed or disapointed in this little beauty!!!

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 10X optical Zoom. Hot shoe. 4 MEGA Pixel

Weakness: Hot shoe is designed for the Olympus Flash. Flash is very expensive. It will allow you to use other manufacture flash in Manual mode. There is a Caution to prevent damage to camera.

Started to get use to camera after playing with for several hours. There are alot of menues, but managable. Looks like this will be a definite KEEPER.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Great zoom, more options than advertised, excellent crisp pictures with accurate color and great resolution, manual focus, solid feel metal case, remote control is great for family portraits.

Weakness: Memory of course. I have seen better video modes. Panorama mode can only be used with Olympus xD cards. Zoom a little slow in responding sometimes.

I have done a lot of research and decided on this camera. It boiled down to picture quality and I have not been disappointed. This is a superb camera with lots of options for the camera enthusiast. The zoom is incredible. Good lenses, It can be a simple camera with its auto mode and yet has many adjustments for the more experienced photographer. The panorama mode which can only be used. The camera downloads the pictures to the computer very fast. I recommend buying the filter adapter and a UV filter. With the two of those the camera lenses and zoom is well protected. Quality camera. Remote control is great for when you need to be in pictures, can keep taking pictures without reseting the camera.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: This camera has all the bells and whistles of the C 2100 and more. It is easy to use like all Olympus digitals and the cropping feature is the best.

Weakness: Problems in low light but this is the same for all digital units.

This is the third C series camera I have owned and it is dandy. I was disappointed in the C 720 for lack of the basic features offered in the C 2100. The 750 brings almost all of the original items in and adds several more that are easy to understand and quite useful. Taking sound stills that are actually on the photo is great.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Zoom, auto settings, AA Batteries

Weakness: Time from pressing button to take picture and when the picture is actually captured is too slow

Excellent camera for the money. Great options for the advanced user, but simple to use for the novice. Picture quality is awesome, zoom is excellent - it was the reason we bought this camera. Only problem with the zoom is you need a steady hand as any shaking will blur the picture on full zoom. We looked at many cameras and did a lot of research and am very pleased with this one.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Very easy to use. First time user friendly. Has all the features I needed. Doesn't have preset zooms like some digital cameras do. Has timer and remote control. Does much more than most dgtl cmras

Weakness: Only comes with 16 meg memory card. Instuction manual could be better. Has just the basics.

I love the camera! It has all the options I wanted. The batteries are easy to find and not that expensive. The zoom is awesome and has many features than I know what to do with. So far nothing has disapointed me. The auto focus can't seem to focus on up close items. The zoom method seems to be a little slow but try and find a digital camera that isn't. I like the viewfinder unlike some people. I would highly reccommend this camera for anyone just starting or even an advanced user! Two thumbs up from me!

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Small size. High power optical zoom. Very versatile. Easy to use. It's an all around great camera.

Weakness: When taking movies of moving objects the camera sometimes has a hard time staying in focus and the frame rate is a little bit slow, but I didn't buy it to take movies, so it's kind of a non-issue to m

I bought this camera from "AcesClub". They called me shortly after my internet order and pushed hard to sell me over priced accessories. The $19.99 shipping charge only got me UPS ground shipping. They also added on an insurance charge of $22.69 after I had already ordered via the internet and gave them my credit card number. I paid it because the camera was still a pretty good price and I wanted to get it before hunting season. The bad part is that they didn't ship the camera until two weeks after my order, and then only after I sent e-mail asking for a tracking number. I never got a reply or tracking number. Three weeks after I ordered, the camera finally showed up, right after hunting season. I then had a tracking number on the package, that's how I know when they finally shipped it.

I really like this camera. My main requirements were high optical zoom, small size, and ease of use. This camera meets all of my requirements. I will get a small tripod because will all high zoom cameras it's easy to blur the picture with a small movement while at high magnification. I have a big tripod, but that defeats my purpose of small size and being easy to transport.

A couple negative things about it are that it didn't come with a camera case and only came with 16MB of memory. I'll probably never use the small 16MB memory card because I bought a 512MB card that'll hold thousands of pictures take about 1/2 hour of movies.

Strengths: 10X zoom, Resolution, ease of use, media(xD cards), pre set modes and on and on.

Weakness: Documentation on CD and uses abobe acrobat.

I am not an expert photographer but after buying this camera I take pictures like one. This camera Rocks! After reviewing digital Cameras similiar to the C750UZ I decided to but it based on user reviews all over the internet. Yes it is easy to use. Yes the Zoom is very powerful. Yes the built in menus are intelligent and easy to follow. I was taking high quality pictures from the day I bought it.Its not cheap but what is the price of quality?

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 10x Zoom, excellent quality at max zoom, fast autofocus, excellent macro, superb picture quality for specs

Weakness: low light focus (to be expected), a little complex but definitely usable when you learn, 16mb card

This camera is absolutely superb. I have used quite a few different digital cameras and did alot of homework before purchasing this little baby and definitely don't regret it at all. I highly recommend the 512 meg card, it takes 515 photos at max quality, and 1600 at 1280x920(or whatever the second resolution is). The picture quality is SUPERB. Quality of pictures at max zoom is also excellent.

This camera is also sturdy and feels fantastic. It's definitely not pocketable but the shoulder strap is fine. I'm yet to test this on high speed aircraft shots but I am sure it will do fine.

I definitely recommend this camera to anyone. I considered the Fuji S5000, the HP Photosmart 945, and the Nikon CP5700 (which was a little expensive), and I am glad I bought this one. Go out and get it!!

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Amazingly easy to use, lots of settings for flexibility. 10x optical is fabulous. Pictures are very sharp. Camedia software and cable easy to use to download & edit pics.

Weakness: Found out the hard way it's way too easy to reformat, which deletes all pics on disk. More of an operator error, but still evident.

Amazingly easy to use, even on manual settings. Instx are only about 40 pages. Pictures are more crisp and clear than I would have anticipated. My first digital camera, and I chose a real winner.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 10X Zoom, Advanced features, good action shots

Weakness: media card not accepted in most photo printers

I am very impressed with the quality of photos I am making with the Olympus 750 Ultra Zoom camera. The 10X zoom was the main drawing feature I was looking for. This is my third digital camera. The standard auto and manual features are great. The only drawback I saw was that the xp card could not be read by my photo printer. However, it's easy to connect the camera to the PC and download photos. One review mentioned that the camera would only use the xD card from Olympus--I purchased a 128 xD picture card at Wal-Mart made by Fujifilm for the same price of the 64 Olympus card. The only difference was the panaromic feature (which I didn't care about). The 750 is an excellent camera to capture action shots, too. That's a big advantage for grandparents of a two-year-old. I expect the camera to replace my film camera--it's that good!

Strengths: Ten power optical zoom. Can't be beat. Camera easy to use. Great photo quality and downloading was a no-brainer, hooked up and a new drive appeared on my desktop, no S/W setup reqd.

Weakness: None really. Menu system is complicated to learn but what do you expect from such a versatile camera. Congratulations Olympus.

An excellent camera! I did a lot of research before selecting
this one and I have not been disappointed. Perhaps I would
have asked that a "wrist" strap be included, they are hard to
find in camera shops. But a small complaint.
This camera RULES!

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: All the bells and whistles, yet easy to use on auto. 10X zoom.

Weakness: None, really, just some features that take getting used to, such as shutter button response Would like higher than 400 ASA though.

Have used the camera in many different light and action situations. Overall results are excellent. As a long-time 35mm SLR fan, I wanted to match the features of my SLR when I went digital. I exceeded all, except for the ASA capability. The optical zoom is great for places like the Washington, DC monuments and memorials, when you want to get people into the picture as well. Definitely buy a spare set or two of rechargeable NiMH batteries and a quick charger, it's a cheap investment. Also buy at least 1 more xD card - I have a 128 mb that gives me 140 pictures at the default HQ setting - which is fine for 95% of my work. Even that resolution prints well, on a good ink jet with photo quality paper, even at 8 X 10.

Chose the 750 over the 740 because of the hot shoe, but don't have a dedicated flash yet.

I spent a lot of time researching digital before I bought. I made no mistake and you won't either. (I may be retiring my SLR soon.)

Strengths: had item and shipped over night air. ON TIME. Received camera next day at 10:30 am FEDEX

I was looking for a new digital camera, to take on my vacation out east. Found the right price and store. Call them on the phone Tuesday mornig and talked to a salesperson. I asked if camera could be at my house by Friday and he said yes, will ship in out the next day, overnight. Well, I did not expect camera until Thursday. Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 10X Zoom is awesome! Versitility of exposures very good. Resolution gives excellent 8x10 enlargements. Not quite 35mm quality, but oh so close except for the most critical work.

Weakness: Major weakness is underexposed low light photos, especially sports action photos. Can't get a fast enough shutter speed to get crisp photos, and post-op manipulation sacrifices resolution.

Except for low-light problems, am thoroughly pleased with this camera. Haven't used the video function yet, as I carry separate digital video camera on shoots. Also purchased the 1.7X supplemental telephoto lens, but at 17X optical zoom, it's too shakey to hand hold. Tripod a necessity for good sharpness. Tele/wide angle lever takes some getting used to to fine-tune your composition, but with practice it works well. Also, the time delay in recording the photo to media often causes just missing the peak action shot, and follow-up photos are often missed because of the time it takes to focus and recharge the flash unit. But, overall, and compared to previous digital cameras I've owned (two earlier Olympus models) this C-750 is a winner. Would definitely buy it again, and don't seen anything potentially better on the market at antwhere near the price ($399).

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: The zoom is fantastic, the features are abundant

Weakness: The quality of the picture is grainier than I would expect from a 4 MP camera. The insturction manual is so lousy as to defy comprehension. The on-screen amnual is ok, but not intuitive

Overall this is a nice camera, mostly for the price, the MP, and especially the zoom. I think I would have much preferred for the quality of the picture to be much superior to what I am able to get. I would hesitate buying an Olympus again because I frankly expected a whole lot better quality.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 10X digital zoom, Panoramic shots, 4 Megapixel resolution, Small size (easy to carry around)

Weakness: Shutter button to picture taking delay for action shots, poor low-light focus

I got a point and shoot digital camera a couple years ago and enjoyed the ease of use and ability to throw away the bad pictures with no guilt, but missed my SLR 35mm experiences. SLR digital cameras are still out of my price range so I was looking for something in-between.

The Olympus C-750 fulfilled my need for a good zoom camera (so far I have not used the digital zoom) with good picture quality. I didn't realize what I was missing having just one megapixel with my first camera. The 4 megapixels and the zoom give such good pictures that I now feel comfortable entering photo contests.

The main problem I have with the C-750 is the delay from pushing the button to taking the picture. When I try to take action pictures at my daughter's soccer game, I often end up missing the picture completely. Even trying to hold the shutter release at half point to hold the focus (a difficult task when you are moving the camera to follow the action) doesn't cut the time enough. And the manual focus is almost impossible to use.

Maybe I am missing something in the software, but I cannot find the pictures on my computer using Windows Explorer. If I want to e-mail a picture or back them up to a CD, I have to select all the pictures in the Olympus software, then paste them into a directory in Windows Explorer.

All that said, This camera has re-energized my interest in photography. I am glad I bought it and plan to get lots more use out of it.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: easy to use, great pictures, zoom is awesome

Weakness: so many features I'm still learning how to use them all.

this is my first digital camera and I love it. It is easy to use, I get great pictures. I took pictures at a college football game from an upper deck, with full zoom and I got unbelievable pictures.

This camera is simply the best!

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Many advanced features including audio, quicktime movie, TV viewing capability, photo editing/archiving software, remote control.

Weakness: Printed Reference Manual (238 pgs CD only) and Camera Case Not provided by Olympus. If you want a filter us MUST buy a lens adapter, you CANNOT place the filter directly on the front of the camera.

I'm leaving on an extended trip, it's really too for me to comment on the camera, yet I would advise that a future purchaser look over the OPTIONAL components for this camera on Olympus' Web site. (Warning, these accessories are very hard to find). Besides the Lens adapter problem (which forced me to place a second order with the web retailer), a person should consider the "Optional" AC adapter for downloading photos to a PC and for viewing photos on a TV. Finally, I would recommend considering purchasing a "quick" NI-MH battery charger. The charger that comes from Olympus takes 9 hours to re-charge. The quick charger will do the same the same job in a quarter of the time and many of them include a car ligther adapter and have 220 Volt compatibility when traveling overseas.

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 10x Optical zoom, many adjustments to picture modes, B&W feature, ease of use

Weakness: Electronic Viewfinder!!!!! 16 mb xD card (why bother?)

This is the second Olympus Digital I own - the first was the D-490 Zoom which I really love, but I wanted the higher optical zoom of the C-750 and the higher resolution. The D-490 has an optical viewfinder, so what you are looking at is crystal clear and true colored. The electronic viewfinder of the C-750 is AWFUL!!! You see a screen pattern which really reduces the clarity and the colors are totally distorted. I am praying that I actually got a defective unit, but I did call Olympus today to ask about this. I find it is almost unusable, particularly outdoors in bright sunlight. They did acknowledge that the electronic viewfinder is not as clear as the optical, but being "awful" is subjective, he did not agree that this viewfinder is difficult to see what you are doing. I would assume that if this is the way all of them are, I would have read this complaint in various reviews, which I did not. So I'm off to a camera store to look through another one to see if mine is just a defect. Other than that, this is a GREAT camera - but if this IS the way the viewfinder is supposed to look like, this will be a problem. I am very disappointed right now... Anyone else have this problem with the viewfinder????

Olympus Camedia C-750 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 10 x zoom AA batteries Price is ok $519

Weakness: flash is too close to lense' resulting in red eye when I take pictures of grandson.

The jury is still out. I have five days to decide if I want to return to dealer. Should I keep and get a Oly Flash for big $$$? or should I wait for next generation of cameras?? Olympus tells me I may not be able to use my older Vivitar Flash.

I do have several SLR's

Really would appreciate help with this.

Olympus Camedia C-750 UltraZoom

In the "it's about time" category, I've just posted an update to my earlier full review of the Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom digicam. I've now updated the review based on a full production model of the camera, along with all my standardized test images. All in all, an impressive camera, a definite contender in the long-zoom derby. Check it out!
