Pentax Optio 33L

Strengths: Quality, versatility, general feel, macro quality,

Weakness: No view-finder (only sometimes)

Since I baught it in 2003, I'm pushing 10,000+ pictures and I love every one I took. I have two L-Ion recharge batteries along with three 1GB CF cards. I love the campatiability of the cards with my desktop & Notebook computers. I use PaintShop Pro 9 to process all the picts and with fantastic results. The camera is set at higest resolution and lowest compression - always. It has more than met my expectations under all photo - conditions.
My next purchase would be as close to the Optio 33L as I can find but with a 7MP+ and a 8-12X zoom.

Pentax Optio 33L 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Picture quality, small size, screen won't damage in the pocket, CF storage, 2 AA batteries, cheap, light, beautiful choice for my needs (non professional, casual pictures taking)

Weakness: no sound in movies, but not a big deal

I bought canon A70 first and used it for about 3 weeks. It was expensive I paid $318 at walmart, heavy (using 4 batteries), so I brought it back and bought optio 33L from Ebay about twice as cheap. I printed some of 4X6 pictures and quality is very good, much better than than my old film camera pictures. I am not comparing quality of canon a70 and pentax optio 33L, just telling that optio 33L completely satisfied my needs for digital camera

Pentax Optio 33L 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Picture quality, features (3D, Panorama, color & B&W filters plus manual settings for camera pros)

Weakness: power consumption - if using regular AA batteries rather than lithium ion, the cells run out of juice fast

fantastic camera - we took it for our honeymoon to Europe as well as the 35 mm camera. In two weeks, I did not take out the 35 mm camera even once! some 600 pictures later (on 256 MB CF) I love it even more - a GREAT BUY

Pentax Optio 33L 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Excellent picture quality. Packed with many functions which are very easy to use. Even takes video in MPEG format depending on the size of memory card used. A great point and click camera.

Weakness: The one thing that lets this camera down is the size of the viewing screen. It is minute and impossible to see in bright sunlight. I ended up pointing it and hoping for the best.

I have owned this camera for about 4 months now, I have taken some great pictures with it. With a larger viewing screen, it would be difficult to beat for the price.

Pentax Optio 33L 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: The quality of the picture man! unbelieveable! I compared its pictures with another 5.1 MP digital camera, and it is far far better.

Weakness: nothing I can think of, except the 16MB memory in the box is too small,. I would recommand 256MB memory which will alway leave you with plenty of spare room.

I would suggest it is an ideal digital camera for first time digital camera owners, at the same time it is a very very good value for money. picture quality is unbelieveable I may recommand to any one really.

I have been using this camera for 2 years now and have nothing but rave reviews. Everything is wonderful especially the rotating LCD monitor.

Pentax Optio 33L

It offers novices room to grow without upgrading straight away, quite rare in today's digicam market.

Pentax Optio33L

The Optio 33L is the latest in a series of compact, feature-packed digicams from Pentax. It offers good-looking images (albeit not up to the quality levels of Pentax' higher-end models) and an unusual range of features for an entry-level model, including contrast and color saturation adjustment, as well as a cool "3D" mode that makes it easy to capture "stereo pairs" of images. Check it out!
