Great in decent light. Good for action shooters.

Strengths: super fast burst mode, in camera panorama stitching, HDR mode, build quality, very good image quality at low ISO's.

Weakness: Image stabilization is not as good as some rival companies' compact superzooms. Limited size image on slow motion video. Can't use zoom in panorama mode.

I have had this camera for about 10 days. I really like it. I sold a Panasonic ZS7, a very good camera, because I am interested in sports photography on a tight budget, and Casio makes some very decent fast burst mode cameras (F1, FH20, FH25, FH100). I had the FH20 for about 1 1/2 years and was dazzled by its performance. The ZR100 has a lot less zoom than the FH20, but its still image quality is better, in my view. It is much better from ISO 400 up. I do miss the view finder. I do wish I could use a fine (not normal) quality setting for images taken in burst mode, which I could do with the FH20. However, this camera has features that the FH20 lacked: panorama mode, and HDR mode. In the latter, the camera takes consecutive pictures very, very qulckly and then merges them. It's like in camera bracketing on steroids. In my view, the dynamic range of the resulting pictures is very impressive, better than that of my old Fuji F70exr even in extended DR mode. My Pentax K-x has an HDR mode, too, However, you have to use a tripod because the slightest movement of the camera results in blurred images. I wish Casio had left the 120FPS iimages in video mode at 640 X 480,like they are in the FH100. I think the new processors could handle it. I wish you zoom at least a little in panorama mode. However, this is a very good camera and I am enjoying the heck out of it.

Casio Exilim ZR100 Pocket Zoom Review

Really, there?s nothing close to the Casio ZR100 except other Casio cameras. Where it really tells though, is in the uses Casio has put the high speed processing to and here the HDR, anti-shake, low light, panorama and pet capture modes are all huge fun and work amazingly well. Yes, the handling could be better and it?s tiresome to have lots of photographic features hidden in menus, but the ZR100...

The Casio Exilim EX-ZR100 is a mid-cost...

The Casio Exilim EX-ZR100 is a mid-cost digital camera, a flagship offering. Casio promotes the EX-ZR100 as offering more features than you might expect from such a small design. The Exilim Engine HS (with dual core processors) allows for high-speed shooting (.37 second shot-to-shot time, thanks to its continuous shutter feature), as well as high-speed image processing. This engine is also...
