Good PIcture qualityStrengths: 8.0 MP for a reasonable price, lots of manuals controls and user friendly. Weakness: 3X Optical zoom, picture gets fuzzy in full zoom Not too big and heavy but pocket size and with 8.0MP, its a good camera. Useful for both amateurs and advanced amateurs. My wife uses it as a simple point and shoot where as I toggle with advanced features. The P3 version has a wireless function but I think P4 is better as its a bit cheaper. You could spend those additional $100 for buying a higher memory card. P.S: Please be aware that a Card...

CoolPix P4 CameraStrengths: Easy to use, great pictures and fits nicely into my pocket. my wife likes it too. Weakness: None so far I like the preprogrammed settings. I take a lot of snap shots and this camera is easy to carry and produces the results that I want. I am not a professional but do enjoy the pictures the colors are very accurate. Houston

Nikon Coolpix P4Strengths: Size, 8MP, Auto Mode, 2.5" LDD Weakness: No View Finder This is a great little compact camera and the second Nikon Coolpix that I have owned. It is solidly constructed, and takes great pictures. The 2.5" LCD is great. I love the size, it fits in my pocket. With a 3 year old, my problem was my old Nikon was just too big to carry around everywhere, so I missed a lot of great moments. Not anymore. I recommend this little camera.

I have a nikon 850 I bought years ago and loved it because it felt great in my hand and was easy to use. I took movies, slides and night shots to just play with the camera. Powerful little camera- Nikon Cool Pix P4
Strengths: Flexibility, excellent pictures, great video and sound pickup, easy to use controls, 2 vibration reductions, review picture without extending lens. in camera guide book.
Weakness: miss glass view finder in bright sun.
I consider it my compact SLR. It has so many possible settings, I enjoy learning them as needed. The auto setting is very adequate for most shots. Face recognition focus in portrait mode is fun. It brackets a face even off center and bracket turns green when face is in focus. Press review button 2 seconds and screen lights up without lens extending. Great for editing without wasting battery....
