Strengths: size, weight, nice design, very user friendly

Weakness: battery life, software is not as easy to use as the camera itself

Extremely simple operation and quick to learn. Scene selection is easy to use. The quality of the pictures are good. A very nice camera for beginners.

Strengths: - Very small size (fits easily in pocket) - Good in low light

Weakness: - Some of the scene modes aren't as good as I would expect, but nothing major

This is only a 2 MP camera, but the quality is more than enough for most people. It's very small, which is one of its selling points. It's actually as small as my cell phone, which makes it handy for carrying around. The interface for turning on/off flash and close-up mode is pretty easy.

Strengths: Quality camera with excellent 3x zoom optics, loaded with features found only on expensive cameras. The 15 Scene modes are great for beginners.

Weakness: Does not come with a Memory Card or rechargeable batteries, but I picked up a Kingston 128 meg memory card, after rebate, for $10.00, and a Panasonic charger with 6 NiMH batteries for $20.00.

I purchased this camera for my granddaughter who is 10 years old. The camera’s size is perfect for her small hands. This is her first camera and she loves it and has had no problems learning to use it or downloading the pictures to her computer or displaying them on a TV. Strengths: For a beginner or someone just getting into digital photography this is a great little camera, the scene modes help you become more aware of framing a shot, the macro mode is great for closeups

Weakness: short battery life is a given with digital cameras go with the nimh batteries and a charger and also a memory card and you will be on your way to some fun with this camera, so much for weaknesses

this camera packs a lot in for the price, people get lost in mega pixel counts the lens on this camera makes you think you have more then 2 (smiles)

Strengths: Versatility. Advanced Features. Value -- bottom of the line for Nikon but still GREAT! Size -- small.

Weakness: Possibly complexity for the novice. This isn't exactly a point and shoot camera although it's rather low-res considering the much higher megapixcel cameras available. Goes through batteries quickly.

Would have liked a neck strap instead of a wrist strap. Wish it came with a case to protect it better. Would be nice if it had an optional power adapter to use in place of AA's although I'm buying/switching to AA rechargeables immediately. Nice little camera for 4x6,5x7 pix which is all I usually print or tv view anyway,havent tried to print bigger than 5x7 yet. Weakness: Action shots became blurred at night. Does not come with recharable batteries.

Strengths: Nikon optics; Very compact and small to operate; Lots of preset modes for beginnners; With about 14MB internal memory, you can start right now. Great auto functions, may also be a weakness

Weakness: Lack of manual control;if you want play with different controls on the cam, this may not be the one. LCD is not so clear, a little blurry.

Set up of the camera is not very straightforward; you need to turn the knob to "SET UP" to change some settings. Better have a button to change in any shooting mode. But considering the price, it is a great camera for starters.
