HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 935 5.1 Megapixel...

Strengths: good picture quality on the camera

Weakness: conflicts with the software on the computer for unloading, software conflicts for the memory disc

Overall disappointed with the camera. My older 612 was much easier to point and shoot. Picture prints were easy to produce. I haven't even been able to do that yet with this one. Too many software conflicts and phone calls to resolve the issue.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 935 5.1 Megapixel...

Strengths: Light weight, price, ease of use, interface with HP prodicts, clarity of picture.

Weakness: battery life and A/C adapter is not included nor is it sold at Circuit City where we bought the camera

Bought this little camera to take pictures of new grandson. Great, sharp and easy to send pictures. Being tied to battery with A/C adapter only optional and no way to charge the Lithium batteries seems ecologically irresponsible and an added expense. Also plan on buying more memory.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 935 5.1 Megapixel...

Strengths: Lightweight, manual adjustments, clear precise "aim and shoot"

Weakness: Zoom quality poor on picture review.

One of best value's out there. Highly recommend. Replaced Olympus with HP and very satisfied. Download's easily to e-machine with no problems. HP image software basic. Should upgrade.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 935 5.1 Megapixel...

Strengths: Self-timer has a "take two" option; small and lightweight

The HP Photosmart 935 Digital Camera is everything I expected . . . actually more. It is priced reasonably for offering 5.3MP. It is more than just a "point and shoot" digital camera. It has features that allow you to play with the depth of field, aperature, and shutter speed; which is nice for those of us coming from an SLR camera. So far I have no complaints with the camera. My father-in-law has one and he recommended it to me.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 935 5.1 Megapixel...

Strengths: Hi resolution, good picture quality, many options

Weakness: Cumbersome menus, poor battery life, some options missing

First let me note that this camera was sent as a replacement after my HP 720 broke 4 times within the 1-year warrenty. This new camera has held out so far. However, I miss some of the functions on the 720, like the pulse.
The 935 it devours batteries like that's its job. I never use the LCD screen becuase of the rate at which the batteries are depleted. Oh, and it can't even be used after the batteries are about 2/3 gone. After this point, it is impossible to change exposure levels, since that requires LCD view. The battery indicator is wildly erratic. After the camera shuts off due to low batteries, I can wait 15 seconds, turn it on, and battery life is over half left. I carry 2 or three sets of extra batteries with the camera because I know I'll need them. Several of the options, like img resolution, are tough to get to, and browsing/magnifying pictures could be made easier.
That said, the camera does take good pictures (altho the flash is not that powerful), I've had no trouble transferring them to the computer, and the 3x optical zoom works well. But this camera is definately not worth its price.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 935 5.1 Megapixel...

Strengths: It takes excellent pictures. It is small and lightwieght. It has a nice zoom feature.

Weakness: Battery life

I think it is an excellent digital camera. I had an earlier Sony camera and whenever I printed the photos it was obvious that it was from a digital. Not any more!!! It would be nice to have HP offer it's customer's of this camera a battery charger w/batteries or a cash rebate.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 935 5.1 Megapixel...

Strengths: This is really a great camera for amateurs. It is easy to use and has loads of features.

Weakness: The weight and material make it feel cheap.

For the price, it really can't be beat! While it doesn't have the zoom capabilities of the highest-end digital cameras, you can make clear enlargements up to 8" x 10". The pictures look nice printed if you print on photo paper and have a decent printer.

I also have an HP scanner and printer and the products really sync well together. They use the same software and you can hook the camera right to the printer to print proofs.

I am very pleased with this purchase.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 935 5.1 Megapixel...

Strengths: Good photos, satisaftory sharpness, relative affordable price, manual control over exposure

Weakness: Plastic feel, limited manual controls, defective zoom lens built quality, HP suport, extremely fast battery consumption

I have owned a HP photosmart 812 4 Mp for about a year and a half.
At the time i has not very keen taking photos so i just wanted a reliable point and shoot camera.
After 6 months the zoom lens jammed. Did not go out or in anymore. Camera was replaced under warranty.
Hp mentioned they were aware of this problem and several other customers had the same situation.
After 8 months with this one it jammed again, same simptom. Man i got pissed.
Dont think i mistrated the camera. I handle it carefully.
Back to HP again for support they said camera was out of warranty (it was only 8 months after the change and 1500 photos taken)and they would not replace it.
To get it repaired i had to pay 300 Euros (same as dolards).
I have got feed up.
Then this new HP Photosmart 935 came out.
I have bought the new model thinking the lens problems was solved by HP now, but guess what ?
After spending 650 Euros of this new 5 Mp camera...the zoom jammed again.
Same thing.
Not very smart of me relaying on a company with such a name to supply quality cameras.
Called HP again, and since it is still under warranty, they will replace the defective model.
However a thing that really got on my nerves was that i was told that the camera they give you back is a repaired and not a new one. What ??????
The Hp CS was the source.
If you decide to get HP photosmart cameras, DON'T. Be aware. This can happen to you. I know now of 2 customer that got the same problem. Shame on you !!!!

I bought this HP Photosmart 935 Camera and just after 6 months, I am facing the same lens problem. The lens got jammed and would not come out.

Is there a reason for this? I am suprised at the quality of the product.

Same thing here, I have HP Photosmart 935 and I cannot use it now cause my zoom lens got jammed. HP should really take a look at this problem cause they are selling products that get defective easily. I still don't know the cause of this. I am sure that there are others who encountered the same problem. It's not worth it buying this product!

I've had no problem with the 935, but I got 4 new cameras for my 720. HP really doesn't have much in terms of reliability.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 935 5.1 Megapixel...

Strengths: Camera is very user friendly, and responsive to controls. I like being able to shut off the view screen. Instructions are clear and forward.

Weakness: This thing eats up batteries, they recommend shutting off the view screen. I ended up buying a battery charger with extra batteries.

This is my second digital camera. The tecnology has changed and this one is a good example of it. I like the Pentax lense, and the 5 megaplexa really brings in the shot. I bought this for outdoor use and I should do a good job of it. I didn't try to download pictures from the camera or docking station (which I didn't get) but opted for the card reader and bigger card. I like this camera.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 935 5.1 Megapixel...

Strengths: very good resolution

Weakness: not as compact as most digital cameras

This camera is a very good camera for the price. It is one of Hewlett Packard's first 5.3 MP cameras. The resolution on this this camera is excellent. You can print very good photos on 5x8 size photo paper. The total zoom is x21. I highly recommend this camera.
