jgtrentStrengths: Nice grip-hold for sturdy picture taking. LCD screen is a good size. Easy to use functions. Camera body is perfect size-not too big or small. Takes great pictures. Weakness: The joystick feature is nice but can be difficult to use because of the size of the button. This is our first digital camera and we are very pleased with our purchase. If we had to do it again we would still purchase the Z730. It is very user friendly and takes great pictures on the auto setting. With 5.0 megapixels you get great looking pictures even at a very close setting. I also like the variety of scene settings it has to offer. You can take this camera out of the box, charge up the battery, and start taking pictures right away! 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Z730- Good combination camera for beginner and...Strengths: Good quality lens and large LCD for viewing photos. Many adjustments to change settings or just go with the defaults. Weakness: a wee bit small in my hands. batteries dont seem to last as long as they should. Good quality lens. I picked this model as having a good set of features and optics for a mid-level camera. Set aside a few hours to learn the settings and adjustments and take a variety of practice shots so you'll be ready in the field. keep extra batteries charged and ready to go. recommend using the matching dock 3 to do picture transfers and viewing as this seems to kill batteries quickly. It powers the camera directly. Good website for support. Kodak is still in the game. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

May 2, 2006 This is a very nice camera. The first thing I did was buy a 1Gb memory card and an upgrade battery. The new battery will let you take up to 210 pictures. I love this camera and have had very good luck with it. With the 1Gb memory card and the internal 32Mg you can take about 220 pictures. I love this camera great buy.

What a Great Buy!!!!!Strengths: Well priced, Quality lens, PASM controls, Large LCD, Weakness: size, build, date reseting upon battery switch, I'm glad that I have came upon this Kodak Z730 on great offer in a PC fair and it has fulfilled my requirement of a valued proconsumer digcam in supporting my Nikon 5700. It's handy Auto mode was intuitive with both multiple and spot meterings. I was in need of it's optical viewfinder, 4X zoom, 5MP, low shutter lags, litium battery and it's effective 1/2.5" CCD for energy saving usage. As bonus, it came in with movie recording with sound and that famous Kodak colour saturation performance! With auto to manual controls, this Kodak was meant to be used in the enjoyment of shooting photos from day or night and in all time! 100% of readers found this review helpful. Great Choice!Strengths: Menu system is very intuitive, directions are straight forward, picture quality is excellent. Weakness: Turning on the camera is a bit screwy; the button is tiny and you can easily hit the joystick instead. I purchased the Kodak Z730 to replace my Canon PowerShot A40 which had been lost, and so far I'm very pleased with the purchase. The built in memory is a nice feature, and I actually enjoyed reading the manual. The 4 MP beats the heck out of my 2 MP Canon, and you know you've taken a picture because of the shutter sound effect. So far I'm not regretting my decision to purchase a Kodak rather than another Canon. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great CameraStrengths: Many settings to choose from. Easy to use. Weakness: Can't think of any really... I have been using this camera since Christmas 2005. From taking pictures of family and friends enjoying time on the beach to taking pictures of nature, this one is a great pick. I like using the video mode as well. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Kodak EasyShare Z730 5 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Pictures are great!!!!! They are crisp, clear, and color is right on. Weakness: Uploading to share is a bit slow, but still worth it. I love this camera! It was my first digital camera and had no prior experence with any other. It was so easy to use, and fun to get to know. The manual is useful and easy to follow, but even I only really needed it to set time and date, which by the way was not hard to do. I highly recommend this for a beginner like me and I am sure there is alot for the experenced as well. Loaded with features I can't wait to discover. 93% of readers found this review helpful. good cameraStrengths: image quality and color appearance Weakness: it's a little bit too big This is a nice camera, it's easy to handle and the image quality is excellent. The color appearance is also very nice. However, the outlook of this camera is not so appealling. By the way, it takes long time between two shots in door if you use flash light. Overall, it is still a good camera. 88% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great CameraStrengths: Great zoom, great screen, easy to navigate around. Weakness: Not great in low light situations This is a very easy camera to use - and is cheap compared with what you get (good zoom, good screen, easy to use interface). You need at least a 512 meg card - which goes faster than you would think. 87% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Nice camera - a purchase I feel good about
Strengths: 4x optical zoom, easy to use, high quality pictures
Weakness: A bit large, but this camera doesn't advertise itself to be ultra-small or anything.
I spent countless hours researching digital cameras on the internet before purchasing this one for my wife for Christmas. She wanted something small enough that she could easily keep it in her purse and I wanted to make sure we would be able to get high quality, large prints if we wanted them. Optical zoom was important to me for that reason... I wanted to be able to zoom in and take a picture, then blow it up and frame it if desired.
Our experience with this camera has been wonderful so far. It is easy to use and intuitive in its design. I love the zoom and noticed that you can even zoom in and look at your pictures close-up after you've taken them. I had heard that you could take a picture of a ceiling fan on high speed and get a clear picture (no blur) with this camera... I tried it and it is true! So we won't have any concerns over blurry pictures from now on.
One word of caution: If you don't buy the EasyShare dock, you have to remove the battery (and lose the date/time set on your camera) to charge it. This isn't a big factor for us because we bought the dock, but it might be for some people. The dock is well worth the additional $40-50 so you can charge the camera and transfer pictures without any complicated wires.
