Optical Viewfinder great in bright sun
Unless you buy a really expensive camera, this is the only digital camera that has an optical viewfinder, so in bright sun you can actually see what you are taking. Bright sun makes it impossible to see an image on an LCD screen, making most small cameras

Improvement over A1200
I bought this for the eye-level viewer, Canon seems to be the only kind that has this feature in this size & price range. The 5x zoom is a bonus. The camera is lightweight & compact and fits in a pocket. A fine all-purpose workhorse.
