Nice Camera

Strengths: Middle of the road...size wise..but gets the job done.

Weakness: zoom button...small.

Very nice camera...Middle of the road size wise but gets the job done...zoom button a little difficult to manipulate...but other than that no complaints here. Cant wait to try it out on Alaska trip :-) Check out my FB pics...more current ones of course. Let me know what you think.

DCRP Review: Canon PowerShot G11

Canon did something very unusual in the world of consumer electronics: instead of raising the resolution on their newest camera, the PowerShot G11, they actually went in the other direction -- by nearly 5 million pixels. While less-informed shoppers may be put off by the fact that the best Canon compact is "only" 10 Megapixel, the truth is that the resolution is more than enough for almost...

Canon PowerShot G11 Review

Giving ear to your most ardent supporters is always a good idea when planning new products, and that's just what Canon did with the Canon PowerShot G11. That change in focus brought back the articulating LCD that was sorely missed by many G-series fans. Canon also took a bold step and reduced the resolution from 14-megapixels to 10, all in an effort to make the Canon G11 a better low-light camera...

Camera Labs – Canon PowerShot G11 review

The PowerShot G11 essentially takes the earlier G10, adds a handful of new features and reinstates some from earlier classics. In the former camp, the G11 now features scene detection, new Low Light and Quick Shot modes, along with an HDMI port, while in the latter category we can finally welcome back a flip-out screen, not seen since the G6 back in 2004. The headline feature though is its low...

Canon PowerShot G11 Review

Weve already noted that Canon boldly scaled back sensor resolution in the latest installment of their point and shoot flagship G series, the PowerShot G11. Did Canon get their math right? After a few weeks of shooting and testing the G11 on the road, we think so. Improved low-light performance and excellent image quality added up to a DCR Editors Choice for the PowerShot G11.

Canon PowerShot G11 Review

The PowerShot G11 is the latest version of Canon's compact camera range for prosumers and professionals, offering a DSLR experience in a pocketable body. Interestingly Canon have reduced the number of megapixels on the G11 in a bid to improve image quality at higher ISO speeds, and they've responded to customer feedback by re-introducing the vari-angle LCD that was missing on the previous G10...

Canon PowerShot G11

THE GOOD: Optical viewfinder; articulated LCD; very good photo quality for its class. THE BAD: Shot-to-shot performance still a little sluggish; no HD video. THE BOTTOM LINE: Though it doesnt offer the whizziest new features like an interchangeable lens or a tiny size, the Canon PowerShot G11 still delivers a good shooting experience for photography enthusiasts. Plus its the only model that...
