HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 945 5.1 Megapixel...Strengths: The 8X zoom lens is great. Camera is extremely easy to use. Weakness: Takes a little to much time between pictures This camera is great. I can take pictures of things that are far away as if I am a few feet away. I almost bought a digital SLR but decided to purchase this camera instead. I am not sorry as this eliminates the need to carry extra lenses with me.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 945 5.1 Megapixel...Strengths: see below Weakness: slow writing speed Excellent camera. My second digital after many years with HP C200 without any problems even in my boat. HP945 has very good construction and features. Very good with macro. Excellent with lowlight with tripod and zoom. Very good video.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 945 5.1 Megapixel...Strengths: 8x optical zoom, 7x digital zoom Fuji lens ... very good starting point. Digital Flash extends the dynamic range very nicely. HP image processing. Weakness: Extended shutter lag. Slow post processing in-camera. Limited onboard flash range and no hot shoe for external flash. I am quite pleased with the HP 945. I received it as a warranty replacement for the HP C912 2 MP camera. The 8X optical zoom Fuji lens is a real plus. Some fault the 7X digital zoom as a waste in that it is nothing more than cropping the 8X image ... this may be true, but I find HP can process the cropping feature in-camera faster and with better results than I can in Photoshop. I like it. The...

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 945 5.1 Megapixel...Strengths: 8x optical zoom. auto rotate for portrait pictures. lens cover attaches to lens, not housing. Weakness: large, battery consumption. could have better color balance Amazing camera overall. There is a mechanical lever that when you rotate the camera to photograph in the portriat orientation, it will automaticaly rotate the picture when saving. The grip on the camera is perfect for holding steady, no fears of dropping. I haven't used any of the included software, I simply transfer the photo's directly. Easy to use and navigate through the menus. There is a...

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 945 5.1 Megapixel...Strengths: High megapixels result in clear pictures. Zoom is also very good. Weakness: Camera is slow in getting ready for next shot. Takes a few seconds to process pictures. There are certain good things about this camera, the great 5MP resulution and easy to navigate menu are some of it big pluses. However, one of the major drawbacks to the camera is time between shots, while shooting children or other objects, the camera takes a while for the viewfinder to get ready for the next shot which means that you might miss the good shot of the little ones.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 945 5.1 Megapixel...Strengths: It's "Adaptive Lighting Technology" incorporated into it's flash feature provides for an enhanced "backlighting" effect, illuminating the entire background, thus allowing for a more complete shot. Weakness: The only "weakness" I can find is that it only has two or three resolution settings, whereby a 5.3+ Megapixel camera, regardless of the brand, should allow for many, many more resolution settings. I can only recommend this camera using the highest of complimentary terms. It's 2" Color LCD screen allows for a more clear choice of shots. It's "Adaptive Lighting Technology" allows for more perfect shots in dark environments. It's 56x total zoom (8x precision optical, 7x digital zoom) allows for unique distance shots not available on most, if not all, digital camera's of this megapixel range....

HP (Hewlett-Packard) Photosmart 945 5.1 Megapixel...Strengths: Excellent quality pics at both MP settings Weakness: Alkaline batteries don't last very long Excellent all around camera for the serious photographer. Too many features to list, but I like 'em all including the 56x zoom and adaptive lighting technology. Adaptive lighting gives great pictures in low/mixed light conditions.

hp 945Strengths: great pic quality, 8x zoom, dslr trainer!! Weakness: power consuming, lag between photos, slow manual lense focus, no external flash if you are a begginer and wanted to jump into buying DSLR.. u might have problems with all the settings.. the good thing about this camera which i refer as a DSLR Trainer is, it has almost more than half of a common DSLR camera features. its definitely better than the compact camera but not as good as a DSLR. so if u r an ambitous beginner photographer, get this one, once u master it, then u have...

Slow & confused focusing system, but intuitive setup
Strengths: Very intuitive setup and using the camera is a snap. It is also powerful with many customizeable functions
Weakness: The lens is confused and slow sometimes. Make sure you have fresh NiMH batteries rather than one that's been used for sometime.
When I first started using this camera, it wouldn't power up properly because I was using a fully charged NiMH battery that's been sitting there for a while. It might have lost enough of the charge that it is insufficient to power up the camera. Buy a good warranty (extended) if possible.
