Fujifilm FinePix Z1 5.1 Megapixel Compact Camera -...

Strengths: quick startup, looks, screen, quality, battery length

Weakness: like all fuji, sometimes there is a delay when you change the flash mode

I've had the A303 and two A310's by fuji, and honestly hated them both. When my last A310 died, I was concidering going to a different brand, but concidering that I have a 1gb memory card for only Fuji, I decided that it would be much more expensive to switch. So I started looking at the cameras and immediatly fell in love with the Z1. it's gorgeous, and the pictures are wonderful. I dont have to photoshop my images to make them brighter or more contrasted anymore. It's well built, excellently arranged, and wonderful to just hold and look at. I actually had no problem getting used to the lack of viewfinder. I got it for about 220, and I truely recommend this camera.

Fujifilm FinePix Z1 Black

Strengths: Fast start up, stylish and scratch-resistent 2.5" LCD screen

Weakness: Get the Z5.

I'll try to keep this short. I ended up giving the Z1 (purchased for over $300 at the time, yes I know, dumb of me) to my mom and bought the Z2. Z2 is much better because its ALL black and not black front/silver back. IMHO, the Z2 is better than the Z3 because the slider sits flush rather than bulges out which can cause it to slide open more. Now that the Z5 is out, get that because it has all the features of the Z3 + 6.3 MP. But really, who needs a digital camera that is over 6MP? Better off getting a DSLR...Now the Z3 is being sold for about $175 off Newegg which is a steal because I purchased my Z2 for $289 shipped 3 day, ouch.

Fuji Finepix Z1 Close to Perfect

Strengths: Screen size & clarity, can fit in any pocket, intuitive controls, trimming feature, quick start-up, long battery life between charges.

Weakness: Worthless 16mb xD card bundled with camera

I looked at several cameras and narrowed it to the Fuji Z1 and the Casio Exilim. The Fuji Z1 wins hands down. Picture quality is very good; try the natural light function for some great dusk/dawn/low light pictures. The camera can hold a charge for a long time so you don't have to wonder where the nearest outlet is. There are some good deals out there; don't pay more than $250 for the camera and $75 for a 1GB xD memory card.

Fuji Finepix Z1 Delivers!

Strengths: Fast power on, easy to use, intuitive set up, easy set up, video capable as well as good still photos, Pocket size!

Weakness: TINY 16MB XD card provided, so you need to buy more memory to take more than 15 or so pictures, people with BIG fingers might have trouble using the controls

This pocket size 5.1 MP camera easily fits into a shirt pocket and allows inexperienced people to take good pictures as well as short video clips. I got it for my father who had wanted a good quality digital camera that was easy to use. I had to buy a 256 MB XD card so he could take some pictures and after about 15 minutes he felt comfortable with it. It has a large 2.5 inch view screen so he could easily see his subject. It downloads quickly using (an extra purchase) XD card reader. My wife likes the camera, so I might have to buy an extra camera for us!

I love love this camera.
It is my first digital camera and it is so simple to use.
Very sexy !!! It fits comfortably in my pocket.
As soon as you slide it open, it is immediatley ready to shoot.
Great buy for the money ...and for first time photographers like myself.
It can take 122 email quality pictures at any one time with out buying an extra memory card. I think they look fantastic. It comes with a cradle to recharge (don't have to remove battery).
Lastly, downloading pictures to your computer is fast and easy.

Fuji Finepix Z1

Strengths: Great Size, Light Weight, and 2.5 inch LCD Screen.

Weakness: The camera must be hooked up to the Dock to Recharge or Connect to a Computer. XD Memory is expensive.

The Z1 fits nicely in my shirt pocket and pants pocket. I was satisfied with the picture quality and startup time. The Z1 comes with 16Mb of Memory but that only holds at most 15 pictures. The 2.5 inch LCD screen is great. Overall, a great camera to own.

Finepix Z1 Digital Camera

Strengths: small-fits in pocket takes great pictures has a large viewing screen

Weakness: none

Picked out this camera after looking into others. This one was small enough to fit into my pocket and had a big enough screen that I wouldn't go blind trying to check out my pictures. I seemed a little pricier than some of the others, but it was worth it.

I am very happy with this camera

Strengths: very stylish easy to use havent had any quality problems flash is good for its size price is reasonable

Weakness: not packed with features Needs to be docked to charge and transfer pics

I was looking to buy a very small portable camera for my trip to Las Vegas. I researched for about a month before I went and purchased te Fuji Z1. Of course first I looked at the new Sony T7 and T33 models. The Size was good and I have not had a problem with Sony products in the passed so I definately considered them as options. That all changed once I started reading reviews. I am a night person for sure and I need something that will take good indoor pictures. All the reviews gave the Sony cameras bad marks in that area. They also pointed out the design flaw of having the flash too close to the lense. Add to that the price of the Sony's and I quickly started looking for other options. I then considered the Nikon ultra compact. It looked good in all aspects except the style wasn't so impressive and my biggest gripe was that it recorded movies in quicktime. I hate quicktime. Then Finally I found this wonderfull Fuji camera. It is just as stylish, maybe a little more so then the Sony's and it does not suffer from the same problems as the Sony's. It takes better indoor shots, and its battery life is much better. The camera actualy lasted for over 3 days without a recharge. Now I am not sure if I am allowed to say how much I paid and from where so I will just say that I was able to purchase this camera and a 1 gig xD card for around $420 shipped. The Sony camera alone would have cost me that much.

Bottomline - Its different from the Sony's that everyone has and it is even more stylish in my opinion. You will love the size of it and the ease of use. The cost is very reasonable when compared with its competitors.

Be sure what you are looking for!

Strengths: It Has a big LCD Screen. Very light and small easy to handle. Nice if you want to travel light. Fairly good software. Can be used as storage device.

Weakness: Picture Quality is very dissapointing. A bit bigger 2MP canon that i had takes better pictures.

If you are looking for something small, light and compact and 4x6 "relatively good" pictures is not a bad choice.Dissapointed at picture quality. I read this on a review but didnt pay attention now I reget it. This problem is a bit typical for small cameras but iam not that sure. Another probably unrelated problem is that after a month I had to send it to the factory because of a problem with the photography chip. I hope this helps!

Fujifilm FinePix Z1

The Fujifilm FinePix Z1 has a compact and handsome metal body with a 3X zoom lens that doesn’t protrude, thanks to the use of folded optics. Blended into the back is a massive 2.5-inch LCD monitor that sports nice brightness and color, which is good because there’s no optical viewfinder. The Z1’s controls are relatively easy to use, but lack some of the manual features that some may demand....

Fujifilm FinePix Z1 Digital Camera Review

The FinePix Z1 is Fujifilm's impressive entry into the sleek, aesthetically-driven region of the digital camera market. At 3.5 x 2.2 x 0.7 inches and 5.3 ounces with battery and xD-Picture Card, the camera condenses into a small, easily portable package at the expense of control spacing and handling. The compact design houses 5.1 megapixels of resolution and a 3x zoom lens, both pretty common...

Fujifilm FinePix Z1

Not only is the Fujifilm FinePix Z1 handsome and nice to hold, its color is very good, its resolution excellent, and noise levels at low ISOs are very low as well. It offers good low light performance when compared against the other compact and subcompact digital cameras with which it competes. Photo quality is generally good, but it does tend to oversaturate reds, and other colors come out a bit...
