Strengths: Easy to use,look nice and the pictures are greate

Weakness: I hard to see through the screen in semy dark rooms and the lite in the the view finder is a pain.

I have no problem with the weaknesses the reason is because is not hard to overcome. The screen I like using the view finder better and for the lite that kodak put there that is so britte I put a small piece of gray paper with a piece of clear tape that covers the lite but does not blocks it. If you did it write like i did you can not really tell that it is there .I have not had one person ask me about it and i know is because they did not see it so if your are thinking of getting this camera get it. I love mine...

Strengths: Nice zoom, great picture quality, easy to use, reasonably priced, nice looking camera

Weakness: Dock doesn't come standard with package (although it's not required)

I originally bought this camera off an ebay auction that was listed as a functional "return item." The camera actually worked fine, but looked like it had been thrown out the window of a fast moving vehicle onto a highway. Even with that, I was tempted to keep the camera just because of how nice the pictures it took were. I ended up finding the exact same camera online for only $20 more factory refurbished and went ahead and got it and returned the other one. I've only had it for a week and haven't been the least bit disappointed.

A Kodak-refurb is probably better than alot of other brands' brand new cameras. The picture quality is great and I really like the optical zoom. The viewfinder is accurate as well, which is important since you can turn off the LCD screen for viewfinding and save LOTS of battery life. Not all cameras will allow you to turn off the LCD screen, and some of the camera's I've used in the past had viewfinders that weren't in sync with the camera itself and the pictures would never be the same as the viewfinder (heads chopped off and such).

I got a 512MB SD card for around $30 online after a rebate and the card will hold well over 300 pictures. The easyshare dock typically doesn't come with the camera but it's optional. I don't use the easyshare software anyway, and I just use a card reader for my SD card and it works great. You can also use the included USB cable to tranfer the data off the SD card or the internal memory.

There are cheaper 5MP cameras out there, but this one is very reasonably priced and probably one of the best bangs for your buck.

Strengths: Ease of use, auto rotate to position picture was taken (do not have to rotate pictures on PC for viewing). Excellent quality pictures. Very fast picture to picture time.

Weakness: Lenses cap instead of automatic cover. Not a biggie, but about the only thing I do not like about the camera.

This is an excellent camera. My wife and I have both been very happy with it. We take a LOT of pictures, so not having to rotate pix on the computer after downloading is a big thing for me. To my knowledge, Kodak is the only company with this feature. If this is incorrect, please forgive me. Battery life (Lithium Ion batteries) is very good. We probably take about 200 pictures per set of batteries. Can use the CRV3 battery pack, but you get equal performance from AA LiIons. One thing not offered on this camera that is offered on lower model Kodaks is the ability to do B&W and sepia right on the camera. The Microsoft Picture It (lite) software that comes with the camera will do this, however if you want to take directly from camera to store for developing, this could be a down side.

All in all, we love this camera and would highly recommend to anyone.

Strengths: High MP for a low price. Unlike my Nikon, which by the time one accesses the menus, the shot is gone, this camera has an easy to use dial to switch from Video, to Auto,sports etc.

Weakness: Longer optical zoom would be a big plus! Limited manual settings, you can set the exposure compensation and long-time exposure. No light for movie mode. Dock not compatible with newer K cameras.

A plus, one can buy different lenses and the prices seem reasonable.
One can view pictures on a tv, although I don't think one can copy to a VCR tape.
Secondly, one can use different batteries, including Lithium AA!
Right out of the box, I was ready to take pictures. Another plus, the user's guide has an index!
One of the reviewers mentioned that they did not receive a battery charger or accessories. I paid $200 at Sam's Club. The package included the non-rechargeable battery and the EasyShare Dock w/rechargeable battery, as described below.
First, I already own cameras with more advanced features. I bought this camera because it had good reviews, Kodak's customer service, simplicity, and the price! I was not really worried about too many settings. Controls are large and easy to read & see.
Some people complained about the lense cap, at least the strap attaches to the loop on the side of the camera which is a plus! It was a little hard to thread; although I had no problem threading the camera strap. A safety pin will assist you in threading the lense cap strap.
Actually,in my experience, a camera not having a built-in lense cover is one less thing to break!
It has an orientation setting which is a nice plus. Other features are long-time exposure, picture quality selection, auto image storage, date stamp, and some settings in the "set-up menu" such as print quantity, shutter sound, quickview, liveview, NTSC or PAL, language, and format, The camera also has a timer! There is also a tripod socket.
I also noticed that there is flash available for modes that are usually not available on other cameras, such as landscape (default is off).
Explanation of modes are on the screen. The preview screen is also a nice size! There are also icons at the top of the preview screen that show your settings such as quality, redeye, etc.
The menus are uncomplicated, the dial has most of the features that one needs to access including movie, auto mode, landscape, sports, macro, etc. I have seen some cameras that had the mode dial, but one had to search for the power button!
People note that the "internal storage" is not enough. Acutally, I think 32mb is very generous. Kodak informed me that I could use a 512 card although it was not listed in the manual.
I bought my camera from my warehouse club for $200 with the dock. (It will be on sale Friday at Walmart for $198, but I do not recall if that includes the dock.)
A big plus is the ability to shoot a movie only limited by the card/memory size. I took a movie of my bird, and it is crystal clear. My Nikon 4500 has a movie mode, but the same movie would have been much darker in the same lighting, The movie mode on the Nikon is limited (I can't remember the exact length of time)! It would be nice if one could get a lighting accessory when one wants to take movies in low-light conditions. By the way, one can adjust the volume using the same 4-way button one uses to scroll through the pics.
I called and e-mailed Kodak before and after the sale. The e-mails were answered quickly, and I did not wait long to talk to a technician; they do not sell cameras directly.
Their sales people were very informative! I was even informed to wait for a universal printer dock for all of their Easy Share cameras.
I registered my camera on-line and received an extra month warranty for free, plus the backing of my warehouse club's generous return policy and customer satisfaction. I'll probably buy their extended warranty, too.
I have not installed the software because my PC will be going to the repair shop. I have since installed the software. Unlike my HP2510's software, I only had to install it once. Although I found out that it started up with my computer, so I had to disable it in msconfig. I dislike software that boots up with one's pc w/o asking!
However, I will be printing out pictures on my 2510 at high quality w/o any enhancements.
How many docks does Kodak want us to purchase? My 7630 was not packaged with a dock, but I cannot use it with the 4530. A universal dock (& printer/charger) would be great. HP photo printers can be used with any camera. The Kodak charger/printers are not compatible with other camera lines, including some of Kodak's own cameras!
If this camera had added some of these features: a universal dock, a longer optical zoom, ability to copy to VCR tape, image stabilization, battery saver (oops it does have a battery saver!), the ability to store modes, more manual selections, panaromic mode (although I have software that can accomplish the same), it would be a 5.
(Still waiting for the so-called "universal dock.")

Strengths: Very easy to use. Good battery life. Great quality pictures.

Weakness: Could have more focal length without need for additional accessory lens. Extra purchase order for telephoto lens from which pictures will be round. Other that that, I am very pleased with this camera.

This camera has powerful features. The picture quality is great. The software is easy to use. I have taken over 300 pictures with it, and the batteries are still doing fine. The price is great for such quality.

Strengths: This is one of the best digital Cameras I have ever owned. You can go from pictures to video and back again. The pictures are awesome!

Weakness: From a Kodak camera? Thats funny.

Get the docking port for battery charging and also get an extra memory card or to. The 128M card can hold 81 High res photos.

Weakness: lens cap is a little awkward, but you forget that as soon as you get into using the camera...

Great camera for a great price. Recommend this camera to anyone who wants to start using digital cameras. Right from the box the camera is easy to set up and use. With an additonal 128 MB or 256 MB SD card, this camera rocks.

Strengths: Very easy to use. I took it out of the box and was taking pictures in minutes. Excellent picture quality.

Weakness: I don't like the lens cover but other than that its great.

This is my first digital camera and I am very impressed with how easy it is to use and the quality of the pictures. I purchased it at Sam's Club bundled with the camera dock for $338. It was well worth the money. The dock makes it very simple to transfer the pictures and charge the batteries.

Strengths: takes excellent pictures. Easy to download and easy to share

Weakness: when taking low light pictures you can't see in the view screen and when you look into the eye piece the focus light is right there and it blinds you from seeing what you are looking at

the camera is very easy to use and very easy to do anything with everything is at your fingertips. the only complaint is in low light picture taking. You can't raise the light on the screen and you can't look threw the view finder because the focus light blinds you and won't focus in the low light the orange light keeps blinking never a steady green light so you are taking your chances getting a good picture. If you are only going to take outside pictures or in bright light then this is the camera for you it is great like that but for a party where they dim the lights then your not going to take pictues that easy. But all in all even taking the pictues without being able to see what you are taking they came out good

Strengths: Easy to use options for setting up the picture and viewing the shot afterwards. Simplicty in menu options for ease of understanding and setting up.

Weakness: 32MB of internal memory doesn't go very far when using the best option. Required purchase of 128MB sd card for more best images and short video captures

This is my second digital camera. The first was an HP and I am very pleased with the new Kodak. I haven't tried the share option but will provide updated inputs as I discover more about the camera. It is worth the $399 I spent.

Strengths: Unbeleivable pictures- no one can beleive they are digital- and I don't even use the best quality setting!!, very easy to use staight out of the box, PRICE -can't beat $300 for a top notch 5 mp camera

Weakness: none- stop yapping about internal memory, all digital cameras are insufficient- but even at midquality- still get 34 pics, which is more than a role of film!! just get a memory card if you need more

Extrordinary Quality and value- pictures will blow you away for alot less than other brands. I was skeptical that Kodak was not up to digital quality- but recommend this camera strongly!! I had an HP (junk), and friends with nikon and sony paid alot more for similar to inferior results... You will be impressed!!

Strengths: I agree on the New Kodak...its really an awsome camera to purchase,if your new or even a pro in photography this camera is highly recommended.

Weakness: Yes the 32mb internal isn't sufficiant but when you get a 128mb card...you'll be very satisfied with the results ;)

This is my second Digital Camera aswell and it happened to be a Kodak too,Im very please in the resolutions and outcome of my shots..I wouldn't recommend any other.The price is worth spending by far :)

Strengths: Easy to use, easy to reveiw pics, very very clear prints better then any 35m ive used,enlarged prints are very good and clear, compact size,Im very excited about this camera.

Weakness: Lens cover / it doesnt have some picture effects on the camera but that can be done with the software.

I would recommend this camera to anyone , I did a lot of research before i bought it, I was leaning towards the sony p-10 but opted for this instead because it was easyer to use and the cheapest 5.0 on the market at this time for what you get in the camera. Ive already snaped some great shots of my family and they look like a pro took them. The quality in enlarged photos are increadabley clear, try some black and white prints as well they are classic looking.If you dont have a digital camera yet you dont know what your missing.I cant wait to take more photos for chrismas season. Hurry go get one of these now you wont be sorry, You can trust the Kodak name, They didnt pay me for this reveiw either.

Strengths: Great camera and features. Built-in memory.

Weakness: Red-eye doesn't seem to work every time. Might just be my inexperience with the camera.

I bought this camera and started using it right out of the box. I am VERY pleased with the camera itself. My only problem is with the EasyShare software that came with it. I installed the software on my desktop running Win2000. Every time I attach my camera, the computer crashes and I get the dreaded blue screen. I installed on my laptop running Win98 and the software works fine. I went to the Kodak website and it says the latest version of the software is 3.2. The version installed from the CD is 3.3. I don;t know if this might be a beta version but I am going to "downgrade" to 3.2. Hope it works??!!

Strengths: This is an excellent camera, very easy to use, and as an upgrade camera from a previous Kodak digital camera, it operates almost the same and can utilize the same docking cradle.

Weakness: Definately the lens cap. Kodak did a better job with their built in len's caps that the previous easyshare cameras had.

This is a great camera. The built in memory is great improvement for when you forget to grab a new memory card. The minimum resolution is 3.0 megapixels which makes this camera very adiquate for 4x6 photos nomatter what the settings. had some exposure problems at first but i believe that was just getting used to the camera. My previous kodak camera lasted about 20,000 photos and i look forward to this doing the same.

Strengths: It's easy to use. Has many modes to take your pictures like auto, sport, night,landscape, close ups, and video.

Weakness: I don't see any. People are complaing about the lens cover, but i dont mind it because internal lens cover can break and those require fixing.

This my first digital camera. I love taking pictures. i even printed some B&W pics in high school. i wasted endless money on disposable cameras and developing pics. then finally my boyfriend decided to get me this camera for xmas. i love it. i carry it everwhere with me, because you never know when a picture moment might come along and with 5.0 mega pixels the pictures will be wonderful. I love it and advice others who want a digital cam to get this one :0)

Strengths: I think this is a great camera. I upgraded from a fugi 3 mgp. Very worth the money paid on this one. I like that it has an internal memory. My last(expensive) camera did not have this.

Weakness: People are complaining about the lens cap, and I agree this is a little annoying. However, I think its because the lens can be changed.(maybe Im wrong) wish the docking station came with the camera.

I bought this off Dell. It was the cheapest 5 mgp camera on there and I would definely purchase it again. The software with this camera is probably not the greatest, But I usually just edit with a seperate photo shop software that is great. If your looking for a high mgp camera at a cheap price this is the camera for you.

Strengths: This camera has lots of cool easy to use features,enough for the pro(?)and for the novice.

Weakness: Alittle more internal memory would have been a plus,but beside that this is an excellent purchase.

I find the camera to be compact,solid not that fragile feeling you get with other camera manufacturers,the pictures are clear,crisp and vivid.Personally if any one wanted to know what i thought of my camera i would have to be biased and truthfull and tell them that next to my kodak 35mm this digital camera far exceeded my expectations.I gave this camera a solid 4 star rating only because the internal memory is lacking,other wise it would have recieved the 5 star.Thank you.

Strengths: Small size, good resolution, sharp pic, exe white balance, movie and the price

Weakness: The location of the USB port.

except the location of the USB port (also I have to pull the cable v hard to pull it out of the camera, I am scared that I'll break something) I feel its great buy. I have used other brand but Kadak has the best white balance. The picture looks abit soft but for the price and the size of the camera I think I can accept it.

Weakness: None really.. just would be nice if it came with different batteries if docking station is not purchase

This is really my 2nd digital camera. Was really surprised with the pictures, and how easy it was to use the camera. Has plenty of settings and for a five meg pix camera the price was great!!!!! Do not see the problem with the lens cover, pops right off. and never has been in the way. If I lose this one I'll be back!

Strengths: Easy to use...tagging favorites for organization..clean crisp photos

Weakness: in order to put pictures on computer you have to plug in cord where the SD card goes into..flimsy cover for it. I am afraid it will break.

I loved this camera so much another family member has purchased it. This is my 3 rd digital camera,second Kodak. I was using it in a matter of minutes. Kodak is a great name and the camera is a pleasure to use...no hassles!! All cameras that I buy and recommend are Kodak!

Strengths: It takes the highest quality pictures of any digital camera I have seen yet.

Weakness: The lens cover is a little annoying, but I learn to deal with it.

This was my first time to use a digital camera, and this one was very easy to use. I was highly impressed when I printed out my first pictures; they were crystal clear and basically flawless. The camera also comes with very good software that allows you to enhance the pictures and change them however you wish. It is also the most reasonable price for 5 megapixals and for a college student on a budget like me. Plus who doesn't trust Kodak?

Strengths: Very user freindly. Software is easy to use and with the enhance feature you can't take a bad picture.

For the price this is a very good camera. The software interface that is suppplied makes it hard to take bad picture. With the camera in the auto mode even the most novice of photogs can take award winning photos.

Strengths: Can't beat the price, best value out there for 5MP w/ 3x Zoom.

Weakness: Build quality, my first one failed after only one day of light use. Battery/memory compartment doors are flimsy.

Overall I'm very satisfied with the camera. Color fidelity is quite good, with only slight image noise visible in darker shots. Ease of use is fantastic, although the lack of fine tuning options may disappoint even amateur users.
The low price is evident in the build of the camera. As mentioned, I had to exchange the first one the day after I bought it. Since my pictures were stored internally (no card is included), I could not get them out once the camera failed. Hence, I would recommend purchasing a memory card w/ this camera. That way, if your camera should experience failure you can at least still get your pictures out...

Strengths: It's so easy to use, my wife who hate all things technical was using it the first day and loving it.

Weakness: Only one I can think of, I wish the lens had an auto cover as a posed to the snap on cover. I hate things dangling around

This is our first digital camera and we love it the pictures are outstanding quality at 5 Meg it looks like our 35 MM camera and with a 128 card you can snap away all day without any worries and for the $269 I paid I couldn’t be happier.

Strengths: Takes good pictures whereever you shoot.

Weakness: the product being a 5MP cam, the zoom could have been increased.

To reduce the price of the camera ,the manufacturer has cut down the basic components in the package.for example there are no rechargable battries,no carrying case or cover.

conclusion: I whould not suggest you to buy this camera if your hobby is photography.this is a "TOO EASY TO USE" camera. it lacks profesional touch.

Kodak EasyShare DX4530 Zoom

Kodak's EasyShare DX4530 is the latest model in the EasyShare lineup, offering 5 megapixels of resolution and the fabled EasyShare ease of use. Throw in very nice color, and Kodak's amazingly effective automatic white balance processing, and you've got a winner of a camera for the "average" user: High resolution, great color, and great ease of use.
