Strengths: great pictures, amazing video, awesome zoom, the screen
Weaknesses: battery life, auto focusing, feels small
Summary: love the camera, i've had it for about 2 months and i plan on bringing it on spring break, only hope the batteries don't run out. you can get 2-3 hours of use out of 1 set of rechargeable, so it's always good to keep a spare. the manual is a must or else you will get completely lost. HD video great and also great iso range with decent noise even at iso 1600

Strengths: HD Video - RAW stills in a compact form, ease of use, great lens, pretty good IS.
Weaknesses: Does not make pro type images at ISO 200 or greater.
Summary: I have shot tens of 1000s of stills and video over 40 years, in all formats of film and video as well as digital for the past 8 years, I spent 30 years in broadcast TV.

Getting my mind wrapped around shooting with this type of camera form has been the biggest hurdle for me. I had to put my SLR and video cameras away for the past 8 months so that I could get my head and body retrained to use this camera. It's different, you can't just reach out and rack focus or change fstops or shutter speed like an SLR so I decided to retrain my brain to actually use this camera form as instinctively as I used an SLR.

The camera itself takes very good pictures for the invested price and really offers advantages of smaller form, lighter weight, massive storage capabilities as well as RAW and HD video.

In real life use, as a wildlife photographer, I feel a little funny standing right next to other wildlife photographers with D7s and huge lenses getting almost identical images with this really small camera. Living in South Florida I get a lot of experience showing off my images in those circles. OH yea, makes great HDRi too.

Here is a photoshow with combined stills and video. Obviously this isn't full HD.
