A great vacation camera

This is one of my favorite cameras, It feels good holding it in your hands. It is a worthy upgrade from a SX10 SX30 SX110 And it takes a picture as good as my S100 - G11 coming from a point and shoot world never using raw,I am sure a advanced user could g

Canon PowerShot SX40 HS

Crutchfield has collected 15 user reviews for this product with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. The most recent reviewer said, "This camera is so easy to use right out of the box,and the quality of the pictures is a huge step up from the Nikon Coolpix L120 I was using previously. The 35 X zoom is amazing, even better if you're using a monopod or tripod. But even without that, I have taken some close up shots that will rival an SLR. I am a "lazy photographer." I simply don't have time or inclination to do everything manually, but I desire "wow" shots. This camera has delivered over and over again. Buy it!"

Canon PowerShot SX40 HS

THE GOOD: The Canon PowerShot SX40 HS has a flexible lens range, very good image stabilization, excellent photo quality for its class, and shooting modes for every kind of user. THE BAD: The SX40 HSs shooting performance lags behind that of the competition and has a couple potentially irritating design points. THE BOTTOM LINE: If youre after a wide and long lens and excellent photo quality, the...

DCRP Review: Canon PowerShot SX40 HS

<p>Overall, the Canon PowerShot SX40 HS is a good super zoom camera, but there are better choices out there. In terms of design and features, it's very competitive. Photo quality is a little better than most of the cameras in this class. Where the SX40 lags a bit is in terms of performance, manual controls, and movie mode. The last super zoom camera I reviewed was the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150,...

Canon SX40 HS review at Camera Labs

The Canon SX40 HS sports the same enormous 35x optical range as its predecessor, equivalent to 24-840mm. The major change concerns the sensor with a switch from a 14 Megapixel CCD to a 12 Megapixel CMOS allowing the SX40 HS to support 1080p video and fast continuous shooting, with the added benefit of lower noise too. But how does it compare against rivals from Sony and Panasonic? Find out in my...

Canon PowerShot SX40 HS Review

While Canon's previous megazoom digital camera was a good performer, the PowerShot SX40 HS is a finely tuned upgrade. With the same startling 35x zoom ranging from 24-840mm equivalent, the Canon SX40 sports a new, lower-resolution sensor and a punchy DIGIC 5 processor, resulting in better low light performance and better corner sharpness overall, as well as reduced chromatic aberration. These...
