Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Quality for price, features and abilities, easy to use as point/shoot or use for trick and experimental photos.

Weakness: None so far or through all my research - - 6 months of research.

Prior to the S7000 I’ve been a Nikon N65 35mm SLR user; a complicated traditional film package, but produced great results if you had the set-up time for the shot and money for developing. The S7000 with a good sized card is BETTER than my Nikon.

I was skeptical about the semi-pro digitals, thus I did extensive research and waited and waited and waited to see if user reviews came back positively and all saying about the same thing. I spent the better part of 6 months comparing and researching and I consistently found that Fuji S7000 rates highly among its owners, retailers, and professional photographers. I quizzed everyone I knew and every local camera store and read every review on the net and in magazines… I went to the camera stores and toyed with the camera several times… finally convinced, I made the jump and I am happy to say that I have been thoroughly impressed. I would highly recommend this camera to others.

The key items that put me over the top:

- 6.3MP w/ 6x opt zoom for under $500
- CompactFlash slot in addition to XD slot
- Ease of use
- Speediness of use
- Powered by AA batteries, not a proprietary battery

This camera is so fast and so easy, that despite having the ability to be a semi-pro camera, it can just as easily be a very nicely appointed point/shoot camera. My wife and I always hated that my Nikon, even in auto mode, was cumbersome as a point and shoot and we missed a lot of pics. Worse than this was that we’d get rolls back from processing (at least $4 a piece) and be disappointed with how many pics we’d have deleted or not taken had we known the final image – our motivation for going digital. Both of us love the 2” screen for point/shoot purposes, and I love all the shooting modes for my trick and experimental photography.

Love the CF cards, AA battery power source (we use rechargables to keep costs low), hot shoe, love the attachments, love the different modes and quality in each.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Aside from the cost, Professional images, feel and look. Versatility and available features. 6 mp quality. shutter speed and sound. Battery life and dual card mode

Weakness: Some colors need to be corrected, limited lens availability, flash is just bearable at distance. Mode wheel is too sensitive and does get changed sometimes while handling without realizing it.

I had a Nikon 995 and thought it was great. Left it in a cab in DC, forgetaboutit. Nikon was my first digital. The Fuji is far better in almost all ways, from Macro to landscapes and portraits to action I have not been disappointed. Someday I'll even get to use all the features...........maybe.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: It does EVERYTHING. Pictures are clear. The software is great and easy to use. You can get attachments for different lenses and filters. Gives option to use both Xd and Flash memory cards.

Weakness: So many buttons, you HAVE to read the manual. Bulky attachments. Tiny memory card. HAVE to buy rechargable batteries.

After tons and tons of research my husband and I decided this was the digital camera of our dreams. I have taken a photography class or two so I didn't want to give up my manual controls. However, we are temporarily residing out of country and want to be able to send clear digital photos home to friends and family. This seemed to be one of the best digital cameras in the market in this price range. We anticipated this purchase for months. When we finally ordered it and it came in the mail, we weren't disappointed.
We were smart and ordered a package with it that included a 256mb Xd card. The 16mb Xd is a joke. We are very impressed, however, with the option to use both Xd and Flash memory cards. There are two memory card slots in the camera. So, if you fill up one card, the camera automatically switches to using the other. Very versitile.
Beware: the batteries that came with the camera only lasted for about 100 shots -- if that. We were VERY glad the battery charger came with our package as well. Now, I have to admit right off the bat that I was really overwhelmed with all the features of this camera. It does SO much. Unfortunately, it's necessary to camp out with the manual for a few hours before you can do any of the fancy stuff. Luckily my husband has that kind of patience (you will need it too). The automatic setting is great if you are outdoors with plenty of light and just want a decent shot. If you plan to use it in any type of low light setting, you will need a tripod. The great thing about a digital camera is you can take as many shots as you want, without feeling like you are losing money etc. The more we use this camera the more comfortable we are with it, and the better the shots turn out.
One thing to remember is that although you have the option of using the 6mp setting, it does take up a lot of memory. For day to day shots that I just want to email to family and friends, I have found myself actually reducing the size of the file as to not take up tons and tons of their memory space.
Another thing that we've noticed with this camera is that although you can buy attachments to add lenses and filters to, the way this camera is built gives no options but to have the attachements stick out 4 inches on the front. With no lens cap that fits on the filter front, you will find yourself having to remove it after each use to avoid scratches. It is quite the pain, and may hinder use of the attachements at all.
The software included for your computer is great! It's easy to use and has lots of options. You are even able to crop, improve image quality, and change file size without having to use any other programs. Nice!
The image quality is impeccable. Though I must admit I have yet to try to enlarge to a gigantic size and print it out, but for everyday use, I couldn't ask for more.
Overall we are very pleased with this camera. We are still learning how to use it's complex features, but that's much better than with some cameras where you know right off they don't do much. I highly recommend getting your hands on the Fugi Finepix S7000. It's great value for the money!

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Clarity of photo, color reproduction, lots of customization, looks and feels like a standard SLR

Weakness: Only 6X zoom compared to 10X on the lower S models, lots of buttons to learn.

Extremely high Quality of Pictures, I have a 3.2megapixel Sony camera too. And there is an unimaginable difference between the two. The Fuji Fine Pix s7000's over all clarity is better and the color is much more accurate. Fast start up time, so you don't miss anything your trying to shoot. I like the fact I can set it to continuous mode and take up to 5 photos in just a few seconds. The manual mode is a little hard to get use to, but with some practice it's a valuable tool. Feels like a natural extention of your hands, the grip and size of the camera is very well designed.

Only two down sides I could see is the fact that it doesn't have the 10X zoom like the other S class models and, you have to convert the CCD-RAW files too TIFF format once they are on your computer; which takes considerable time. But I would say times when you will use the CCD-RAW function will be little to none. the (12M fine) mode is very nice.

I would recommend at least a 128MB card, a nice case and rechargeable batteries and charger.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Excellent Fuji colors, solid 6X zoom lens, raw format, cable release on shutter button, strong built-in flash

Weakness: quite noisey at higher ISO of 400 and 800, lowest ISO 200 setting

I find this camera a joy to use. It is as easy as I wish it ... I can set it to simply point & shoot, or I can take a little more thought and set up the exposure I wish. The preview feature with digital cameras makes it a snap to change a setting (Fuji very nicely organized the controls on the S7000) and try a different exposure ...

Low light, as with all consumer level digicams, is the bane of the S7000 also. Tough to focus ... and noise and color shifts to deal with. This is where I find the benefit of the strong built-in flash useful ... even if built-in flashes are not the greatest.

I find this camera fun to use, and would buy it again.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Great pictures, great price, relatively easy to use and no ERR message that the Cannon gets.

Weakness: Somewhat power hungry with the batteries. However, I do like the fact that it uses regular batteries which when purchased in bulk ie over 10, are relatively cheap.

I love this camera, it takes great pictures and is probably one of the cheapest 6mp cameras on the market. Reliability is fantastic and all in all it is relatively easy to use, just spend a bit of time learning the features and that time invested pays off. I truly would recommend this camera to someone who wants high quality pictures at a relatively cheap price. I do believe the camera is power hungry, ie goes through batteries quickly, although I suspect it is no more than the competitors. I love the fact that it uses regular AA batteries as you can buy these cheap when you buy in bulk and in emergencies can get them in Asia, Europe and Africa without a problem, furthermore you do not have an issue with a charging unit/adaptor etc when in a foreign country. Overall, I am thoroughly happy with this camera and highly recommend it.

S7000 Great SLR Camera for the money

Strengths: Many - Ease of use. Great picture quality. Good Zoom. Excellent night photos (especially around campfires, etc). AA Batteries a plus (400 plus shots on rechargeables). Compact Flash & XD card a plus.

Weakness: Available lens - Though I have never used my x2 doubler lens. Sometimes bump the Manual Focus Button without knowing, until you realise w few pics are not in focus.

I have used my camera for over 3 years now. I spent a lot of time researching. For a under $ 500.00 camera with the quality, 6.3 mp range, zoom, and compact flash with AA batteries it is INCREDIBLE! I spent the money years back for a 2 GB CF card. Well worth it, I take around 1250 photos before filling up the chip at 6.3 mb res. I have taken many night photos around the camp fire and cannot believe how well they look (depth and clarity). I have shot over 200 GB of photos and have never been disappointed, except when I have asked someone else to take photos (team photos - while I coached (they accidentally bump the Manual Focus, and take the photos not realizing the auto focus is off). I can take over 400 photos with re-chargeables - LCD Screen OFF). I have taken 3 different sets of wedding photos, and my pictures often are better that the package photos family has purchased from the professionals. I have taken hundreds of flash photos in caves and caverns (does a great job with lighting with the pop up flash, and great colors in these conditions). With the 2 GB CF card, you can take over an hour of mpeg video. It is great when you take 30 minutes of video and can still take over 700 pictures before needing more memory... We have bought over 5 cameras for work. We use them to sell photos to our guests (printed out to 8 x 10 for $ 14.99 each), and everyone loves their photos - not many refunds given back). With the 6.3 mb, we can also offer 11 x 17 photos for $ 29.99. It is so easy to take great photos with (no problems with our many employees with many different talents). It is easier to use and takes better photos than the Sony 700 series cameras (we have had 2 different ones at work - they are hard to use, and the photos are so-so. I like it better than the Nikon (which is harder to use). However, hard to convince Nikon owners of this.
For entry level SLR, novice, semi-serious, priceless vacations...it is a great purchase, you will not be sorry.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Video Mode, User Friendly Interface, Easy to use controls, Electronic View Finder, Dual Media Slots, etc. etc. etc. ---

Weakness: Other than the long list of spendy accessories and the ability to only take RAW images in the 12mp mode, this camera is perfect for me.

Bang for the Buck! That is what you get with the s7000. The few weaknesses that have poped up here under review, are mostly issues that deal with wanting a $1500 & up camera, for the now low price of $440.

It's only been two days, but I can see that I am 100% Satisfied with this camera. A+ Highly recommended, I would buy again. I got it at Buydig.com.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: It has almost everything, great camera, great functions, great price £220 new

Weakness: pictures a bit over saturated

I am a truly canon fan,had over 12 and now own 5 ,they are great, but couldn't find exactly what i was looking for in that brand so gave it a shot and bought S7000.
Don't wanna advertise for Fuji BUT i must admit this camera is fantastic,And Price was even better,£220 instead of £300-£400 !!What else can i definitely recommend it to people who have doubt about buying this camera,The nearest thing to a SLR with almost all the functions and flash is the best part of it-no red eyes...i mean nothing..

power is good when using 2000mAh NI-MH batteries and above .
Ps. Just can,t understand why Fuji did not built it with a 50-100 ISO disappointing have to learn from Canon "haha"

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Picture Quality, easy to use, versatile

Weakness: None for an experienced SLR or Digital camera user. For those who wish for point and shoot and want a small light camera, try a cheaper less sophisticated version.

The Fuji S7000 is the best. I have been looking for an upgrade from SLR or compainion to SLR for three years. I kept looking bacause most cameras did not have the SLR quality and feel, and those that did were beyond my budget. The S7000 has made the grade in both quality and price. This is an excellent camera for those who are used to SLR, however the ease and instant acces to your media is the great thing about this camera. I took photos on the first day that are professional quality, and was able to print and frame them too.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Great Fuji color. Being SLR-like camera, it has many manual control features.

Weakness: Slow autofocus in low light(no autofocus assist). Lack of jpg compression option.

I've found this camera to be a great camera for vacation trips. It's got plenty of zoom and creative manual control. Has luminance histogram. Custom white balance option and auto WB is very good. Can also do continuous or manual focus.

ISO 400 is a bit noisy. ISO 800 only works in 3MP resolution. However, prints is good in 5x7.

Overall, it's a very good camera. The color and print quality is excellent in ISO 160(auto) & 200.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Great Pictures, extremely vivid, great manual controls, excellent macro-super macro for closeups, superb night shots. Solid, The camera has alot of features. 6.3 meg CCD not a power hog.

Weakness: none so far. Maybe auto focus could be a little clearer.

I researched alot cameras prior to purchasing this one. I liked the fact that the camera gives you alot of options for auto and manual or semi-manual controls. Beautiful pictures with Fuji's 4th generation CCD. With 6.3 megapixal quality. Really vivid. Extremely warm and rich photos. Plenty of internal flash with hot shoe for external. Phenominal night time shots. Macro Super Macro for closeups. Alot camera for a very reasonable price. The only other camera I was considering at this point, was an entree level SLR. I think I made the right choice.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Low Price, hot shoe for external flash, manual mode, good battery life with 4 AA NnH, 6 MP, shoots soon after pressing shutter button even when auto focus.

Weakness: ISO 200 (160 in auto) is as low as it will go. Slightly noisy picture due to ISO not going down to 64 or 100 but not bad. Manual f stop stops down to only f8.

Paid $600 with a $100 rebate, now I find it over $100 less on the web. In spite of the weaknesses mentioned I like the camera very much.

I used to take photos semi-profesionally (but not any more) I wanted a camera for a wedding. The 2 main things I needed was a shutter that was quick and a camera that I could use my external flash so I would have a lot of light and no red eye. With the flash head high above the lens, there is no problem with red eye!

Photos 8x10, 11x14 and larger are very good but would be better if the ISO went lower than 200.

Camera has so many features I probably will not use them all. The down side of all the features is that you may have a feature turned on and not know about it.

I wish they'd get a good tech writer to write the user manual (this is my complaint of most camera manual I've seen). There are some good features on this camera but they don't explain exactly what is technically going on.

They camera feels good and I would buy it again.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Picture Quality, VGA size movies, extensive features, xD and CompactFlash/MicroDrive slots

Weakness: no dedicated external flash ability

Extremely detailed photos even under extensive cropping. Colors are accurate and nicely saturated. Included manual is thorough in describing all of the cameras functions but is often a bit to brief in the description of the function itself. Features make it a very versatile camera for both quick shots in Auto mode to Professional shots in all other modes.

Fuji S7000 Camera

Strengths: Extensive features. Multiple memory storage with xD/MicroDrive. When in focus, The Fuji S7000 has great picture saturation and quality...picking up color tones other cameras miss.

Weakness: Slow focus. S-AF setting unreliable. Frequent noisy pictures. On-off switch does not lock in place sufficiently to prevent accidental switching on when returning to camera case & losing your power.

The Fuji S7000 is basically a potentially great camera with some major challenges.

I ran a multiple directory portrait shoot with the Fuji S7000 camera and another standby camera on tripods. The slow Fuji focus resulted in way too many unfocused pictures. It is difficult to tell this on the EVG/LCD screen. It is more likely that when a person enlarges the pictures later that the fuzziness is detected. One might as well use faster shutter speed settings for most pictures. However, there still is an actual capture delay before you can apparently reshoot. I would recommend taking several shots of the subject with a sufficient pause in between. Unfortunately, most people aren’t going to sit around to wait for your camera to reset. I'm glad I had the other old standby camera to rely on for the multiple portrait directory shoot.

Fuji S7000 night light exposure settings are challenging as well. A person is often unable to see the full extent of actual capture in EVF/LCD screen.

The User Manual is frequently unclear and difficult to follow. My wish list includes having Fuji develop a downloadable tutorial emphasizing focusing requirements and light exposure settings.

When the settings are correct with sufficient capture pause timing, the S7000 pictures can be fantastic and are preferable to the same shot taken by other cameras.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Resolution, Versatility, Value

Weakness: Flexibility, connectivity

This is currently my favorite camera -- including my old 35mm SLR and my APS SLR cameras. Now that I've had enough pictures printed professionally, I'm REALLY happy. I compared it with the Nikon 5400 and 5700 (which I almost went with because of their lens interchangability). But pixel for pixel, the Fuji came out best bang for the buck. I pre-ordered when Fuji first announced them so I've had mine for over 2 months, and it's hard to leave the house without it!

Fuji has done a decent job with their Macintosh software, but it is still lacking. There is no native support for web-camming via the Mac (I also own a Dell). And I wish there were more lens options. But I figure the Tele and Wide lenses that Fuji sells for it must be pretty good. Don't get me wrong, if you have a Mac, do not turn away from this camera. So far, I haven't even hooked it up to my Dell. And I've found the best way to download these large hi-res pix is to buy a compact flash PC Card adapter. Works great in my PowerBook G4, and I was able to use CF cards that I had for another older cam.

Be warned, as others have pointed out, this is not a simple point & shoot -- although it can be used that way.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: -Price -Ease of use in Auto settings -Fits in hand nicely -Many features

Weakness: -RAW images at "interpolated" 12MP ONLY -JPEG compression is too aggressive and not adjustable -Fixed lens -Weak package -Adapter needed for filters -Etc. etc.

I purchased this camera because of the 6.3MP and price. $412 after $100 rebate and that price includes the shipping.
I was devastated when I found out I could not take RAW images at it's native 6.3MP. You can only take RAW images at the 'interpolated' 12MP settings (there are 2, fine or normal). Since it's interpolated there will be a degrade. This wouldn't be so bad if you could at least adjust the amount of JPEG compression when shooting at 6.3MP but you CAN'T and this camera is set at a VERY HIGH compression rate. This does save space on your memory cards but you'll pay for it in quality. To the naked eye for normal size prints will not notice but if you have plans of blowing them up past 8x10 there will be noise. Go to any reproduction service and ask what they prefer. RAW or TIF images shot at the highest resolution. If you must use JPEGs set them at the highest quality compression rate.(sigh)
There is no way to attach filters to the fixed lens unless you add an optional adapter tube and then the original lens cap doesn't fit. You get the adapter tube with on optional filter kit and/or the optional .45 wide and 2x tele coverter kit but one warning. When the 2x telephoto converter is attached, unless you are practically at full zoom you will see the inside of the tube in your shot. Not bad if you want that circle effect but COME ON!
The camera does not come with the AC adapter and Fuji wants $50 plus $10 shipping. I bought a knockoff by Sakar for $25 shipping included which worked great for 6 weeks. They are replacing it no questions asked.
The camera comes with a tiny 16MB memory card. I knew this before hand so had a 256 here before the camera even arrived. The 16mb has literally never even been in the camera.
ISO settings that you can chose range from 200 to 800. It says it will shoot at ISO 160 in auto mode when it decides to but I've yet to see that happen. Maybe on a sunny day at the beach or in the snow. Since I'm mostly concerned with quality right in the studio I've mostly shot at ISO 200 on the manual setting.
The highest F stop is F8. I found this disappointing since I've always shot my portraits at f16 with film. I'm new to digital cameras and don't know if this is of any concern. My shots still seem to have enough depth of field.
Now that I've gotten all my frustrations out I have to say the camera functions well. It's pretty easy to use, especially in the various auto settings. It has fairly good battery life unless you're taking a lot of flash shots and continuously using the LCD screen. You're going to always have to have a pocket full of batteries though if you're on the road. Good thing is it takes 4 AA's. The flash has an impressive 25' range. The fastest shutter speed is a very impressive 1/10,000 sec. The 2 macro settings take awesome closeup shots. It will take a 15 minute movie with a 1 gig microdrive. You can have an XD card and microdrive in at the same time and switch back and forth. Remote flash is no problem with a hotshoe/PC adapter.
This camera has a lot of settings and buttons and will take time to become proficient with them all unless you are a genius with a photographic memory but you really can start taking pix right out of the box on auto settings.
If you're an amateur and want a camera to catch shots of your exciting life it's a great deal for the buck.
In all fairness to Fuji I have to say that I'm probably going to have to shell out 2 to 5 thousand smackers for the digital camera that will do what I want it to do. You really do get what you pay for.

$412 camera after $100 rebate
87 256mb Fuji XD picutecard
89 wide/tele lens adapters and filter kit(knockoff)
25 AC adapter(knockoff)
----------
$613 TOTAL

Perhaps an expensive lesson but I've have learned a lot about digital cameras since working with this one and have had a lot of fun with the camera. I will be selling it when I can afford what I really want. Any offers? :)

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Takes clear sports pictures once you learn a few settings.

Weakness: Bulky to carry but worth it for the pics

Takes good basketball action, especially if you can get next to the floor. No flash used most of time. Pictures very clear once you learn how not to move while taking (keep elbows by sides). Did not use tripod and used screen not EVF? Used ISO 400, 12 normal, continuous focus and occasional single focus, on both auto and SP with sports setting (little running man) with great results. From bleachers tends to
focus on heads in front of you unless you use focus as they tell you to do and are very careful. Have not tried raw but have some sample
pictures of above if anyone needs. Have taken about 400
pictures in 3 weeks. Daughter bought one too and Christmas family pictures were superb and print out A plus.

As you can see, I am an amateur, over 65, and still got some
great pictures. There is hope for anyone!

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Excellent quality. Easy to use, feels comfortable in hand when taking pictures. Bundled software seems to work well saving and downloading pictures. Awesome price with rebate

Weakness: Battery life, I bought some of the new 15 minute rechargables at Wal-mart and it really makes using this camera much more plesant

After much debate about which camera I wanted I chose the S7000 mainly for 2 reasons. #1 was I bought a S5000 for work and it is really nice and has functioned flawlesly but for home use I wanted more pixels. #2 PRICE!! I was looking locally to buy this camerea but found most places around here (Best Buy, Circuit City) don't carry this model. I finally found it at Pete's Photo World (again, locally) they wanted $697.00 for it. I then looked on the internet and found it at Butterfly Photo.com for $483.00 plus a $100.00 rebate. YUP, I paid only $383.00 for a 6.3 mp. camera with 6X Zoom. I never thought I would be able to find a camera of this magnitude for less than what I paid for a 3.1 mp. camera 6 months ago.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: PICTURE QUALITY,VERSATILITY

Weakness: SOFTWARE

VERY HAPPY WITH THIS CAMERA,GREAT AS A POINT AND SHOOT ,BUT IF YOU WANT TO GO MANUAL LOTS OF FEATURES.
I DIDN,T BUY IT FOR THE MOVIE MODE BUT I LOVE THAT FEATURE SO MUCH I BOUGHT A MICRODRIVE FOR IT 1GB.TAKES 15 MINUTES OF FILMING.I HAVE 2 256MB.XD CARDS FOR STILLS. THE GREAT THING IS I CAN LOAD BOTH CARDS IN THE CAMERA AT THE SAME TIME AND JUST SELECT THE ONE TO STORE ON

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Excellent photos. Easy to use. Light weight for quality it delivers.

Weakness: Poor battery life with standard batteries.

I would highly recommend this camera. I have been taking pictures of our high school baseball & softball teams with excellent results. Other parents have been amazed at pictures I have been giving them on standard bright white paper. Action shots are as good or better than the newspapers that use cameras & lenses costing thousands more than I paid for the S7000.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: From a beginer to pro can enjoy this camera

Weakness: None

I reason I am writing this review is that many people before me reviewed this camera and help me to make up my mind. So I feel I have to do the same. This camera in auto mode takes great pictures and you really don't need to know much about how it works, but for someone who is into photography the possibilities are unlimited. There are too many bells and whistles on the camera and it take sometime to learn. Have the owner's manual ready and enjoy. This is a great camera at a great price. The batteries that comes with package lasted about 5 minutes, but don't be disappointed, radio shack has 1800mA AA Ni-Mah batteries that really breath life into the camera. while I was at radio shack I picked up battery charger for my AA's which also doules as wall charger for $19.99 (store price was $39.99 but I saw it on their website for $19.99), this is a great price. The charger adapter you need is B, which comes free with the charger, but you need to shave the plastic on the adapter a bit to make it work, and don't forget to set the charger to 4.5V.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Takes excellent photos. Easy to use.

Weakness: The 16mb card that comes with it isn't enough memory for very many photos. Also, for automatic flash to work you have to remember to pop up the flash..which I keep forgetting to do.

I love this camera! My previous camera (which belongs to my boss at the newspaper) was an Olympus Camedia.. also a good camera, but mine runs rings around that one! I took photos at a Civil War reenactment this past weekend and was able to get over 100 photos at 6 mps on the 256mp card (and had room to spare). I started with fresh alkaline batteries, and swapped out the batteries once. I don't use the compact flash card (not even sure what that is, actually)..
If you want to see the photos this camera took it's first time out.. check here: www.tastynews.com... and click on the Scottsville Civil War link.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: easy to use great features

Weakness: slight image noise but no problems with printing pics. the raw conversion software could be better but it does a good job.

i was down to three cameras the dimage a1 the nikon 5700 and the fuji s 7000. this camera takes excellent pics no problems using the auto mode to take pics. havnt used any of the advanced modes yet but will eventually. works well with add on lenses and the number of pics you can take with rechargable batts is outstanding. if i had to choose again i would definitely buy the fuji again a great camera at a great price. i got the camera with lenses two tripods 256 xd card rechard batts charger, and ac adapter for 757.00 plus the 100 dollar rebate final cost 657.00. no other camera could even come close to this price even without the rebate. awsome check it out you wont be disappointed.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: High resolution (up to 12 MPixel), Support ISO 800 (very good in low light condition), Consump less energy compared to the other camera, 20x total zoom

Weakness: In auto mode, the picture is not so good in low light condition (need to adjust ISO).

I used to buy Fuji S602 before for my brother. It was very very good and when I heard about Fuji S7000 with the new generation of CCD, I didn't hesitate to buy this camera. I give me very sharp, low noise, and high quality pictures. Also, the picture in the maximum resolution (12MP) by interpolating is still very very sharp. Furthermore, it has a super macro mode which let us take a very close picture of an object such as a snowflake. It surprised me with the quality and sharpness. I don't hesitate to recommend anybody to buy this camera.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: very sharp pictures, at least as far as my amateurish eye can see. this camera far exceeds most abilites. great battery life.

Weakness: if you must have that spur of the moment- once in a life time- crocodile swallowing a hippo with the loch-ness in th background, shot; you'd better be ready cause it'll take time to power on.

this is actually my second digital camera but the first one i've actually put to use.i've taken over twelve hundred pictures and most of them are throw aways but that's not the camera's fault. I'm still learning exposure,f/stop, and shutter settings. i'm now the family photographer and have excellent shots of birthday parties, kids, pets and a brand new harley. i would recommend this camera to anyone interested in taking pro-quality pictures as an amateur for a bargain price. it's rare to get this much camera for this price.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: High resolution pictures. 6X optical zoom. Great build quality. Numerous modes. Multi-shot buffer capacity. Good saturation in images. Sharp image in LCD. Fast auto focus.

Weakness: There is some noise visible in images, even at ISO 200, but it's not enough to bother me even when making 8" X 10" prints.

I think this camera is a bargain at current prices on the Internet (less than $600). I have an Olympus C-730. Before, I had the Olympus c-2100UZ. Both are good cameras and I wish the C-7000 had their 10X optical zoom. However, the increased resolution makes a marked difference in improving image quality. I sit in cheap seats at various sports arenas. Now that I have learned to adjust ISO settings for darker venues, the picture sharpness has become quite good. No blur visible at all. This camera is probably too much for a beginner, but if you want a digital camera that is versatile, durable, and not incredibly pricey, consider the S7000.

Good price for a very good digital SLR like camera

Strengths: 6.3 megapixels, 6x optical zoom, great quality pictures and movies, use XD and CF type 1 & 2

Weakness: none

i love this camera, no problem at all with the battery drain cause by CF or formatting FAT 16 with microdive, both my 256 mb CF type 1 and the microdive 2.2GB work great. very good deal for the price after rebate!

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Probably the best digital camera on the market for the money very user friendly and with the added memory, it is indispensable, especially if you download their very good customer manual and read it

Weakness: nothing noted.

Tough scrappy little camera , the easiest to download, the movie feature is a little hokie but will work for the family. Color is vibrant and if you adjust, be careful, the controls are very sensitive. Hopefully they will build the same camera on a SLR frame someday and keep the price close to this. there is nothing on the market under $500 that will even come close to this machine!

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: It appears that I am the first to break up the five star review of this camera. Here goes: This is an excellent camera for the advanced amateur photographer or one who wants to advance his skills.

Weakness: I do not like the xD picture card. It is fast but it is very small. With the Compact Flash card installed it drains the batteries even when the camera is turned off.

I like the camera very much and it is an easy step up from the S602 but the fact that it drains batteries when the Compact Flash card is left in the camera is a real bummer. Fuji confirms that this happens. I think it is a manufacturing defect personally.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 5

Weakness: none

I did so much research and was ready to choose between the Minolta A1 or the Nikon 5400

Then I found the Fuji S7000 and compared all three.

Without a doubt the S7000 beats them all by far.

Especially for the price. I took it to Spain the last week of November for a project I had to do. Now I won't leave home without it.

Whether you are a prosumer or just starting out ,I highly, highly recommend this camera. Very user friendly. ***** all the way.

It's a great camera with a great price. It's fast, and easy to use. The quality of the pictures is just excellent. This is an excellent camera for those who are used to SLR, however the ease and instant access to your media is the great thing about this camera.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: 12 recorded megapixel for some very sharp pictures, 1/10,000 of a sec shutter speed (how much faster do you need), takes 4 AA (I use rechargables)

Weakness: Rechargables need to recharge, other than that...there are none!

I use Adobe Photoshop CS and this camera is perfect for me. The high resolution makes for easy photo manipulation when I have to do close up detail work. The richness in colors blows my mind, but hey check it out for yourself.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Outstanding picture quality. Two different types of picture cards. Long battery life.

Weakness: Transfer of picture card to computer doesn't work.

I have found the camera easy to operate. The picture quality is execellent and the zoom and macro functions work well. I also checked out the movie and sound functions and they also work well. The function to look at pictures on a TV also works well. The only problem was downloading pictures from the camera directly to a computer. I could not get this function to work. Downloads can be accomplished by using appropriate card readers. Since I don't plan on downloading directly to a computer my decision was to keep the camera since all other functions work well.

Great Camera

Strengths: Easy to use; semi-professional; great quality of pictures; video features.

Weakness: Battery-consuming

I bought this S7000 1 year ago, just for my newborn baby. I took a lot of pictures by now, with unbeatable quality!!
It comes with a 16MB storage card, apparently not enough. I bought a 256MB card to make it more perfect.
I used the video function a lot to take motion pictures of my baby. Everybody is amazed by the quality of my pictures and video clips.
I am so happy that I chose this camera instead of anything else.

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Beautiful Fuji colour- 12m for large prints- Sftware let image download as jpg(fine, normal or basic), tif or bmp- 30 fps movies limited only by memory card size (download as avi, wmv)- functional

Weakness: Barrel & pincushion distortion- No 50 or 100 ISO- RAW image only available as interpolation (12m)-

barrel & pincushion distortion affects pictures of buildings, tilings, artwork etc. by slightly bowing straight lines, but all comparable cameras would have this drawback.

Otherwise this camera has *everything* - S, AE and Manual modes, 4 scene programs, continuous AF, manual focus with central enlargement, bracketing, continuous shooting up to 40 frames, 2 macro modes - down to 1 cm! AE lock, luminance histogram, self-timer, WB adjustment, 30 fps movies whose length is limited only by the memory available, several display and playback modes, voice memos, spot meter etc. etc. just *everything*

software is basic but easy to use for downloading and converting, creates a folder based on date and files are numbered sequentially with custom prefixes & suffixes if required.

the first day I got this camera, I used it on auto, I got shots that printed on 10 X 8 with no visible defects.
the features I'm using most since then are bracketing (for the perfect exposure), continuous shooting (for movement), manual focus (for low light using spy enlargement) also shutter button is threaded for cable release (avoids shake)

Uses AA batteries, can have rechargables and always available as alkalines in emergency.

This is so good - EVF has 100% coverage, 235,000 pixels, more than LCD (118,000)!

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 Megapixel Bridge Camera

Strengths: Afforable cost; easy to use and easy to follow instructions; good camera for the beginner or for the more advanced photographer.

Weakness: 16XD card-- it doesn't hold many photos; it uses 4 AA batteries-- regular ones don't last long.

I bought the camera to take action photos (sports) as well as composed photos of people/scenery. The 800 ISO setting allows me to do that. It has an autofocus or can be set manually. I did buy a 128MB XD card to hold more photos and a battery charger/batteries as others don't last long; otherwise I usually buy lithihum batteries. I also purchased the wide angle and telephoto lense assessories which adds to the camera's capabilities. The camera takes great photos with great color. It was well worth the price ($400) and buying online helped.

In our round-up, nearly every camera here took good pictures. If size is a factor, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P150—with its compact form, light weight, and 7-megapixel pictures—should fit your needs the best. We really liked the Casio Exilim EX-P600’s striking and innovative Ex Finder, but for the same price, we prefer the Canon PowerShot S70’s pictures and RAW capability....

FujiFilm FinePix S7000

The S7000 is Fuji's follow-on to last year's S602. The S7000 looks and works a lot like the S602, but it left behind some of the S602's exceptional shutter response, and I felt that its color wasn't quite as good as the S602's either. The S7000's biggest issue is image noise though, of which it has quite a lot. Its continuous-mode speed, high resolution, and high ISO might make it a good choice...
