Fine point and shooter
Strengths: Small camera with 8x optical zoom, HD recording
Weakness: too many settings, terrible software
This camera has one of the largest optical zooms compared to other cameras its size. It's small, light weight and it shoots video in HD.
My only complaints are that there are so many photo settings, I have a hard time figuring out if I'm in the right one to get the best shot. For example, does there really need to be 3 different setting for candle lighting?
And don't get me started about the software. It sucks. I recommend pulling the memory card out and using your computer's picture viewer - I find iPhoto works great.
I've really enjoyed the face recognition feature in the camera, but I really wish they could design a program that could recognize faces on pets as well.
