Olympus Camedia C-5000 5 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Very good image quality. many features and manual adjustments. The best for the price. Weakness: No Auto focus assist lamp, slow start up time. A true bargain $400 for a camera with so many resources of manual adjustments and excellent image quality. I think those that didn't get good results with her need to read the manual of instructions better and to familiarize with the manual adjustments, or then they received a defective unit. Not always it is gotten good results in the automatic way, in any camera. The intensity of the flash can...

Olympus Camedia C-5000 5 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: great selection of modes, easy to operate. Weakness: None so far. I spent a lot of time researching digital cameras before making my selection. The Olympus C-5000 was everything I was looking for and more. This is my second digital camera and has more bells and whistles and takes awsome pictures. The owners manual is easy to read and understand. It's just the right size and is very lightweight. I'm getting ready to take a trip out west, and can't wait to see...

Olympus Camedia C-5000 5 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Easy to learn, lot of options to take pictures, additional hot shoe for flash Weakness: No audio with movies!!!!! Manual sucks This was my second digital camera from an older model Nikon Coolpix. I liked that this camera was smaller and still had a lot of advanced features included similar to an advanced camera. The only thing that I hated was that there was no audio with the movies that you recorded, which is kinda stupid to me. The pictures come out really nice. If I were to do it over again the only thing keeping me...

Olympus Camedia C-5000 5 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Clarity of pics is amazing, very easy to use, quick view button makes checking out pics really easy, panorama function totally awesome, lightweight and small, included battery pack and charger. Weakness: no audio with Quicktime clips or ability to add this with an external mic. Also you can't zoom while in the "record movie" mode. I've had pics blown up to 24x36 without losing any resolution. The cons I stated above hardly outweight all the pros since if you want video with audio, get a digital camcorder. Some of the settings do take a bit of practice to use correctly, but once you've mastered the how to's it's an excellent camera with amazing pictures.

Olympus Camedia C-5000 5 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Great photo quality for outdoor shots. The write speed of the xD cards is very fast in comparison to the smart media cards. The new menu system is a big improvement over earlier Olympus cameras. Weakness: Very poor focusing in low to moderate light situations. Too much noise above 80 asa. I've had this for about ten days now and while the photo quality for outdoor shots is great with very little purple fringing, the indoor picture quality is awful. The colors are right on. The AF system on this camera needs an assist focus light. It takes three to four seconds to get a focus lock indoors. The FL-20 hot shoe flash helps out a bit on indoor shots. The noise on asa 160 and above is...

Olympus Camedia C-5000 5 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Features, size, location of flash, flexibility, ease of use, size of display, durability Weakness: not aware of any at this time I bought this camera because it offered a lot of features for a reasonable price. The fact is has 5 megapixels is a plus as I like to enlarge photos and retain quality. I've had good experience with Olympus in the past and anticipate a similar experience with this camera. I like the camera's features and it's ease of use. It has all that I was looking for in a camera yet still maintains its...

Olympus Camedia C-5000 5 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: Beautiful outdoor daylight pictures Weakness: Poor shots in all indoor or low light situations, poor quality when zooming in, especially if indoors. Pictures are very grainy/noisy. I would not recomend this camera to anyone who wants good pictures (especially scrapbookers). I have sent it back to Olympus twice to have it looked at, they have updated the firmware, changed the lense and fixed some other minor thing and it is still no better. I was told to take pictures on a higher resloution, apparently HQ isn't good enough!? I am very disappointed with this camera, and I had...

Olympus Camedia C-5000 5 Megapixel Compact CameraStrengths: NONE Weakness: This is by far the worst camera I have ever purchased. Any type of low light shooting is horrible. The picture come out similar to a 2 megapixel camera. I would not recommend this camera to anyone. I would not recommend this camera to anyone. The flash is either to much or not even close. ISO levels do not make a difference in this camera. No matter what ISO level the picture will be to dark. Low light, I mean anything short of daylight shooting, shots are comparable to 2 megapixel in quality. Daylight shots are average. The only good pictures I received from this camera was when I shot...

Olympus Camedia C-5000 5 Megapixel Compact Camera
Strengths: Good overall photo quality. Ease of use.
Weakness: Flash. Size of unit.
Overall, a very good camera. My 3 oldest kids (9,7,5) all can take great pictures with it and can use it easily. While I said the size was a weakness, it is also a positive in that with small cameras they tend to break easier and are a little more difficult to use the controls. All of the controls are easy to use.
