The Canon PowerShot SX200 IS is a very capable and compact ultra zoom camera. It offers very good photo quality, a 28 - 336 mm lens, a nice combination of automatic and manual controls, a large LCD, and a HD movie mode. Why did Canon leave out it's best features
Strengths: Wide angle, good movie mode
Weakness: Noise, fringing, lack of AA batteries, lack of tilt/swivel LCD, can't zoom while in movie mode
The problem with all compact cameres is noise. Did Canon enlarge the sensor to reduce noise? NO. The benefit of generic AA batteries is that you can easily / cheaply buy more when your's run low. Did Canon continue this feature? NO. Canon makes an xlnt tilt/swivel LCD, lets you take pictures around corners, from over the heads of a crowd in front of you & from under things blocking eye level views. Did they include this feature? NO! Canon; why only make "fairly good" cameras when you could make great cameras???
