Fujifilm FinePix S3100 4 Megapixel Bridge CameraStrengths: Nice looking design, wonderful optical zoom, pop up flash. Weakness: XD card, which is very costly I have just started using this camera and I would recommend this. The shots are great especially with 6X zoooooom. The flash works nicely. I have taken few first shots and already fell in love with camera. 4 MP is more than enough for me for my personal photography. I like the design, feels like a rebel in hands. Seems to be relatively cheap as compared to Canons and Olympuses having comparable features (6X optical zoom). 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

How I've partly overcome the low light limitations...Strengths: Excellent pics and color. Love the zoom. Top value for the price (bought as a end of model runout). Good solid grip and bright zoom lens. Good battery life. Like using the EVF for composing shots in Weakness: Limited low light performance but have found some 'tricks' (see below) Lots of folks have commented on the poor low light focusing and slow shutter speeds certainly c.w. the latest generation high ISO cameras. In fairly low light where slowish shutter may cause blur, I often use the 'manual' setting with ap. priority set to f2.8, and the EV to -1.2 This may give a darker pic but this is easily fixed in Photoshop or similar on the PC. The benefit is that reducing the EV by 1 full step doubles the shutter speed to something much more useable. Also with the flash in low light and no AF lock, just point the camera at a small light source about the right distance away with the shutter halfway then point at the subject with the camera prefocused and the result is a good sharp flash shot. I've had quite good results in a wide range of lighting conditions. Of course you have to keep the camera steady and also real night shots on the night setting and a tripod works great too. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Fujifilm FinePix S3100 4 Megapixel Bridge CameraStrengths: high Optical zoom, EVF usage (low battery consumption), accepts rechargable NiMH batteries, 4.0MP, Accepts larger memory cards (some cameras limit, I have 256 MB card), Video, auto-focus, low price Weakness: The camera doesn't have a microphone, so no sound for video. I am paranoid the lcd will get scratched, but I'd be that way for any camera. The digital zoom works on all but highest resolution. I am incredibly pleased with this camera. I got a great price for it and free shipping that arrived within two days. Any problems that I've encountered, I've been able to learn how to fix, such as blurriness of an image if you're taking an action shot. Just change the settings for different scenes. This may mean that there's a learning curve for the camera, but that doesn't seem like a big deal. 99% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix S3100 4 Megapixel Bridge CameraStrengths: easy to use, feels/looks like a traditional camera which has a familiarity to it, and in turn makes using it a lot easier. surprisingly light and very good pictures overall Weakness: the settings are a bit crowded and the flash for outdoor evening shots are not phenomenal i replaced my old sony swivel digital with this fujis3100 after shopping around quite a bit. for the price and the quality and the megapixels and the relative ease of use, this was, i thought, the best bargain out there. so far, it hasn't proven me wrong. 98% of readers found this review helpful. Fujifilm FinePix S3100 4 Megapixel Bridge CameraStrengths: The interface is very user friendly. Weakness: This camera is dark indoor images This camera is nicely sized and takes great pix! The ONLY flaw I have found so far is taking pictures in low light - the LCD display is very dark and I can't seem to adjust the brightness. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting an easy-to-use point-and-shoot digital camera with great picture quality. The camera also comes with Kodak software which lets you create digital photo albums and burn them to CDs as slide shows. 93% of readers found this review helpful. Fujifilm FinePix S3100 4 Megapixel Bridge CameraStrengths: Stylish but clunky. Looks expensive. Fairly easy to use. Powerful 6x optical zoom. Good for still life shots. Weakness: Action shots are difficult with its Electronic View-Finder (EVF). Only has one ISO mode for daylight pics only. Requires FOUR AA batteries. Independent tests reveal the EVF consumes MORE battery than the LCD! The EVF is no match for a traditional optical viewfinder -- the EVF is too dim on sunny days and too slow for action shots. The lack of an optical viewfinder makes it difficult to focus on and shoot moving objects. For instance, when the camera's auto-focus locks in, the EVF freezes the frame and your subject matter is out of the frame before you can snap it. Four AA batteries would suggest a long battery life. Wrong! I could only shoot 100 daytime pics (at 2.0 MP) with the included batteries. A new set of batteries at night could muster only 20 flash photos. My five-year-old 2.1-MP EPSON camera could do 350 daylight/80 flash pics before the batteries were toast! The weakness of only one ISO 100 mode makes dark, indoors or nighttime photography difficult. If the camera had more ISO modes, then the flash would be more useful at distances greater than 10 feet. I mostly take pics at concerts, auto-racing events, and at dimly-lit parties. My shots are spontaneous and rarely planned. I just keep snapping, knowing I will delete the ones that don't turn out. I need a fast camera, and you get what you pay for. Four megapixels are nice if you print photos. But since I don't, I'm returning this camera and getting a 3-megapixel Canon or Olympus, instead. 88% of readers found this review helpful. Refurbished/Reconditioned S3100 - No DealStrengths: For the Serious amature wanting features you can't beat the zoom. The auto settings are great for those learning to shoot and just want to keep it simple. The learning curve is a snap with the more advance features. There are plenty of lenses and adapter Weakness: The plastic case is a little light and the retainers for the strap could have been designed to be a little heavier. DO NOT buy a factory refurbished kit. The factory reconditioned product does not include the lens adpter ring, strap, lens cap or batteries and you only get a short warranty. Walmart sells the brand new S3100 camera for under $220.00 with the accessories that don't come with a reconditioned model and you get a full warranty. You are better off getting new with accessories included and a warranty. Although reconditioned may look like a deal, buying the items that are not included in the reconditioned models will have you with a used reconditioned camera kit at pretty much the price of brand new. 79% of readers found this review helpful. Nice Impressive SLR Style Digital CameraStrengths: Stylish, Optical Zoom 6x - PowerFul Lens, Direct Printing without a PC, 4MP sensor that captures enough detail for quality 11x15" enlargements Weakness: Little bit overweight and Bulky compared to the new Digital Cameras in the market xD Picture Card - these cards are bit costly compared to CF, SD Eats lot of AA Batteries I upgraded to this camera from my previous Fuji finepix 2600 2MP model. The Optical Zoom and the lens made me fall for Fuji Digital Camera. The Colors are just excellant and the pictures quality is equally brilliant - no complaints. FUJI remains my top pick in Digital Cameras. 75% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fujifilm FinePix S3100 4 Megapixel Bridge CameraStrengths: Super 6x Zoom, 4MP. Weakness: No image stabilization. Uses expensive xD card. This is one of the few cameras that has a longer zoom (6x) than most cameras on the market (upto 3x) and that is its most useful feature. The camera is fairly small and lightweight and takes great outdoor pictures. The extra zoom provides for some nice close-up shots of action or nature. The lack of an image stabilisation feature (like on some more expensive models from Canon and Panasonic) makes some pictures bit blurry, especially in low-light conditions. But in most cases it takes nice pictures. Its 4MP image sensor captures great details and the price of the camera makes it a good value for money for someone who needs more zoom than 3x. 75% of readers found this review helpful. Fujifilm FinePix S3100 4 Megapixel Bridge CameraStrengths: Ease of use; firm and substantial feel. Weakness: Might be considered bulky by some Takes excellent pictures. Fujifilm S3100 digicamStrengths: Best quality photos. Nice zoom. Easy to use. Works on AAA batteries. Light weight. Weakness: Does not fit in pocket. Zoom and MPs not available for video clips (Uses it's default settings). Very nice camera overall. Once u use it, u may not like any other camera. I'll recommend all to purchase this or S5100 according to their buget. I like zoom and colors most in this camera. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fuji FinePix S3100
Fuji's made a practice of developing good-quality digicams that sell for rock-bottom prices. Following this trend, last year's FinePix 2800 and 3800 Zoom cameras turned out to be exceptional values for the money, and the updated FinePix S3100 carries forward this tradition with the addition of a 4.0-megapixel CCD. The S3100's higher resolution is a welcome improvement, providing great image... Top

Fujifilm FinePix S3100 4 Megapixel Bridge Camera
Strengths: Takes wide angle pics, good clarity on printed shots, easy to use, looks nice and expensive even though price is reasonable, NIMH batteries work well
Weakness: easy to use in general but takes some time to get used to advanced modes like action shots, almost all pics need the flash to turn out right, takes xd memory card which is more expensive
I really like this camera and have not had any probs with it. I get lots of comments on the stylish look. The NIMH rechargs work well and last a while. The pics I get with this are clear and bright, true to color. The LCD is a nice size also. Zoom pics are blurry if you don't use flash for some reason (in any light) but once you figure that out, works great
