Fuji A900 Digital Camera

Strengths: Small and compact, easy to use and menus are very good on the LCD display

Weakness: None so far

I have had this camera for a about a week. I ordered it from Digital Foto Discount Club and it arrived in record time. The camera is light weight, uses SD or XD cards and has a 10MB internal memory. Its powered by 2AA batteries. I would suggest using rechargeables. I love it so far. Plan to use it while traveling.

Great camera

Strengths: Compact, Easy to use, Good image quality, Large LCD, Use both SD and XD cards

Weakness: None

The camera A900 from Fuji is very good in quality and compact. It’s less expensive compare with Sony and Canon. The camera uses AA batteries, very convenient to buy from any store. The LCD display is large enough for picture preview. You can use SD card for storing pictures (the SD cards are very cheap now).

Great camera!

Strengths: It is a great camera and a nice size for toting around in my purse. It takes awesome pictures with awesome color! I'm really enjoying this camera

Weakness: It does have its quirks like everything does. I can definitely live with them! The power button is easy to turn on and off when handling the camera. But, not when it's in the case.

I'm also used to having a viewfinder and this one doesn't have one. But overall it is a great little camera and takes great pics! I've only had the camera about a week, but we've had 3 birthday parties, so lots of chances to use it!

Not Bad for the Price

Strengths: Small, but not too small (like many compact cameras out there. Numerous picture settings. 9 megapixel for large images. Can use both SD and XD chips.

Weakness: Slightly slow between pictures (noticeable mostly when flash was just used and charging back up). LCD screen is not as clear as other cameras, however it is not indicative of the saved photos.

I previouly owned a Fuji E550 (and still do). We were very happy with outdoor shots, but indoors the flash would drown out the focal point or without the flash the images would be blurry. The A900 is a slight upgrade, mostly in terms of the few extra megapixels. It also has the flash "always on", instead of the E550's pop-up flash.

There are numerous photo settings, so playing around with them to determine the best for each situation is recommended. We were able to get good pictures in most situations, including indoors and outdoors (both in low and high light-level conditions). The ISO speed automatically changes based on the photo style selected, or you can set Auto and the camera will do its best (usually good enough).

The decision by Fuji to allow use of XD and SD chips is smart. This does minimize the impact of switching brands of cameras without worrying about buying new storage chips.

We have used the camera on vacation already, and were very happy with the results. We used both the image and movie modes. Given this camera can be had for less than $200, the strengths certainly outweigh any weeknesses. This is a good novice or moderate user camera for someone who wants to grab the camera, take some good shots and move on. If you are looking for a very advanced camera, look to spend more money. Otherwise, the A900 should suit you well.

Great camera for the price I paid for

Strengths: use AA battery, large LCD, 4X optical zoom, xD & SD compatible, 30 fps video

Weakness: not so compact size, low video resolution (320x240)

I got this camera for < $100 recently and am very please with the image quality of this camera. It is slightly smaller that the other Fujifilm digicam that I had (F650). SD memory card compatibility and AA battery are plus points for this camera - which bring down the cost of adding spare memory card and battery. Multiple scene mode selection made taking photo easier without worrying the outcome.
On the minus side, shutter lag is below average, and the video size is low based on current 'standard'.
Overall, it is a great basic camera, and I can live with the minuses for the price that I paid for.

Sounds like you're talking about an entirely different camera. Could be the one you purchased may have been damaged. I find the A900 to be an excellent point and shoot camera, and I have to say, it's nice to carry a lightweight, capable camera for casual shots instead of lugging my SLR and accessories around. I'd definitely recommend this camera to family and friends.

FinePix A900 Digital Camera

Strengths: small, light and easily carried

Weakness: no view finder

This is an excellent camera for my everyday usage. It has great resolution that can be enlarged as needed. It also allows me to change the resolution so that I can take smaller pictures for computer projection use or larger ones for print use. I would purchase this product again.

FinePix A900

Strengths: screen size

Weakness: It's a bit bulky.

I had the FinePix A345 before this one, and the A900 is a great improvement. First the screen size is significantly bigger, so you can actually see some details on the pictures you just took. And the quality of the pictures seems better. Still, this camera is somewhat thick, or at least not as thin as some other cameras I could have chosen. If this is not an issue for you, then by all means get the A900.
