DCRP Review: Canon PowerShot SX30 IS
With their PowerShot SX30 IS, Canon has created a super zoom camera with a focal range that a few years ago seemed impossible. But somehow they managed to stuff a 35X, 24 - 840 mm lens into a midsize body, though not without some compromises in the image quality department. Top

Canon PowerShot SX30IS
The Canon PowerShot SX30IS is a high-end point-and-shoot camera set to be released in September, 2010. According to the manufacturer, this is the world’s first camera with a 35x zoom lens. Also featured is a 14.1-megapixel CCD sensor, the same type commonly found in competing point-and-shoots. This camera will be able to produce exquisite detail at full magnification, but amateur... Canon PowerShot SX30 IS review at Camera Labs
Canon continues to build on the reputation of one of the best super-zooms around, audaciously upping the ante by equipping the SX30 IS with a jaw-dropping 35x optical zoom lens. There's not much you can't photograph with a lens that extends from 25 to 850mm and there's certainly very little in terms of competing models that come close to that range. Other improvements, though less eye-catching,... Top

Canon PowerShot SX30 IS Review
The new Canon PowerShot SX30 IS compact camera climbs straight to the top of the super-zoom ladder with its incredible 35x, 24-840mm optical lens - truly all the focal range that most photographers will ever need or use. In addition to this, the SX30 offers a 14 megapixel image sensor, 2.7 inch vari-angle LCD screen, electronic viewfinder, flash hotshoe, full manual controls and 720p HD movies.... Top

Canon PowerShot SX30 IS Review
Now one of the longest of the long zooms on the market, the Canon SX30 is a blast to use. The size and shape of a small digital SLR, the Canon SX30, is a 35x, 14.1-megapixel digital camera with a swivel screen and image stabilization built in. Ranging from 24-840mm, the Canon SX30's zoom changes how you think about photography. You can selectively crop anything you can see, and the Canon SX30's... Top

Powershot SX39
Strengths: Excellent zoom without changing lens
Weakness: Poor focus on Macro
I've only had this camera a few days. I was in the market for a new camera and had been doing a lot of research. On the Web and with some friends. I have had several Cannon cameras before and have been pleased with them. Most of my experience with cameras is with older manual focus 35mm types. I've had a couple of digital cameras and like all of us I like not having to buy film and being able to edit and delete photos in the digital form. I have experienced a lot of trouble getting this camera to focus properly on close up Macro shots. Anyone have any suggestions?
