Fujifilm X10
Strengths: Old-school build quality. Excellent image quality. Big enough to feel comfortable in large hands.
Weakness: Battery life isn't great, so buy a spare. The official leather case, which is a copy of a film camera "eveready" case, is seriously overpriced at $130 US.
Slide-film color accuracy from the standard color setting (Provia film simulation). I wish my Nikon DSLR's had colors this accurate, and had the X10's ability to capture really subtle color tones. Auto WB does an amazing job most of the time, and Auto Dynamic Range is equally good.Pro Low-light mode takes 4 shots at once and combines them into a 6MP JPEG that rivals the output of a really good DX sensor at ISO 1600 and 3200. Jaw-droppingly good for a sensor at the upper end of P&S size range.Having registered my gripe about the cost of the leather case, I will say that I bought one, and love having the main part of it on the X10's body for added grippiness and protection. The drop-down part that covers the camera's top and lens doesn't fit if you have the filter adapter on, so I leave that part at home.

DCRP Review: Fujifilm X10

That said, it has a lengthy list of flaws; some are minor annoyances, while others make you wonder how this camera got through the testing phase. Is it a camera I enjoyed using? Yes, quite a bit. Would I buy it? Probably not, though that's due...
