Strengths: -Can't beat the great value
-Easy to use
-Great quality pictures
-Great price
-Light-weight
-Up to 6.0 million recorded pixels
-Picture Cradle Adapter included is nice
Weaknesses: -Plastic case not as solid as other higher priced cameras
-Included Memory Stick (16MB) only holds a few pics. You will have to buy at least a 64MB or larger
Summary: I have had this camera for a few days and it is a lot better than I expected. It definitely compares to higher priced models with it's included features. The ability to go up to a resolution of 2,816 x 2,120 is great for the price. The pictures are crisp and the included software has enough options for any user. I got mine for $179 and it is worth every penny. I highly recommend this camera if you are looking for a 3MP camera with Optical and Digital zooms for a decent price!

Strengths: compact, light, picture quality, Fuji is one of the best for digital cameras, pretty good w/ battery consumption compared to other digital cameras
Weaknesses: protection for the viewing screen, movie mode but no sound
Summary: After lots of research and asking at different retailers, I decided to go with a Fuji because it ranked at the top with Pentax and Minolta. Specifically, I went for the A310 because it is definitely the best for the money. Already you can buy them for under $200. Also, they use the newest type of picture card.

Strengths: Good pictures, easy to use, good compatibility.
Weaknesses: a little bit slow in start and optical zoom
Summary: It is my first digial camera and I am very suprised of the good quality of the pictures and the ease in use. Even when you are not a photo-pro, you can easily make good and quick pitures... Only weakness: the camera is a little bit slow in starting-up and in moving the optical zoom.

Strengths: 1. Small size and light weight, low price, small memory card, easy to use without having to read owner's manual
Weaknesses: 1. LCD resolution is poor indoors under low light (very grainy)
2. Must use LCD control to switch to action, night, landscape, or portrait mode even though a dial exist on the camera face control
Summary: 2003-12-16 12:22:41 The size, weight, and price of this camera is key plus for all first time digital camera buyers. From what I see on my computer, the picture color and sharpness are very good. I haven't made any prints yet. Would love to hear from others who have.
There are some drawbacks to this camera:
1. It has a base ISO of 200. Most point and shoot are ISO 100 (the A303 is ISO 100). Reviews have indicated that this ISO creates more noise in your picture if you plan to crop pictures or print 8x10 shots. You may not notice it at 4x6" prints.
2. The LCD resolution is poor under low light. It is very grainy when I used it indoors under low light conditions.
3. Flash recharge is a bit slow. 3 seconds on average.
4. XD cards are relatively new, therefore, they are a bit more expensive than SD or Flash. Also, there are very vew card reader/writers out there on the market right now. You have to pay close to $50 for one on line when compared to a flash card reader/writer at about $15-20. Most multi-card reader/writers do not include XD card as a choice slot.
5. Dial on camera face suggest you can get to landscape, action, night, and portrait mode just by rotating the dial. This is not so!!! I think it was a production defect by Fuji. You have to get to those photo modes via the LCD which is kind of troublesome.
Overall, its an easy camera to use for the price you pay for a 3.1 Mpix.

Strengths: Lightweight, compact, easy to use even if you have never used a digital camera, great quality pictures, excellent value for the price
Weaknesses: xd memory card is so new that it does not fit into slots for media currently on most computers and printers
Summary: I did a lot of research before purchasing this camera for quality, features and price value. This camera provides absolutely the best value for the money. It has all the features of cameras costing much more. Even though I am a novice in digital photography, I found this camera extremely easy to use. The quality of the pictures is also excellent. Some complain that the camera case is plastic. Even though this is true the camera does not feel cheap or tinny in the hand, and it is lightweight which is a plus. The xd media card is such new technology that it does not fit in the slots in my computer even thought my computer is brand new. You can purchase an adapter, but it costs about $50. I chose to just plug the camera into the computer using the usb port which is easy enough. Even though the camera does not come with rechargeable batteries, with normal use the aa alkailine batteries last a long time. If you chose to purchase recgargeable batteries for this camera it is still the best value around. I would buy this camera again in a heartbeat

Strengths: Easy to use, Compact. Good camera for people who know very little about digital cameras.
Weaknesses: Small viewfinder. Camera is made in China.
Summary: This is my second digital camera and the first one I figured out how to use. I think it is a good camera for the money and it seems easy to use. I would recommend this unit.

Strengths: Outstanding photo quality and highest technology in this price range! Easy to use, compact, light weight, and inexpensive.
Weaknesses: Included XD card too small and XD technology requires the purchase a new card reader. LCD dim and grainy in low light conditions.
Summary: After much research and prior ownership of a Finepix A201, this Fuji gives you the best digital picture quality for the money. Optical zoom with 3 Megapix with 6 Megapix recorded through Super CCD technology at less than $200 cannot be beat. A larger XD card needs to be purchased as well as a newer card reader which adds to the overall package price. Even so, the total package came in under $260 delivered which is awesome for the quality of the pictures. I have recommended to friends and family and would buy again in a heartbeat.

Strengths: Easy to use, long battier life, TV video output, good picture color, great camera for the price.
Weaknesses: The auto focus can be a little picky on what it want's to focus on.
Summary: Previous to the A310, I owned a Fuji Finepix 1300 1.3MP camera with no optical zoom. For what it was it took great pictures. That is why I mainly looked at the Fuji line when I decided to upgrade.
I have been very happy with the performance and quality of the A310. It has good picture colors, like the 1300, as well as many new feature including 3x optical zoom, 3.1MP and 6MP picture setting, and video output (so you can do a slide show on your TV). It only uses 2 AA batteries and operates much longer than my 1300 does with it's 4 AA batteries.
The only minor issue I have had with it is the auto focus can have a hard time focusing on subjects that are far away ex-specially in lower lighting. So I have to move closer to the subject instead of using the optical zoom in some instances.
Overall I am very happy with the FinePix A310.

Strengths: 6 MP, Great Pictures, easy to use, great price, many options, ISO 100 thru 800
Weaknesses: Sometimes up to 2 sec shutter delay, included XD Picture card too small
Summary: This is by far the best digital camara for the price. Able to take 6 MegaPixels pictures and costs just less than $200. Must buy a larger XD picture card as the 16 MB card included holds max ten pictures at 6 MP resolution. Also doesn't eat thru the batteries like others I have heard of, but I still recommend buying rechargeable NiMH batteries. The 5X7 prints we have made are fantastic. If you are looking for a digital camara but don't want to pay too much, you can't beat this one.

Strengths: Price/Quality ratio, portable, great pics, battery life, and easy to use
Weaknesses: plastic casing, included 16mb card, xd cards more expensive
Summary: This is a great camera for the price. The 3x zoom is about avg on most cameras. The pictures turn out great, but the 16MB XD card only holds a few at max resolution. Overall, awesome camera and I highly recommend it.

Strengths: easy to use. sharp fotos. great night shots
Weaknesses: a little heavy, don't like the placement of the zoom toggle
Summary: This seems to be a great camera. I researched for 2 weeks and for the money you can't beat it. I wanted to stay around $200 for a 3MP and this came in at $202. It has more manual options than comparable Kodak and Canon cameras. I do suggest rechargable batteries and a larger xD card, at 3MP you only get 19 pics on a 16meg card.

Strengths: Features, size, weight, price. Simplicity of use, I have a nikon 4500 also which is very complex to use/find features hidden in the menus. This camera is much easier to use.
Weaknesses: Software included could be easier and more powerful for editing. I use another program for editing/printing.
Summary: I am the type of person that investigates any purchase thoroughly. I chose this camera for ease of use, features, and price. This is my fifth digicam and one of my favorites. I tried out many at local camera shops, but chose to buy online and save myself $75 on a $200 camera, not bad. The buying experiance was a joy also. I ordered it online Sunday evening in about 5 minutes, and received the digicam Tuesday morning.

Strengths: Ease of use, Features
Weaknesses: Eats battery, picture quality
Summary: About a month ago, I wanted to buy a digital camera but I didn't know which brand is the best one and which one best fits my needs. So I asked about it from every single person I met!!! Finnaly I was recommended to take a look at PCWorld.com.
After a few days I decided to buy the cheap "Cannon Powershot A70". It was good and had good features! But when I went for it, I was suprised at the price! Because I live in Iran and everything here is so expensive! it was about 300$!
So I gave up. And went to a store that only sold Fuji brand cameras. I asked them and decided to buy a FinePix A303. But when I saw the A310, I loved it. The great thing is that I heard the store I went to would give another xD Picture card with 64 MB Memory plus the orignal 16 MB for FREE only if you buy A310!
So I bought it! The picture quality is excellent sometimes by chance!!! I don't know exactly how to configure it! It was about 200$ only...
about the features; it has good features the fast shutter, too many flash modes,
autofocus function. But if you want to take a picture you should first lock the focus the take the photo. I think that the camera is excellent if you IGNORE the batteries! It eats batteries and you can't use Ni-Cd batteries!!! Only Alkaline or Nickle Metal Hydride!!! And it uses more battery when you connect it to PC.

I am not very pleased with it, I didn't like the c ...
Strengths: small, reduced power consumption, optical zoom
Weaknesses: noisy pictures, grainy LCD on the back, no manual focus
Summary: I am not very pleased with it, I didn't like the colors very much. I also disliked the long exposure times while using 'no flash' or 'Slow flash' which result in blurred fotos.
